Quick Links What Does the Recruiter Do in Squid Game Season 2? What Happens Between Gi-hunand The Recruiter?
The following contains spoilers for Squid Game Season 2, now streaming on Netflix. It also contains a mention of suicide.
As Squid Game Season 1 unfolded, Gi-hun came across an assortment of unsavory characters, on and off the island. He experienced questionable people on the mainland in South Korea who left him disenchanted with humanity's future. He met even more sadistic individuals in his two visits to the games.
In the end, while Gi-hun won, he wasn't happy. He knew he had darkness within him. Still, he hates, not just how the games exposed him, but how it took so many innocent lives. It preyed on poor, desperate people, making them do nasty things to each other. Squid Game Season 2 gives Gi-hun a chance to address the man who put him down that path: the Recruiter.

The Trunk has a stellar cast that features renowned South Korean actors led by Gong Yoo and See Hyeon-jin. Based on The Trunk by Kim Ryeo-ryeong, the Netflix K-drama follows Han Jeong-won, a music producer who gets intertwined in a one-year marriage contract orchestrated by a company called New Marriage (Nm). As the two characters get to know each other, they come across a trunk which helps them discover that the marriage agency has some dark secrets.
The Trunk explores the complexities of marriage, and the actors are perfectly suited to bring director Kim Kyu-tae’s vision to life. Goblin’s Gong Yoo, who plays the male lead in the series, carefully chooses his roles. So the fact that he is part of The Trunk’s cast shows that the Netflix miniseries has something special. The series features other renowned K-drama actors, including Seo Hyun-jin, Jung Yun-ha, and Hong Woo-jin.

Crash Landing on You quickly became one of TvN's most-watched K-Dramas of all time. It's known for its gripping and unique storyline and the memorable romance between its leads. Mr. Sunshine, Healer, While You Were Sleeping, and Snowdrop are great examples of K-Dramas to watch after Crash Landing on You.
Crash Landing on You has already cemented itself as a K-drama classic, but there are plenty of other K-dramas to watch that can give the same level of satisfaction. Though Crash Landing to You's rise to fame started modestly, it quickly became one of the best K-dramas of all time, as well as Tvn's most-watched K-drama at that time. Crash Landing on You's may no longer hold Tvn's record thanks to one of 2024's best K-dramas, but its impact certainly hasn't wavered.
Many factors have contributed to Crash Landing on You's overwhelming success. From beautiful cinematography to dark undertones of political unrest,...

Adding fantastical elements to K-Dramas enhances plots, deepening character arcs with supernatural themes. Fantasy provides a means for characters to explore desires and hidden truths within a larger storyline. Strong actors bring complex roles to life in fantasy worlds, elevating formulaic narratives with intrigue.
Some of the best K-Drama shows incorporate fantasy elements into their best stories to critical and audience acclaim. Well-known folklore, familiar fantasy novels, or present-day fascination with magic and multiple realities make their way into the cultural consciousness and then come to life on television in K-dramas. Many of the best K-drama romances incorporate aspects of magical realism into their plots. However, the best fantasy shows go all out in delving into hidden worlds and supernatural themes.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands might technically be a spinoff of the legendary Borderlands franchise, but the game still lets you hunt down a nearly endless supply of loot for hours on end. Of course, just as it is in the mainline Borderlands games, not all the loot in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is created equal.
Each time a player kills an enemy or opens a chest, they are greeted by an explosion of colors that indicates the quality (and relative power level) of an item. This rainbow of rarity helps gamers immediately identify which loot they should prioritize, with the orange “Legendary” items often shooting to the top of the list. Not only do those ultra-rare items typically deal more damage than other weapons and spells, but many of them feature unique abilities that set them apart from your garden variety shotguns and sniper rifles.

Always found it quite ironic that when Image Comics was founded, its aim was to out-Marvel Marvel. Sure, there was the important issue of creators rights and giving people more creative freedom, but the main idea was to earn the money Marvel was earning and put more of it into the pockets of the writers and artists. it was always for me more a business decision than anything else. Then, somewhere along the way, Image became the place to go if you had a unique idea, a specific vision. Prior to that, Dark Horse Comics had been the go to place, but as they went all-in on licensing publishing, Image became the place to take new ideas. They still are. Spoiler Alert: The following article contains mild spoilers.
Despite the lack of common ground between superheroes and supervillains, they can agree on one thing: the importance of elaborate costumes. In “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Tom Holland’s Peter Parker finds himself going up against threats from multiple “Spider-Man” movie universes. The foes’ upgraded costumes, which pay homage to their comic-book origins, reflect their real identities as well.
For this third Marvel Cinematic Universe-focused “Spider-Man” film, Peter still has the red-and-black suit he designed in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” as well as the Iron Spider armor Tony Stark gifted him. However, “No Way Home” also introduces a few new suits.
Costume designer Sanja Milković Hays has dealt with superheroes before, having worked on “Captain Marvel.” When designing for the newest MCU entry, she said the team “looked at everything from the previous Jon Watts movies.”

After an early leak that probably got someone fired, the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer is here, and yes, it confirms Peter Parker (Tom Holland) — and some new-old enemies — is coming to the Marvel multiverse.
But don’t take our word for it. Watch the whole trailer, which debuted Monday night during Cinemacon, above right now.
So to cut right to the chase, yes everyone, “Spider-Man II” villain Doctor Octopus, played by Alfred Molina, is in the film. Surprise-not-surprise, right? But more importantly, that sure as hell sounds like Willem Dafoe’s creepy Green Goblin laugh accompanying that obviously-a-Green-Goblin-grenade. What we’re saying is, Willem You Magnificent Bastard, We Knew You Were Being Coy.
So how did that happen? It turns out that Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is both pretty irresponsible with serious magic and bad at giving clear instructions to teenagers, that how.
Remember that twist in the stinger...

It’s been a long 16 months without in-person concerts and festivals, and as Lollapalooza returned for Day Two at Chicago’s Grant Park on Friday, attendees and artists alike were all still feeling their way into the new normal. While official attendance numbers were not made available, the grounds did not appear to be at its typical 100,000-person capacity. Though it was busy and packed tighter near stages (and it got more crowded as the day wore on), there was still a decent amount of space away from the front...

Tyler, the Creator is up to something. A little over two years after releasing his Grammy-winning fifth studio album, Igor, the eccentric and aesthetically-inclined rapper shared mysterious teasers to Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube with little explanation.
Titled "Side Street," the under-a-minute video shows Tyler in the throes of a passionate kiss taking place atop the hood of a pink sports car. Tyler parts ways with his flame and her dog shortly before she is joined by her apparent boyfriend, played by Odd Future member Taco Bennett. The words "call me if you get lost" fill the screen as the video comes to an end.
So what's going on here exactly? Are "Call Me If You Get Lost" or "Side Street" the names of upcoming singles? Will one be the name of his next full-length release? Tyler has yet to formally announce a sixth studio album,...

Even if it’s been a while since you’ve physically sat in a movie theatre, there are some things that you just don’t forget. Like that sticky sound when you walk on the soda soaked floor, the constant crunching of popcorn, or that annoyance you feel when the couple in front of you won’t stop making out. I can’t say that I have missed any of those little aggravations, but when you watch someone else deal with them in a movie, you can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia. That said, if you’ve ever worked in a movie theatre, that nostalgia might actually feel like dread.

With filming underway right now on Sony and Marvel’s third McU Spider-Man movie, casting news was due to start breaking any time, and today brought a doozy: Alfred Molina, whose Doctor Octopus in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 is widely regarded as the best Spidey villain ever put on film, is returning for the yet-untitled McU Spider-Man 3.
As Molina’s return comes on the heels of the announcement that Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there has been a substantial increase in speculation as to what the still-untitled Spider-Man 3 is doing. The answer, it seems, is assembling a multiversal Sinister Six.
Strangely enough, the Queens-based friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has somehow become pop culture’s entry point for the superhero conception of the Many Worlds Theory. In the comics and in the best Spider-Man movie (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Peter Parker has become a...

With TriStar Pictures steadily moving forward with their plans for Labyrinth 2, many fans have taken to social media to campaign for Tilda Swinton as the new Goblin King. When Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson signed on to direct Labyrinth 2 this week, fan discussions ensued online with many wondering who might replace the late David Bowie in his iconic role as Jareth. Before long, Swinton's name was brought into the conversation, and now the fan interest behind the idea has been quickly picking up steam online.
"So I just learned that a sequel to Labyrinth is being put into production. Putting aside the fact that this makes me feel despair, we can all agree that Tilda Swinton should play Jareth, right?" one big fan of the original tweeted, echoing the thoughts of many others. Jim Henson’s 1986 classic fantasy film, Labyrinth, has achieved something that its initial box office performance would never in a million years justify: a sequel.
TriStar Pictures is set to take moviegoers back to the world of fairies, goblins and baby-napping glam-rockers who put on random musical numbers within the confines of enormously ominous oubliettes, with a sequel to Labyrinth now officially in the works, according to Deadline. Additionally, the studio has already found a creative team to tackle the project, tapping a director who’s put in work exploring appropriately labyrinthine fantastical worlds in Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. He’ll work off a script by Maggie Levin, who’s put in genre work on Hulu series Into the Dark and My Valentine, along with Go90’s Miss 2059.

A marriage between the gorgeously disturbing imagery Nicolas Pesce delivered via his debut The Eyes of My Mother and the surreally warped sensibilities of Audition author Ryû Murakami definitely piqued my interest as far as the former’s adaptation of the latter’s novel Piercing. This psychological thriller concerns new father Reed’s (Christopher Abbott) need to briefly leave his wife (Laia Costa’s Mona) and the baby he can’t stop himself from wanting to stab with an ice pick in order to find a prostitute with which to cleanse his dark thoughts of murder elsewhere. Maybe he’s a serial killer or maybe this urge is the culmination of not yet having put metal into flesh. Either way, his carefully laid plans will inevitably go awry so our voyeuristically perverted Gods may laugh.
Let’s face it: watching Reed rock his screaming baby until it stops to stare...
