Feral is one of those gays-of-our-lives shows and movies, the sort of TV shows and films that have no real story but just focus on the day-to-day lives of various characters. But unlike many in that genre Feral is well crafted with characters you can actually identify with or feel for.
The characters in Feral seem genuine and they're fairly far from most the gay cultural cliches seen in queer films. The cast is good and though the acting at some points sort of feels amateurish it always feels authentic, sometimes to the point of feeling like a documentary.
The series looks great, nicely shot in a manner that can make drab, run down houses and overcast days in a dreary city look poetic. It's also a great sounding show with interesting music used well.

The first couple episodes seemed promising, then it all went downhill. No character development, and we therefore do not care about any of the actors. Sappy, boring scenes abound, with absolutely no plot or story ever evolving. What's worst, the music throughout was just awful and very annoying. It simply added to a very annoying serial. It is no wonder it lasted only one season.
The synopsis of this short TV serial or 'season' is that a tight knit group of 'twenty something's' are figuring out life – whilst being creative types and paying the rent in Memphis.
That is about it – they have relationships – get on down in the bedroom (occasionally) and have fall outs and then go to parties etc. The relationships seem to be almost a rotating door but there is genuine chemistry for most of the show time and the acting is mostly very good but with no show stopping performances.
Some issues are dealt with – like drug abuse – but in no great depth and are more incidental to the plot than the raison d'être. It can be slow in places too as not a lot happens. This takes its time in a confident way though – it has not run out of ideas but is letting the story grow. I enjoyed it all for the most part but watched it in three sittings; that said I would watch a second season.

I am a gay man with no talent just opinions.
This anthology series like every indie series hads a few bumps. But it is overall a great series. Definitely worth watching. Particularly episode 4 .Jordan Nichols as Billy Larson and Ryan Masson as Carl. Were brilliantly natural dealing with a subject. Well not to give it away, many gay men have gone there.
BRILLIANT and I want more!
