I’m still not over Blue Bloods’ cancelation.
I haven’t deleted the series finale from my DVR and have watched bits and pieces of it over again, and can safely say it was one of the best episodes in a season full of them.
Our Blue Bloods Season 14 report card considers that this farewell season didn’t feel like a show going off the air—and that the final episode should have been a season finale, not a series finale.
(CBS/Michael Parmalee)
While a few episodes had a sillier premise than I would like (I’m rarely a fan of Danny partnering up with a random guest star who annoys the hell out of him), every episode offered solid stories and the family values that made Blue Bloods such a wonderful series.
Even the worst episode of Blue Bloods Season 14 was some of the best that television has to offer.

The following contains major spoilers from Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 18, "End of Tour," which debuted Friday, Dec.13 on CBS.
The Blue Bloods series finale is perfectly in line with the CBS show's long history -- which is both a strength and a wealness. Season 14, Episode 18, "End of Tour" will be predictable to anyone who's watched the TV crim drama during its decade-plus long run. It's so classic Blue Bloods that one can't help but wonder if it was originally ended as more of a season finale than an end to the entire show.
"End of Tour" paints a picture of police officers and other public figures under attack, with all of the Reagans coming together to restore order in New York City. Aside from the death of a prominent recurring character, there aren't many surprises to be had in the hour. But that might be comforting to some viewers, as...

Season 14 of Blue Bloods is currently exploring the dynamic of Joe Hill (Will Hochman) within the prestigious Reagan family as the long-lost son of the slain family member, Joseph Reagan. The Season 14 episode "Life Sentence" explores Joe Hill and Jamie Reagan's (Will Estes) relationship, and the recent episode "No Good Deed" examines the dynamic between Joe and Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as they work on a case investigating the murder of a bike delivery rider. This ultimately culminates in one of the season's best episodes, where Danny and Joe get on the same page and become a formidable team. Joe also learns an important lesson about valuing the lives of witnesses and those who jeopardize their safety by voluntarily offering information to the New York Police Department. It's time to showcase how this episode possibly sets up the fate of Joe Hill with Blue Bloods as the long-running hit series nears its emotional series finale!

Warning! Spoilers about Fire Country season 3, episode 6 ahead.
Ever since Fire Country season 3’s premiere aired on October 18, 2024, a new episode has come out every week on Friday – it nevertheless won’t on November 29, 2024. Fire Country season 3 saw Bode acclimatizing to his new life outside Three Rock and focused on his Cal Fire training in Edgewater. If getting into the training and be accepted by his fellow cadets proved difficult at first, Bode found a close ally in Audrey at least. Having Jake as his boss made Bode’s training difficult, but finally passing to phase 3 meant finding a new leader in Camden Casey.
Gabriela’s decision in Fire Country season 3’s premiere had extensive repercussions on Bode, as her choosing to leave Diego at the altar meant he finally had a chance with Gabriela, especially as he wasn’t incarcerated anymore. However, Gabriela clarified from their first hookup how...

If you’re hoping for something to watch on broadcast TV tonight, Friday, Nov. 29, you may be out of luck. It’s mostly all about the sports. However, there is some fun news for Blue Bloods fans.
It’s Black Friday. We all know that means people are out shopping. Or they’re sleeping off the Thanksgiving fun from the day before. This is a day to relax and spend time with family, so most people probably aren’t watching live TV. It makes sense for the broadcast networks to take a night off the regular programming tonight.
Blue Bloods special and college sports
Three of the Big 5 networks have college football to watch. CBS and The CW are the exceptions, with CBS opting for a night dedicated to Blue Bloods. With the series finale just around the corner, this makes a lot of sense.
We’ll have two reruns of Blue Bloods,...

The following contains major spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 11, "Life Sentence," which debuted Friday, Oct. 18 on CBS.
Just like Frank Reagan runs the Reagan family, Tom Selleck dominates the return of Blue Bloods. Season 14, Episode 11, "Life Sentence" is the midseason premiere -- and the start of the long-running CBS drama's final episodes. As such, the script wants to tie the whole family into one case of the week, but it's the subplot involving Selleck's character Frank and returning guest star Stacy Keach that stands well above the rest of the proceedings.
"Life Sentence" seems to take its title from that story, in which Frank is surprised by Archbishop Kevin Kearns asking for his help on a murder case. Kearns wants to help the suspect avoid the death penalty... but Frank doesn't see the case the way he does. Meanwhile, Erin Reagan is randomly accused of jury tampering, which is...

Tom Selleck thanked CBS for the last eight episodes of popular family cop drama Blue Bloods that begin airing tonight and, when concluded, will mark the end of the show’s impressive 14-season run.
“These eight shows that we can look forward to are because CBS agreed and wanted to do that and celebrate – not only celebrate Blue Bloods but commemorate its legacy. And I just wanted to thank them,” the actor said Thursday night during the show’s panel at PaleyFest in NYC.
The series will have aired nearly 300 episodes when Season 14, Part 2 wraps. Part 1 aired from February to May.
Deadline first reported CBS’ plans to end Blue Bloods’ run almost a year ago. Network executives said later that, “All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule,” acknowledging that the series by EP and showrunner Kevin Wade had been a staple of the lineup.

Prime Video will adapt Elle Kennedy’s “Off Campus” book series into a TV show.
The streamer has ordered the college-set romantic drama to series, with Louisa Levy attached to serve as showrunner.
With five books in the “Off Campus” series, the first season will be based on the first book, titled “The Deal.” It introduces the romance between a wry, hockey-hating music major and Briar University’s playboy star center.
The books depict the elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood, per the official logline.
“Elle Kennedy’s beloved ‘Off Campus’ series has resonated with a massive audience by tackling relatable topics from self-discovery to the power of connection,” Amazon MGM Studios head of TV Vernon Sanders said in a Tuesday statement.

Contrary to what you may have heard, being a TV writer isn’t solely about the interminable daily ritual of placing, receiving and consuming each afternoon’s rigorously debated lunch order. No—there are also fantasy football teams to be managed and Nerf basketballs to be bounced from one end of the workspace to the other. That, plus the tricky business of using one’s imagination to dream up the characters, storylines and dialogue that so many millions of people around the world build their lives around, e.g. a highly demanding creative act that often requires just as much strategic distraction as it does pure artistic inspiration. And all this is even before we even get to strikes, AI and a post-Peak TV landscape where the number of shows are actually contracting for the first time this century.
So yeah—it’s a hard industry to build a career in.

Bill Lawrence, the top comedy showrunner at the moment amid the enormous critical and commercial success of Ted Lasso, is staying put at Warner Bros. TV Group through 2028. After lengthy negotiations, Emmy winner Lawrence, who had a little time left on his current overall pact at the studio, has closed a blockbuster new five-year deal for his Doozer production company, I have learned. Noone is commenting but sources value the pact at more than $100 million, catapulting Lawrence in the very top tear of TV showrunners.
Like other overall agreements of that caliber in the era of Peak TV, the path to this one was not straight-forward, with some sources I spoke to calling it a wild ride. I hear Warner Bros. originally balked at Lawrence’s financial ask. Because he is still under an overall arrangement at the studio, the Scrubs creator could not go on the open market and officially test the waters.

Actress Lucy Hale ("Pretty Little Liars") poses for Dutch lingerie brand Hunkemöller, photographed by David Roemer:
"I'm at this place in my life where I accept all parts of me, not just the good parts," said Hale.
"The good, the bad and the 'ugly'. And so to feel empowered in something that is vulnerable like lingerie, that is special to me.
"To be here, shooting pieces that I had a hand in designing and actually wearing them, that just shows I have come a long way and I hope that’s apparent through all of it – the collection, the imagery, the video..."
Hale first co-starred as 'Becca Sommers' in the TV series "Bionic Woman" (2007) and as 'Rose Baker' in the series "Privileged" (2008–2009). Her breakthrough role was 'Aria Montgomery' in the Freeform TV series "Pretty Little Liars" (2010–2017) followed by playing 'Stella Abbott' in "Life Sentence" (2018) and as the "Archie" Comics character "Katy Keene" (2020).

Lucy Hale is set as a lead in Ragdoll, a crime drama series for AMC and Alibi based on the novel by Daniel Cole, Deadline has confirmed. The series hails from Sid Gentle Films, the British production company behind Killing Eve.
Adapted for television by Freddy Syborn, the six-part drama is described as a “modern-day Faustian thriller” centers on the murder of six people whose bodies have been dismembered and sewn into the shape of one grotesque body — nicknamed “The Ragdoll.”
Assigned to the shocking case are DS Nathan Rose, recently reinstated to the London Met; his best friend and boss, Di Emily Baxter; and the unit’s new recruit, DC Lake Edmunds, portrayed by Hale. The “Ragdoll Killer” taunts the police by sending them a list of his next victims, with Rose’s name among them. And with those victims to protect, our heroes soon come under intense public scrutiny.
