Deadpool is finally making his way into Avengers: Doomsday. The Hollywood Reporter first shared the news, and Ryan Reynolds added fuel to the fire when he posted an Avengers logo on social media covered in graffiti, something very much in Deadpool’s style.

According to Heat Vision, Deadpool will be part of the upcoming film, though fans shouldn’t expect him to officially join the Avengers team. Instead, he’ll appear in a different way that ties into the movie’s multiverse storylines.

Vanessa Kirby may be battling Galactus on the big screen in the MCU’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but she’s facing an entirely different threat in the Netflix thriller Night Always Comes. It’s an admittedly smaller threat (though what isn’t smaller than Galactus?), but in the eyes of Lynette, the peril is equally world-ending. Adapted from the 2021 novel by author Willy Vlautin, Night Always Comes is a dark and difficult journey featuring a spectacular cast and razor-sharp direction from Benjamin Caron.
Night Always Comes plot
Acting as the primary caretaker of her older brother, Kenny, Lynette is faced with the dark mistakes of her questionable past. When the house she shares with Kenny is at risk of being taken away for lack of payment, she finds herself faced with a desperate decision. With only one night to secure the money to keep her home, Lynette finds...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1!The Fantastic Four is perhaps the most prestigious superhero team in the Marvel Universe. Indeed, they are considered Marvel's First Family, and each member is just as important to the integrity of the team as the next. But now, one of them has been murdered in truly gruesome fashion (and another might be next).
In Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 by Benjamin Percy, Marcelo Ferreira, and Daniel Picciotto, the Yautja species have declared war on Planet Earth in the hopes of taking over the world. Of course, this is the Marvel Universe, so the Predators will have to get through a literal army of superhumans to claim Earth for themselves. Did you know that Reese Witherspoon had a movie that, even after 19 years, remains unreleased? Also, it’s been reported in the Guinness World Records! The film, titled Our Family Trouble, was acquired by Universal Pictures in a six-figure deal, an unparalleled sum at the time for an original story. Despite the massive investment and star power, the movie was never released, making it a ghost in Hollywood’s haunted house of unproduced films.
Following this, it also made Witherspoon the highest-paid actress, who eventually negotiated a pay deal worth $29 million (then £17 million) in the movie, which she produced too, earning her a Guinness World Record for it. Over the years, the actress has delivered stellar performances, both in movies and TV shows, including The Morning Show, Legally Blonde, and Big Little Lies. But eventually, Witherspoon no longer holds a record for this.

Industry insider Alex Perez recently revealed, “Agents of Shield fans will celebrate a (albeit small) win” in the upcoming Vision Quest, potentially implying that the Darkhold could be a key player in the series. Since both AoS and WandaVision have their own portrayal of the book, it could be the bridge between the two. At the same time, the way that both are showcased in the series is very different.
Not only do the books look different, but it is up for debate if Agents of Shield is actually canon to the MCU. In the official timeline of the franchise, the series is not present, making its contents non-canonical and it having no place on the Sacred Timeline. With this, if Vision Quest tries to make a reference or nod to the series, it would suddenly make the show canonical, creating a lot of plot holes about where AoS lies on the timeline.

There is a moment in Matt Shakman's new film "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" that very strongly resembles a scene from Robert Wise's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture."
"First Steps" has its head tilted toward the heavens. The titular heroes received their powers from "cosmic rays," absorbed while they were on a space mission. Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) are expecting their first child, and Reed is deathly afraid that the baby will be born with some kind of unusual genetic problem. After all, what happens when two cosmically enhanced people reproduce? The film will later reveal that their child possesses an uncanny power called the Power Cosmic. Even babies are infused with star stuff.

"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" finally gives Marvel's first family their due on the big screen. It even pays tribute to what's come before in the process, with the four main actors from 1994's mythical "Fantastic Four" film (which was never officially released) making cameos in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film. At this point, though, the cast of the 2000s era "Fantastic Four" movies have largely avoided any multiversal nonsense, save for Chris Evans appearing as Johnny Storm in 2024's "Deadpool & Wolverine." Although, to be fair, that was more poking fun at the fact that everyone was expecting Captain America and got Human Torch instead.
Former Mister Fantastic actor Ioan Gruffudd caught up with Vulture to reflect on his time in the superhero world, and he had nothing but positive feelings upon seeing Evans, his former co-star, suit up as Johnny once more. As Gruffudd put it:

At $170 million in media value, the promotional partner campaign for Disney/Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the biggest in some time, ahead of the pushes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Deadpool & Wolverine and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and even rival studio summer campaigns such as Jurassic World Rebirth ($150M).

Potential spoilers for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" follow.
Matt Shakman's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is set in the confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- it's film #37 in the series -- but the filmmakers wisely distance the action of this film from its peers by shifting events over to a parallel universe. "First Steps" is set on Earth 828 where the Fantastic Four are the only superheroes on the clock, and there are scant villains. The year appears to be 1961, as everything bears the bubbly, retro-kitsch aesthetic of a vintage Frigidaire catalogue. Yet there are also flying cars, faster-than-light starships, powerful computers, space scanning satellites, and a semi-sentient robot helper named H.E.R.B.I.E.

James Gunn and DC Studios believed they were ushering in the "Summer of Superman," but then the Marvel Cinematic Universe still hadn’t played its best hand in 2025. True, The Fantastic Four: First Steps initially got the best of the David Corenswet-led Superman movie when the latest entry in the MCU hit theaters en route to making $24.4 million during its Thursday night previews. And, yes, that figure was slightly better than the $22.5 million Superman accumulated during its own early screenings. However, that tiny victory was short-lived because The Fantastic Four surprisingly underperformed compared to the new Man of Steel’s opening-weekend debut of $125 million. After all the estimates rolled in, it turned out that the new F4 brought home a not-so-Galactus-sized $118 million domestically at the box office, and that is a reason for die-hard Superman fans to celebrate. However, there’s no way to declare which of the two...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is out in theaters, and we get a great showdown between Marvel’s first family and the planet-eating villain Galactus. While we expected nothing short of greatness from the four leads, Ralph Ineson‘s performance as Galactus surprisingly took us for a treat. And you get to see why he’s after Franklin Richards, who is Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s baby.
The film’s amazing cast – Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm – manages to keep the focus on the Fantastic Four team. But we couldn’t help but wonder what an actual Franklin Richards vs Galactus power struggle looked like.

For all the talk of superhero fatigue, recent box office numbers suggest the genre may still have plenty of life left. While the disappointing openings of Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts seemed to signal the genre’s decline, both Superman and now Fantastic Four: First Steps have opened solidly. In fact, Fantastic Four looks to be matching Superman’s launch from just two weeks ago, with early Deadline reports projecting a $120–125 million debut.
I’ll admit it—my predictions were off by about $30 million. I genuinely thought releasing two major superhero films so close together was a mistake, but audiences don’t seem to mind.
For some context: the first Fantastic Four film (the 2005 version) opened to $56 million, with its 2007 sequel pulling in $58 million. The ill-fated Josh Trank version managed only $25.6 million in 2015. So this new film’s debut is a major leap forward for the notoriously troubled franchise.

After chasing the elusive, once-upon-a-time success of the MCU for the past 6 years, Kevin Feige ultimately found it with Marvel’s first family. The franchise has now hit the golden pot at the end of the rainbow with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which takes a step back from the current timeline to travel back to the retrofuturistic past of the 1960s.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby‘s blockbuster success comes at the tail end of a long, rocky, and often backbreaking odyssey at 20th Century Fox with the Fantastic Four property. Despite the studio’s unrelenting attempt to reboot the franchise, F4 has always managed to bomb at the box office, each time somehow worse than the last.

Even though they are considered some of the most important characters in Marvel Comics, even earning the title of “Marvel’s First Family,” the Fantastic Four doesn’t have the strongest history on the big screen.
Now that the Fantastic Four is finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in The Fantastic Four: The First Steps — well, after cameos from John Krasinski as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Chris Evans as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine — it’s time to look back on every adaptation we have seen.
Fans hoping that director Matt Shakman (WandaVision) would redeem the superhero team were thankfully rewarded with The First Steps, but where does it stack up against the other Fantastic Four adaptations?

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is still a few days from hitting the big screens, but it is already making headlines. At the world premiere of the movie, which was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California, on July 21, Marvel’s First Family wasn’t the only one drawing the attention of the cameras and fans worldwide.
This was because numerous other celebrities effortlessly stole the spotlight at the event. One of these was none other than Frank Grillo – a former player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who switched lanes and is now a part of James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently gave a promising update on whether Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman might reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Deadpool and Wolverine.
In an exclusive roundtable, which included Cbr's Sean O'Connell, was asked if he had talked to Ryan Reynolds about being in the upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday or Secret Wars. Feige responded by saying, "There absolutely have been discussions. We're in touch with Ryan a lot. So the answer is yes." While Feige didn't definitively say if Deadpool would be appearing in the new Avengers movies, his comments certainly indicate that there's a possibility it could happen.
In 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine movie, both titular characters were finally brought into the McU's timeline, and this is something that Avengers: Doomsday is already planning to expand on. It was previously announced that several of the original X-Men actors, including Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming and Kelsey Grammer,...

Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 premiered on May 21, 2025, and wrapped up another intense chapter. The emotionally charged drama is set in the beautiful Zauberwald retreat, located in the stunning Austrian Alps. Season two brought together new guests, nine of them (as the title says), and over the season, viewers saw the emotional wounds and flaws of each one.
In the middle of it all was Masha Dmitrichenko, played by Nicole Kidman. This season featured buried secrets, psychedelic therapy sessions, as well as a powerful billionaire villain called David Sharpe, played by Mark Strong. The finale did tie up many of the dangling threads of this season, but it also left some lingering questions.
Since the season 2 finale, the cast has been busy with other projects. Some are prepping for their directorial debuts, while others are a part of Broadway revivals and music tours. Here’s what they’ve been...

Kevin Feige provides a disappointing update on fan-favorite Spider-Man character Miles Morales' chances of joining the MCU and talks about all those previously teased characters eventually returning. Marvel Studios is building towards Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, a two-part finale that will bring in a wide array of characters, including various members of The Avengers, Thunderbolts, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Yet, there are plenty of other characters that Marvel Studios has teased in post-credit scenes, including Clea (Charlize Theron) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Starfox (Harry Styles) in Eternals, and Hercules (Brett Goldstein) in Thor: Love & Thunder, which seemingly have no confirmed return date.
Speaking with the press about the future of the MCU, Feige outlined some future plans for the MCU, as well as what characters can or will return. One name fans shouldn't hold out much hope for is Miles Morales / Spider-Man,...

While Deadpool & Wolverine lit up last year, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is already looking to the future of the X-Men. During a recent roundtable for Fantastic Fourattended by Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Feige opened up — just a little — about what fans can expect when the X-Men officially join the MCU. The biggest tease? The new Wolverine might finally embrace the one thing fans have begged to see for decades: comic accuracy. When a journalist joked, “Does that mean you guys are looking for a short king for Wolverine?” Feige didn’t deny it. In fact, he leaned into it:
“Well, that's… that’s an example of, yes, something from the comics that has not been done. [Laughs]”
Of course, Wolverine’s canonical short stature has long been a hot topic among diehard Marvel fans. While Hugh Jackman’s portrayal became iconic over nearly two decades, the 6’3” actor towered over the...

The marketing campaign for Disney’s Lilo & Stitch was nothing short of brilliant. It’s no surprise, then, that the film pulled in close to a billion dollars at the box office this year. And now, as it heads to digital, Stitch (aka Experiment 626) is crashing Marvel’s 616 universe in the most chaotic and adorable way possible: on a batch of variant superhero comic book covers. Expect to see Stitch invading the worlds of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Captain America, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, with Marvel’s top-tier artists, Paco Medina, Phil Noto, Humberto Ramos, Ben Su, and Luciano Vecchio, bringing the mischief to life. But it’s the Avengers #30 Stitch Variant Cover by Humberto Ramos that hides the most interesting detail. The cover shows Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Panther, Vision, Hawkeye, and the rest of the gang chasing down Stitch, who’s sprinting away with Mjölnir firmly clenched in his mouth.

According to the internet, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps is giving off serious Walt Disney vibes, and we’re not just talking about his pencil-thin moustache. While Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything, fans on social media are drawing a straight line between the MCU’s new Mister Fantastic and the man who built a kingdom with a talking mouse. A meme has surfaced on social media showing Pascal’s Reed wearing what looks suspiciously like Walt Disney’s wardrobe: thin tie, sharp suit, sweater-and-shirt combo… even the same smug-but-kind genius energy. The image draws strong comparisons between the two. And many are convinced. Image Credit: Facebook “Immediately what I thought of, especially with the ’60s futurism setting,” wrote one Reddit user. Another chimed in, “Honestly agree, and with Tony Stark being Doom, it almost feels like it correlates.” The comparisons don’t stop there.

Disney made a big splash at this year’s CineEurope in Barcelona, with a full presentation of its upcoming theatrical releases. This was the first time veteran executive Andrew Cripps presented for Disney since becoming Head of Theatrical Distribution in March.
And he didn’t disappoint, especially with one of the event’s biggest moments, a closer look at Fantastic Four: First Steps, and some exciting teases about Avengers: Doomsday.
The event kicked off by celebrating the success of Lilo & Stitch, which has been doing incredibly well and is expected to pass $900 million at the global box office this weekend. It might even become the first $1 billion movie of 2025. Every seat in the theater had a Stitch plush toy that lit up along with the show, setting a fun and colorful tone.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in a parallel reality and features a version of Marvel's First Family that hails from a retro-futuristic New York City inspired by the 1960s.
The team will be front and centre in Avengers: Doomsday, and the expectation is that they'll become a permanent part of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe post-Avengers: Secret Wars. We don't know exactly what the MCU will look like after that movie, but The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez believes the 1960s aesthetic will be a "one-and-done situation."

A brand-new teaser has just dropped for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and fans got their first live-action look at Giganto, the team’s very first villain from the comics. Interestingly, this big reveal didn’t come in a regular trailer, but in a Little Caesars ad made for the film. The ad recreates a classic scene from the Fantastic Four’s first comic book, which came out all the way back in 1961.
In the teaser, viewers see Giganto, a giant sea monster, rising up from the ground just like he did on the original comic book cover.

Jon Hamm doesn’t want to take on any “boring” roles; in fact, he prefers to play the morally corrupt characters rather than a “Superman” type, despite having the Clark Kent look. The “Your Friends and Neighbors” actor told W that he has narrowed his preferences for his career.
“My history of characters isn’t exactly the saints; it’s more on the sinner side of the equation,” the “Fargo” and “Mad Men” star said. “But Superman can be kind of boring. No offense to the new Superman [David Corenswet], who I hope is a delightful person.”
And while some stars do find Superman to be more complex (Jacob Elordi previously told GQ that he turned down reading for a Superman role for an unnamed project as it was “too dark“), Hamm is steering clear of playing a superhero of any kind. He told The Hollywood Reporter that his “Mad Men...

Artist Adi Granov is best known for his work on The Invincible Iron Man, a comic book series that informed how the character looked in the MCU. In fact, Granov was enlisted to work on that and several other Marvel Studios titles, including The Avengers.
Now, he's been enlisted for the Marvel Snap video game, revealing his take on The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing.
We don't know which artists designed the team's MCU costumes, though it's possible Granov worked on the reboot. Regardless, his interpretation of Marvel's First Family is phenomenal.
During a recent interview with Collider, producer Grant Curtis likened The Fantastic Four: First Steps to his time working with Sam Raimi on the Spider-Man movies.
"One of the beauties of that and that I see in Matt Shakman is Sam always went back to the source material and said,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Producer Appears To Confirm That Sue Storm Will Be The Team's Leader
Traditionally, the Fantastic Four doesn't have a leader, though Mister Fantastic has frequently led the charge on the page. The Invisible Woman has filled a similar role, particularly in recent comic book runs by writers like Dan Slott and Ryan North.
Sue Storm desperately needs an overhaul on screen, especially as she was largely relegated to being eye candy in the Fantastic Four movies from the mid-2000s. While Kate Mara's take was an improvement, her work was overshadowed by a questionable wig from reshoots.
Talking to Collider, The Fantastic Four: First Steps producer Grant Curtis promised that the MCU will deliver a multifaceted Sue Storm, who is potentially portrayed as the leader of this team.
"If you do go back through the comics, you realize that Sue Storm is arguably the leader of the Fantastic Four, because without Sue Storm, everything falls apart," he explained. "We had the desire to date aesthetically,...

Bang on! The Marvel Cinematic Universe is here with yet another news that has put it into the spotlight. Marvel’s decision to put Sue Storm as a leader of The Fantastic Four: First Steps has disrupted its established dynamic, where Reed Richards is the team’s intellectual leader.
This has sparked a debate online on whether Marvel is following Star Wars’ footsteps, especially with The Acolyte, where heavy promotion and radical principles led to its backlash. The question here isn’t feminism, but the marketing strategy and respect for the set story structure.

Superman kicks off the Dcu in just over a month! The hype for the movie has been building day by day, and, of course, James Gunn and the people at Warner Bros had to get in on the crazy popcorn bucket trend that has taken over theaters to the delight of many fans.
This time around, the popcorn bucket created for Superman is actually a popcorn popping machine, but the machine itself is not doing the popping. Superman shows off his heat vision, something we haven’t seen too much of in the trailers, and blasts the part of the machine that holds the kernels, creating your popcorn. Check it out below.
