Where Knock At The Cabin Was Filmed - Can You Visit The Real Life Cabin?
Image
The filming of "Knock at the Cabin" took place in New Jersey's Pine Barrens, adding to the eerie ambiance of the movie's secluded cabin setting. The production team built two cabins for filming, one in the woods and another inside a warehouse for interior scenes, allowing for better control over lighting. The Pine Barrens' association with local folklore, particularly the Jersey Devil, adds an extra layer of creepiness to the already dark themes of the film.

Since the overarching storyline of Knock at the Cabin primarily unfolds in and around the titular cabin, it is hard not to wonder where the movie was filmed. Based on Paul G. Tremblay's Cabin at the End of the World, M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin is a psychological horror film that revolves around Andrew, Eric, and their adopted daughter, Wen, who travel to the countryside for a peaceful getaway from the city.

Leonard Really Stopped Knock At The Cabin’s Apocalypse (Not Eric)
Image
Knock at the Cabin is a movie all about choices, and while the decision to sacrifice himself is Eric's to make, it's really Leonard who stops the apocalypse. The M. Night Shyamalan thriller, starring Ben Aldridge, Jonathan Groff, and Dave Bautista begins with the former two actors portraying dads vacationing at a remote cabin with their daughter Wen, played by Kristen Cui. Leonard (Bautista) arrives with three other visitors in tow; Sabrina (Nikki Amuka-Bird), Adriane (Abby Quinn), and Redmond (Rupert Grint), each part of a collective guided by prophetic visions. They believe that if the family doesn't sacrifice one of its members, the world will be engulfed by doomsday.

When the four strangers invade their home, the couple is understandably hostile, but as they get to know them, they realize that they're not monsters, but regular people like them faced with impossible choices. It's tempting to think that Knock at...

1 Knock At The Cabin Detail Makes Eric & Andrew’s Ending Even Stronger
Image
Warning: spoilers ahead for Knock at the Cabin.

As heartbreaking as Eric and Andrew's ending is in Knock at the Cabin, one detail makes it even stronger. The M. Night Shyamalan thriller begins with the two dads, played by Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge, respectively, taking their daughter, Wen, on a rustic family vacation. The song "Boogie Shoes" blasts on the stereo throughout the whole drive to the cabin. Of course, this is before their rental is invaded by four strangers - Leonard, Redmond, Adriane, and Sabrina - who believe that if one of them doesn't kill another member of their family, an apocalypse will wipe out life on Earth.

Each day that Eric and Andrew stave off the inevitable, the "Four Horsemen" kill a member of their party to show how serious their commitment is, resulting in the family being the only ones left alive at the cabin. Eric...

Knock At The Cabin's Flashbacks Prove Why Eric & Andrew Were Truly Chosen
Image
Even though Andrew's pretty sure he knows why four strangers target his family during their remote vacation, Knock At The Cabin's flashbacks prove why they were really chosen. Beginning with Leonard (Dave Bautista), and continuing with Redmond (Rupert Grint), Adriane (Abby Quinn), and Sabrina (Nikki AMuka-Bird), these "Four Horsemen" trap Andrew (Ben Aldridge), his husband Eric (Jonathan Groff), and their daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) in their cabin with a very specific dilemma; either one of them kills a member of their trio and saves the world from the impending apocalypse, or they refuse, and doom each other to wander a dystopian wasteland as the sole survivors.

With no means to escape, and a visitor sacrificing themselves every time Andrew or Eric fails to make a decision, none of the characters in Knock at the Cabin have easy choices. Even after the four visitors reveal their intentions, Andrew is convinced...

Dave Bautista Feels Like He Proved Himself As A 'Respected Actor' In Knock At The Cabin
Image
It's hard to argue that Dave Bautista isn't one of the most dynamic performers currently working right now. He has managed to create a varied filmography that plays with his strengths and public persona in interesting ways. Even if someone isn't a particular fan of his acting, it's always cool to see an actor actually have a filmography that proves their range.

"Knock at the Cabin" might be Bautista's biggest range test yet. The new M. Night Shyamalan movie casts him as the quiet and reserved Leonard, who arrives with four other people at a secluded cabin occupied by a vacationing family. There, Leonard and the rest of the intruders demand that one member of the family must be sacrificed by the end of the day in order to prevent the apocalypse. Even though this would be a daunting role for any actor to pick up, it's an especially...

Dave Bautista Reveals Zany Story Of His New Movie With Iron Man 3 Writer
Image
Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista teases his new movie project The Cooler from the co-writer of Iron Man 3. Bautista became a star as a professional wrestler, then became a movie star thanks to his dryly funny performance as Drax the Destroyer in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and later MCU films. But Bautista has made it clear that he’s glad to be wrapping up his time as Drax, and no longer wants to be typecast as the big, dumb, weird guy who says strange things.

It’s likely that Bautista never will fully shake off being associated with Drax the Destroyer, but it won’t be for lack of trying. In his ongoing effort to line up projects that challenge him as an actor, and help him shed the Drax image, Bautista just teased an intriguing new project that re-teams him with Hotel Artemis helmer Drew Pearce.

Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Faithe Herman in This Is Us (2016)
This Is Us Shocker: Tonight's Episode Pulled by NBC
Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Faithe Herman in This Is Us (2016)
We have some bad news for fans of This Is Us.

The episode scheduled for tonight, (January 19) has been pulled off the schedule by NBC, with the network opting to air an encore of This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14, "The Cabin."

No reason was given for the last-minute switcheroo, but it could be production-related.

This Is Us Season 5 kicked off later than usual, and episodes have aired sporadically as the series continues to produce fresh installments throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Still, the network has not revealed why the show is postponed, but there will probably be more small hiatuses as we head into the second half of the season.

More importantly, we don't have a return date, so it's possible this latest break could drag on for multiple weeks.

It's an unfortunate development, especially considering that This Is Us Season 5 Episode 6 was one of the best episodes of the series.

‘The Cabin with Bert Kreischer’ Review (Netflix)
Image
The first thing you will notice about the new Netflix original series The Cabin is that it is hosted by Bert Kreischer the stand-up comedian. The majority of people will know Bert for his famous routine about becoming an honorary member of the Russian mafia and shouting “I am the Machine!” as it was the only phrase Russian phrase he knew.

Now honestly I don’t enjoy his form of comedy but this show gives an alternative perspective on who he is as a person… The Cabin opens with Bert talking about his innermost feelings and how high stress the comedy circuit is which is not something that gets talked about a lot but is very important. It’s great to see – specifically a man – talking about his mental health struggles and dealing with fatigue which is essentially the fundamental premise of the show. Bert is supposed to be taking...

Felissa Rose
‘A Nun’s Curse’ Review
Felissa Rose
Stars: Felissa Rose, Damian Maffei, Gunner Willis, Kristi Ray, Jason Vail, Erika Edwards | Written and Directed by Tommy Faircloth

“Prisoners begged for mercy…they got nun.”

In horror cinema, groups of young adults always seem to find themselves entering spooky or abandoned locations… Will they ever learn?

Opening in a palette of creepy-cool midnight blue, Ashley-Kae (Erika Edwards) retells her nighttime childhood entailing her fear of the terrifying Sister Monday (Felissa Rose) hidden under the bed, in her closet, and in her head. In the present day, however, she leads a group consisting of her sister, her sister’s boyfriend, and a classmate. At first, in Ashley being a keen photographer, the group take a stop on their travels (much to the dismay of the sister and her boyfriend), so that Ashley is able to capture a few shots for her thesis, but that isn’t her only desire. Only...

This Is Us Stars Open a Time Capsule of Their Own With Audition Stories and Words of Wisdom
Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Faithe Herman in This Is Us (2016)
It was a blast from the past for the Pearson family on This Is Us. To celebrate the time capsule discovered in "The Cabin," series star Mandy Moore released her own version going back to where it all started: Her audition to play Rebecca Pearson. "I think I was one of the first people that they read," Moore said in her video posted to Twitter. The video, which you can see below, features Moore's taped audition to play the Pearson family matriarch on This Is Us. "The feedback was, 'They really liked you, but now they're going to go and read a bunch of women in New York and across the country and we'll hopefully hear back in a couple of weeks once they've done,'"...

This Is Us Recap: A Traumatizing Cabin Visit Serves Up More Time-Jump Clues
Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Faithe Herman in This Is Us (2016)
Very rarely is a time-capsule opening as satisfying as the one that happens in Tuesday’s This Is Us.

You can keep your historic newspapers and cultural touchstones: I’d much rather have a balled-up piece of drawing paper that leads to another clue — small, but significant! — in the show’s ever-evolving flash-forward to what certainly feels like Rebecca’s deathbed.

‘The Cabin’ Review (aka A Night in the Cabin)
Stars: Christopher Lee Page, Caitlin Crommett, Erik Kammerland, Thomas Hedengran | Written by Erik Kammerland | Directed by Johan Bodell

There are many many horror movies that centre around a cabin in the woods and unsurprisingly, The Cabin is another that can be added to that list. It’s not a very inventive title but neither was The Cabin In The Woods and that turned out pretty great so I was willing to give this the chance.

Unfortunately The Cabin has a much lower budget to work with so the story isn’t as adventurous as its similarly titled counterpart. What we get is a young couple driving to a cabin in the middle of nowhere to get away from it all. The cabin is owned by the boyfriends family and he has fond memories of weeks away when he was growing up. Sound familiar? That’s because it probably is, you...
