Phil Robertson in Torchbearer (2016)

If I ever needed a movie to refund my time, this is it.

I was hoping that perhaps there would be a novel concept in this movie, but no. The theme is predictable, tired, and yet scarily still not uncommon. Being that human-kind has continually angered 'Gawd' (his pronunciation, not mine). Hence disasters, be they caused by nature or human, can be occasionally pointed to as a sign that 'Gawd' is unhappy. That, unfortunately, is the gist of the entire movie.

I came away feeling very much as though i'd just seen a tired magician, sawing a lady in half. The trick is old, and the performance was worse.

If you enjoy anything close to a decent theological piece, don't waste your time. I feel soiled even reviewing the thing.

Fantastic Film

I don't do reviews, although I read some from time to time. When I read the one from Feb /17, I felt like I needed to respond.

The personalized criticisms isn't a new concept to movies that reveal historic facts and include biblical references. Those type of reviews smack of an overall disdain not only for great production and content value (this is a wonderful film) but talk of tricks is a curious observation that has no relevance to the film and curious in itself.

The locations, cinematography and writing is superb. Phil Robertson is a natural in the delivery of the documentary-styled performance.

Watch it. You'll like it and likely learn some history you didn't know or have forgotten.

Excellent Film!!

I strongly disagree with the review posted in Feb 2017. This film is an accurate portrayal of what happens to humanity when man removes God from the picture. Not once does he mention God being angry or God's anger as a reason for the wars and autrocities seen throughout human history. There are no natural disasters mentioned in this film either.

I encourage you to watch the film with an open mind and develop your own opinion. Jesus is our only hope in this life!

Fantastic

Very well made. I suspect those who rate this video low have a problem with the truth presented rather that the way it is presented. If one has an determined bias against God, this will chaff.

Excellent

Fact is- Any Biblical Christian will appreciate this documentary. It provides clarity into not just church history, but real history, history that has shaped our culture today. It's factual, evidential, and inspiring. Phil achieved his purpose through the film. Anyone opposed to Biblical Christianity will not like it guaranteed as they don't like the idea of sin and it's corruption of all things.

Anti-Christians will hate this.

Truth is, only anti-Christians will hate this film. Phil is real, and he speaks from his heart.

Only a troubled sinner would rate it down, and even then he knows he is wrong. Myabe a reprobate will say this movie is bad, or the massage is wrong nad not "liberal" enough for them.

The truth is, the truth is not liberal or not, its truth. Your world-view is not always right, you are only human. But the Word of God is there to correct your world view.

It's never too late to repent.

Amazon Prime Video is the worst platform to have your movie streamed.

I can't help but feel that amz does not want you to watch any movie that talks about religion and not pro marxist. Despite paying to stream and "not" using prime video streaming services that comes with amz prime that one pays every year so expensively, amz still go out of their way to make it impossible to stream. Paid video they prefer to ban from paying customers. No wonder they r laying off jobs in amz prime video coz nobody uses it and if u do, they still make it impossible to stream from your smart tv like the sony bravia that i rarely use to watch prime. WHAT A RIPOFF! Watch this documentary from any platform other than amz prime!
