Oru Mexican Aparatha is a realistic portrayal of Student wars in Kerala with terrific performances but dragging screenplay.

Oru Mexican Aparatha (2017): Student Politics are always an interesting premise for Cinema.College youth likes these kind of movies as they can be easily related to the situations.Oru Mexican Aparatha is one such film released this March in Malayalam. So how is it?

    Plot:

The story begins during the emergency era, when an SFY leader Kochaniyan is murdered by the police inside the prestigious Maharaja campus. Cut to the current times when the college is ruled by KSQ, led by the firebrand Roopesh (Roopesh Peethambaran).Subhash (Neeraj Madhav) has been designated by the Left party to initiate a base for SFY at Maharaja College. He teams up with Paul Varghese (Tovino Thomas) and a few other friends to find a place for their outfit within the campus. This enrages KSQ and in turn, begins a series of violent fights between the two.

    Plus Points:

1)Realistic portrayal: Debutant director Tom Emmatty has narrated the story with lot of humour in a highly engaging way and quite evidently, it would be nothing less than a thrilling experience for all those have studied in Kerala. Be it in the campus, hostel, canteen, college functions and cultural festivals- everything looks so real and you can easily identify with it.

2)Performances: With amazing screen presence and confidence Tovino Thomas makes his mark as a hero in a brilliant way. He is earnest and has a pleasing persona. Filmmaker Roopesh Peethambaran, who has played the young Mohanlal in Spadikam, comes up with a brilliant show as the KSQ leader. Neeraj Madhav is top class as Subhash the fiery leaser while Jino John and Vishnu Govindan as Jomy is very impressive. Many newcomers in relatively small character roles are excellent Heroine, Gayatri Suresh, has nothing much to do though.

    Minus Points:

1)Duration: This movie has duration of 2hr 23 min and drags a lot in between the crucial scenes.

So,Oru Mexican Aparatha is a realistic portrayal of Student wars in Kerala with terrific performances but dragging screenplay.

    A political campus movie!!!

The film tells the journey of two friends Paul & Subhash and their attempt to bring a change in the campus politics that has run under the control of KSQ students. KSQ has the final words in the campus and the freedom of other party students are denied by them.

It's a political campus movie with mass scenes and some nice acting. Most of the punch dialogue that is seen in the trailer failed to make an impact on big screen. Even though it's a movie that should watch in the theatre to experience the craziness of the audience. Another interesting thing that I witness while watching the film is some party guys take it personal and starts fighting with each other.

Tovino once again proves his caliber and theatre response for his intro was massive. Roopesh in his comeback movie was superb in the negative role and Neeraj Madhav also shows some maturity in his role. The film has a pathetic love story and Gopi Sunder's music was not that likable. The ending was satisfying and Tom Emmatty has delivered a mass entertainer. Apart from these negatives the film is watchable and please don't create problems in the theatre based on your political view.

A decent film which shows the love for his party

One person commented negative about this movie . His username is Arun vattakadu. He is a true spoiler who may be supporter of congress . He's saying that this movie is based on congress, not communist . A true congi never gives his life for his party whereas communists work for their party . That's the difference. He's believing those foolish reviews and false stories of congis.

I didn't find this film bad or below average . This was a good decent film for me. It's much better than Fahad fassil's Gandhian comalitharam kandam vazhi oduna congi teams🤡😂. This movie doesn't portrait the reality of congress. They never gave life for their party, but most of them run through fields with fear of those communist activists / student leaders😂🤡.

Script writer Jude had said that Director Tom approached him after seeing his Facebook post saying that he has a script ready for sale. Jude was in need of money and had put up the post looking for probable buyers. Tom then went on and changed the major portion of the script and according to Jude, the only 'Jude thing' that remains in, it is the title. Jude also said that this is the reason he requested the makers not to credit him as the writer.
