In the last two years, two opposing forces have shone brightly in the landscape of Indian cinema. The unprecedented international success of director SS Rajamouli’s “Rrr” (2022) has catapulted its lead actors into a level of worldwide fame previously reserved for the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Interestingly, before Ui and Max‘s arrival at the box office, it was Dhruva Sarja’s Martin, which was the highest-grossing Kannada film of the year with a collection of 22 crore, but it was a flop at the box office, considering its huge budget of reported 100 crore!

The director of the film, Mohan Raja, has officially announced the sequel, Thani Oruvan 2, on the eighth anniversary of the original film. The sequel will also feature Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara as the lead pair, along with a mystery villain who will be chosen from another language film industry.

Thani Oruvan 2 will be produced by Ags Entertainment, the same banner that bankrolled the first part. The announcement video, which was released on social media, shows Mohan Raja changing the famous dialogue from the first film, “Tell me who your enemy is, I will tell who you are” to “Tell me who you are and I will tell who your enemy is”. The video also reveals that the shooting of the film will begin from April 2024, tentatively in the second week.

The first look of Ram Charan Teja’s eagerly-anticipated Rangasthalam was unveiled on Saturday. The poster features a bearded Ram Charan –sporting a completely different look from his last outing, the crime-thriller Dhruva.

The film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, but she isn’t in this poster of the movie. This is the first time Ram Charan is seen in a rural avatar, and the first look has already generated much excitement online – several celebrities have tweeted about how impressed they are.
