The Fantastic Four: First Steps is up next for Marvel Studios, and new TV spots for the movie have been airing during the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

They caution fans to stay tuned to the Western Conference Finals, and with the Thunder set to battle the Timberwolves tonight at 8.30pm Et, it's likely another promo will air during the game. There's also a chance that it confirms plans for a new trailer set to air during the Finals on June 5.

We could get that tonight, of course, but chances are it's saved for early next month, seeing as The Fantastic Four: First Steps doesn't arrive in theaters until late July. That game will also be a much bigger ratings draw.

In the officially released promos below, we see more of Marvel's First Family, with the spotlight primarily on Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, and the Human Torch...likely because animating The Thing...

Marvel fans will have to wait a few extra months to see the upcoming onscreen assembly of superheroes. Marvel Studios and Disney have announced they are pushing back the release dates of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Avengers: Doomsday has been moved back from May 1, 2026, to Dec. 18, 2026, while its follow-up will now arrive in theaters on Dec. 17, 2027 instead of May 7, 2027. Doomsday is currently in production in London and the delay will give directors Joe and Anthony Russo more time to complete the film.

New Avengers: Doomsday art pits Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom against Tom Hiddleston's Loki. When Avengers: Doomsday's cast was announced by Marvel, it was revealed that a lot of important players from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Fox's original X-Men franchise would be coming back. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also confirmed that Downey's Doctor Doom will fight the original X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and more superhero teams. While Loki is not currently a member of any of those teams, he should play a vital role in the events of Avengers: Doomsday, with Doctor Doom after him.

The Sandman is an epic comic book about Dream (Tom Sturridge), one of several eternal beings who together preside over different aspects of the human condition. It goes without saying that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The film is the third big-budget attempt to bring Marvel's First Family to the silver screen, but the first to do it set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so audiences are ready for this monumental moment to take place.

The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing as the titular foursome, who will go up against one of their many archenemies from the comics, Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson).

Now, Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for the film, which looks nothing short of, well, fantastic.

Marvel celebrated April 4 by releasing some new information about The Fantastic Four: First Steps online, including a comparison to Stanley Kubrick.

“I really wanted to go with as grounded a version of space as possible,” director Matt Shakman told Empire in a new story about the project published Friday. “So, no wormholes. Their tech is very much retro-future, but it's also booster rockets. It’s a combination of Marvel and Apollo 11.”

He added, “I really wanted it to feel like it was made in 1965, the way Stanley Kubrick would have made it. Within reason.”

Coldplay have jumped on for a new version of Stromae and Pomme’s fan-favorite Arcane song “Ma Meilleure Ennemie,” the most notable add-in for an extended version of the show’s season two soundtrack that was released Friday through Riot Games and Virgin Music Group.

The feature adds to an already star-studded soundtrack for the second season of Netflix’s animated show inspired by the popular video game League of Legends, with Twenty One Pilots, Stray Kids, King Princess and D4vd, among others, contributing as well. But “Ma Meilleure Ennemie,” French for My Best Enemy, became one of season two’s biggest songs, with 335 million Spotify streams to date.

That’s second only to Jid and Imagine Dragons’ quadruple-platinum hit “Enemy,” the show’s theme and the lead single to Arcane‘s season one soundtrack. Riot Games said the season two soundtrack has amassed over 1.5 billion streams overall since it was released last November.

There's been chatter about this on social media for a few days now, but Amazon MGM Studios has just confirmed (via ActioNewz.com) that veteran producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman will oversee the next James Bond movie.

Yesterday, concept art from several past and upcoming MCU projects leaked online. Among them was The Fantastic Four: First Steps and, while there wasn't anything too revealing - it looks like Shalla-Bal will be bald rather than rocking silver hair - there are some big hints about what the future holds in store for Marvel's First Family. 

It's now been confirmed that the upcoming reboot will feature an infant Franklin Richards, the son of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. 

The comics have established him as a powerful reality warper and one of the strongest beings in the universe, even at a young age. He used his God-like abilities to help restore the Multiverse following its collapse due to the incursion crisis, so you can probably figure out how the boy will be key to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Nicolas Cage is preparing to make a sinister splash with his latest psychological thriller The Surfer, which is crashing into theaters on May 2, 2025. Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions released the first trailer and poster for the "sun-beaten terror" (seen below), showing that it's not just the weather bringing the heat in this sizzling new feature, as Cage plays a father who gets embroiled in a turf war on the beach. According to the movie's official synopsis, the conflict quickly reaches a boiling point.

"A man returns to the idyllic beach of his childhood to surf with his son. But his desire to hit the waves is thwarted by a group of locals whose mantra is 'don't live here, don't surf here.' Humiliated and angry, the man is drawn into a conflict that keeps rising in concert with the punishing heat of the summer and pushes him to his breaking point.

It is certainly an uphill battle; not only have there been previous failed attempts to bring the Fantastic Fourfranchise to life, but the decline in the quality of recent MCU projects has put even more pressure on The Fantastic Four: First Steps to be a breakout hit. Director Matt Shakman is no stranger to making inventive projects set within the MCU, as he was one of the key architects behind WandaVision, which is largely regarded to be one of the better Disney+ shows. However, Shakman proved he was capable of making a great film with the neo-Western Cut Bank, an underrated gem from A24 that starred Liam Hemsworthand Billy Bob Thornton.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has one of the biggest selection of heroes in pop culture history. From Iron Man to Deadpool, the Multiverse has no shortage of thrilling and mighty characters.

One of the things I am most excited to see in Captain America: Brave New World has to be the Red Hulk, and after rewatching the trailer once again, I noticed something essential about this version of the character. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has never given enough attention to the Hulk, ever since the 2008 movie ended up being largely ignored after replacing Edward Norton with Mark Ruffalo. But, the Multiverse Saga has finally been paying more attention to the Hulk, and the characters that are typically involved with the hero in the comics.

From She-Hulk, to Skaar, and now The Leader and Red Hulk, the MCU is finally building the world around the Green Giant. And while he has yet to get a solo movie, there is still hope, especially with these peripheral characters becoming a larger part of the story. However, it wasn't clear how far the movies...

It's recently come to my attention that the Fantastic Four has a secret fifth superhero in its ranks. Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing have frequently operated alongside Spider-Man, even referring to him as part of their family on occasion, and I would argue that he's an honorary member of the team. Spider-Man's strong connection and history with the Fantastic Four proves that he is their fifth teammate.

The Fantastic Four are regarded as Marvel's First Family for good reason, due to their status as a family first and a team second. With that structure in mind, their roster is more exclusive than most, yet Spider-Man has operated with them enough times to warrant membership.

Roy Thomas and Jim Craig first portrayed Spider-Man as a Fantastic Four hero in 1976's What If? #1, as pictured above, and that hypothetical idea has since become a reality in more ways than one.
