Best movie I have ever seen

Ventilator movie is indeed a journey of emotions. Journey which we all love.. In a single line I can describe this movie as 'No nonsense movie'. Yes, each dialogue or each emotion, gesture has a meaning in this film and nothing is just filler. We hardly come across such movies nowadays. Ventilator has no loose ends at all. It just keeps on getting in your veins. I missed my family so much while watching this film. If you are watching it, make sure you watch it with your whole family.

There are so many characters and all have acted well.. Frankly speaking, I haven't seen such a fantastic script anytime in recent years. This movie will make you realize that you definitely have to respect and put more time to understand your parents' view/their opinions. Hats off to Jitendra Joshi, Ashutosh Gowariker and Rajesh Mapuskar.. Tremendous job!!

A must must watch by the entire family both old and young...

I was struck both with joy and sadness, happiness and sorrow, enthusiastic as well excited...tears flowed down in each and every scene both through laughing aloud and in deep sorrow flowing down my memory lane and straight through my heart... My sincere advise, please take your entire family to watch this memorable cinema which will take a lifetime to come through again.. thumps up...double thumps up....more and more. The entire narration from the beginning to end will keep you engrossed to know exactly what happens next. The entire scene is so well timed by each and every character, that it makes this movie a must watch. Kudos to the scriptwriter, dialogue deliverance by the actors and above all the fine character played by each and one as though these are already existing in each and every household. Please do watch the scene and the one liner comedy both being humorous and hilarious.. will go on and on to acclaim this marvelous masterpiece...will remain in my heart... forever

    Heart touching

A Heart-Touching Marathi Masterpiece that Portrays Emotions with Grace.

Ventilator, a Marathi film directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, is a captivating and emotionally charged cinematic experience that leaves an indelible impact on its audience. Released in 2016, the movie beautifully weaves together a tapestry of emotions, showcasing the complexities of familial relationships, the celebration of life, and the inevitability of mortality. With its compelling narrative, exceptional performances, and poignant storytelling, Ventilator emerges as a heart-touching gem of Marathi cinema.

At its core, Ventilator revolves around the character of Gaju Kaka (played brilliantly by Ashutosh Gowariker), who is admitted to the hospital and put on a ventilator. The news of his critical condition brings together the extended family, triggering a series of emotional moments that traverse a spectrum of feelings. The film masterfully delves into the intricate dynamics among the family members, unearthing hidden resentments, unresolved issues, and long-buried secrets.

Ventilator succeeds in portraying a wide range of emotions with utmost authenticity. It captures the anxieties, fears, and helplessness that surface during times of crisis, as well as the love, compassion, and unity that emerge when faced with adversity. Each character is crafted with depth and nuance, allowing the audience to connect with their joys, sorrows, and vulnerabilities. From tearful moments of despair to heartwarming instances of joy, the film beautifully tugs at the heartstrings of the viewers, leaving them emotionally invested in the story.

The performances in Ventilator are nothing short of exceptional. Ashutosh Gowariker, known primarily as a director, delivers a career-defining performance as Gaju Kaka. His portrayal of a vulnerable and emotionally conflicted individual is nuanced and deeply moving. Equally praiseworthy are the supporting cast members, including Jitendra Joshi, Sulabha Arya, and Priyanka Chopra (in a special appearance), who bring their characters to life with remarkable skill and conviction. Their performances lend authenticity to the story, making the audience empathize with the characters' emotional journey.

One of the film's strengths lies in its ability to seamlessly blend comedy and drama. Ventilator employs a lighthearted touch and witty dialogue to provide moments of respite amidst the otherwise emotionally charged narrative. The comedy acts as a release valve, allowing the audience to find solace and laughter even in the face of difficult situations. This delicate balance of tones enhances the film's realism, making it relatable and engaging.

Another noteworthy aspect of Ventilator is its inclusive storytelling. The film transcends language and cultural barriers, touching the hearts of audiences from different backgrounds. It showcases the universal themes of love, family, and human connection, making it accessible to a wide range of viewers. The narrative unfolds with cultural traditions and rituals, adding a distinct Marathi flavor to the storytelling, yet it remains relatable and emotionally resonant for audiences across the globe.

Ventilator is a cinematic masterpiece that showcases the true power of storytelling. With its heartfelt exploration of emotions, exceptional performances, and a well-crafted narrative, the film leaves a lasting impression on the audience. It reminds us of the importance of family, the fragility of life, and the beauty of human connections. Ventilator is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a heartwarming, thought-provoking, and emotionally charged cinematic experience.

    Outstanding Movie

Since last decade there is no shortage of themes in Marathi Cinema.

'Ventilator' is a beautiful journey of complicated human relations, father-son relationship, misunderstandings and priorities. The melange of humorous and sentimental scenes keeps audience involved throughout the film. Kudos to the entire team! The team of veteran actors did full justice to the script and portrayed each character with excellence. Especially 'Jitendra Joshi','Ashutosh Gowarikar' , 'Sukanya Mone' and 'Satish Alekar' just nailed it! In addition, it was delightful to see Unmesh uncle (our next door neighbor in Mumbai) in few scenes. :) It is admirable to see Priyanka Chopra promoting Indian regional films through her production house. In short, Priyanka's 'Purple Pebble Pictures Production' enters Marathi industry with a milestone movie and one can't afford to miss it.

    A typical maharashtrian thali

What a refreshing movie to enjoy with the entire family! Move over the brainless wannabe comedies and the Bollywood themed action flicks or the high calorie cheesy romantic flicks. This movie exemplifies what movies can be when the basic ingredients like the story, screen play, characters are in the hands of a master chef. Rajesh Mapuskar from the Vidhu Vinod Chopra/Raju Hirani stable of movie making brings this family drama to life.

In typical Raju Hirani fashion the story assumes the role of the superstar hero and you empathize with the characters immediately. The character sketches are so well defined that you can find each of these characters around you without mistaking them for caricatures.

Although, the title betrays what the movie is about there are many layers to enjoy here. Right from the father-son relationship to the role of an extended family, to the importance we give to our traditions or a snarky reference to the exorbitant expenses of health care and the struggles of people who not necessarily have the means to afford such care. The movie definitely leaves you with enough to ponder on. In fact, the title could easily be a play on our relations being on a ventilator and it being up to us when we plug the ventilator off.

A must watch for every family, especially the younger generation to understand that family is there for a reason and Facebook and Twitter can't replace it.
