Trash.

Ignore all other reviews. 100% sure they were written by the director/ writer/ lead actor. This "film" is pure trash from start to finish, better quality content on youtube channels with 45 subs.

Not good is an understatement

Ok, so 2 minutes in, my stomach is turning from bad, exaggerated acting. I can't... who decides to make a movie like this? Do not watch this. DO NOT!

And for all these 10/10 and 9/10 reviews, you must be family members of the people making this... excrement.

Silly & entertaining

Clearly made in the same vein as classic old school comedies, such as Pee-wee's Big Adventure and The Jerk, this is a great chucklefest. If you like rooting for the nerds in your favourite teen comedies, this film is for you. Wonderfully silly entertainment.

Laughs upon laughs

What a wonderful character Marlo Lasker is. Funny, warm and reminiscent of the more innocent times of "nerd movies" that make us laugh out loud at their antics. The world will never get tired of having a laugh at the crazy side of human nature. So much fun

God Bless Marlo Lasker!

What appears to be a lovable nerd who's set on the girl of his dreams. Marlo Lasker at its best, is witty, heartfelt, and funny beyond all belief!

Watch this movie and you will surely not be disappointed!

Silly Comedy

This is a comedy that really goes for it. It's obvious that the filmmaking team on Marlo Lasker really put a lot of effort into the production. One of my first thoughts was that the film reminded me of Revenge of the Nerds, which is one of my favorite comedies. If you also enjoy those kinds of 80s comedies, then you'll probably really like Marlo Lasker as well. This film shares that same heartwarming aspect along with the similarly fun, over-the-top characters that made those movies enjoyable as well. If you're looking for a silly comedy then check out Marlo Lasker.

Never pegged Rich as a funny guy...how wrong was I!

Watched Marlo Lasker with friends. He was like a 2020 Revenge of the Nerds all rolled into one. Lots of laugh out loud moments, lots of heart, great character...loved it, and would recommend to anyone who really enjoys comedy.

Such a fun film!

I'll cut right to the chase! This little gem of a film gets a "Big" thumbs up from me! I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I thought the director did a good job with the pacing and I didn't find myself wondering off. A really solid job with casting. I thoroughly enjoyed the actors (I thought they all did a good job) and the story too! Bravo to all and again... this one get a "Thumbs Up" from me!!

Fun, hilarious, and heartwarming

Marlo is a silly, quirky character. In a classic tale of the nerd trying to get the pretty girl, this movie takes you on an adventure! Great laughs all throughout.

Hilarious 80s style comedy

Perhaps I'm nostalgic for those wonderfully hilarious comedies of the 80s, but Marlo Lasker brought me back to that time with it's zany comedic set ups and style. While I wasn't quite sure what to expect, a few friends recommended this to me so I decided to check it out and charmed I was!! Rich Rotella is an incredibly funny actor with both a grounded everyman sensibility and also a -what's he going to do next-unpredictability which made him uniquely charming. This film is an unexpected comedic gem and more people should see this! Highly Recommend!!

Love, Laughs and Cheesecake

Watch as Marlo peddles his way through life, love and jocks! Luckily he has some friends who have his back! Will he get the girl? You'll have to watch this funny flick to find out.

Hashtag Nerd Life!

So Marlo is a super fun character. My initial take of the film was that the filmmakers were fans of "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" as so many of us are. I really loved the tributes to that movie, as well as "Revenge Of The Nerds". We all have a little bit of Marlo in us, so it's always refreshing to root for the nerd. Very cute film and fun cast!

A funny nerd love story.

I really enjoyed watching Marlo Lasker. Writer, Producer, & Director Rich Rottela did an amazing job with his film and cast. This film certainly proves that sometimes the good guys do get the girl in the end. Lots of laughs. The music and editing were also on point.

Hashtag Nerdlife

Funny, irreverent and over the top, this comedy really delivers the laughs. Most indie comedies are lacking the main ingredient: laughs, but not Marlo Lasker. Rich Rotella brings to life a unique hysterical nerd who is on a quest to win the girl and defeat the jock, what's not to like about that storyline.

I thought the dialogue was really witty, the production value, editing, cinematography and performances were all super solid as well. I highly recommend this whimsical film.

A Sweet Throwback to Old School Character Comedies

I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into when I started watching this, but I'm glad that I did - it's a throwback to old school character comedies, such as the Pee Wee Herman movies and the early SNL films. If those kinds of comedies are your speed, give this one a try!

Fun Movie

Marlo Lasker is about a nerd that fights against people being mean to him because he's a nerd but his good qualities will have you rooting for him. There are also many low brow laughs throughout the movie that keep your attention.

Great Comedy!

What a fun film. Had me laughing out loud. Reminded me a little of Pee-wee's big adventure. Hope this is made into a on-going series. Would love to see more.

Modern Update of the Lovable Loser Film

From the deep historical well of lovable loser movies comes "Marlo Lasker," a film and a character with all the historical trappings of classic, ageless nerddom: From fanny pack to absurdly rolled-up jeans, this is a young man channeling equal parts "Napolean Dynamite" and "Revenge of the Nerds," and doing it in a way that's as over-the-top and as goofball as it is endearing.

Rich Rotella is behind the lens as director, and in front of it as Marlo. The character is a terrific shambles from the get-go, tripping over himself with all the exaggerations of the discombobulated while leaving a buffet of prerequisite catastrophes in his wake. That said, Marlo annoyingly but lovingly draws you in with his unwitting buffoonery, and soon enough, we know he'll bypass the bullies on his collision course with attractive women - the validating encounter for the socially awkward male ever since John Hughes' wonderful "Weird Science."

There's so much that's warmly and attractively familiar about "Marlo Lasker," yet there's an uplift and an indie methodology that makes this update of a time-tested vehicle something all its own. Highly recommended grass roots comedy. - Was this review of use to you? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!

Really Funny

I could make comparisons to other movies, like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Napoleon Dynamite or even Friday. But the truth is your should watch this movie for one reason... it's really funny. Enjoy.

Just Right Zany Comedy

As a comedy lover, Marlo Lasker immediately reminded me of classics like There's Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber. But Lasker takes things a step further by creating an incredibly lovable character. The film does this without sacrificing any of the zingers and zaniness you'd come to expect from a good comedy. This is all accomplished by Rich Rotella both playing the title character and directing the film. Hats off to him for so seamlessly pulling it all off in this film! If you're looking for a good laugh, this is the film for you.

funny and surprisingly touching

This great indie comedy made me laugh out loud quite a few times! With its sweet script and inspired direction (both by Rich Rotella, who's also excellent and fully committed in the lead role), MARLO LASKER is a fun underdog story that I highly recommend to anyone who's looking to unwind with a wonderfully silly feel-good film.

I laughed a lot!

If you need to laugh (like most of us do in these trying times), this is definitely a film for you. I found myself laughing out loud a lot! Rich Rotella is perfect as a socially awkward, incompetent, and sometimes too-smart-for-his-own-good "geek", a character that seems familiar, in a good way. Rotella's ability at physical comedy is particularly on point. The story isn't exactly original, but it doesn't have to be, as how Marlo reacts in the scenarios is the entertaining part. The story moves quickly and the awkward scenarios and laughs keep coming...a comedy I would highly recommend!

quirky, funny and worth a watch if you want a good laugh

Good film. This is a bit of a gem. Funny, heartwarming and well acted, this delivered many laughs. Yes, it is full of gags and stunts, but they not only work, but work well. It is a lovable loser film that has a bit of the 'Revenge of the Nerds' but tighter and funnier story. Director Rick Rotella does a superb job both in front and behind the camera. A difficult balancing act but he pulls it off. You will leave this rooting for the Nerds! Give it a watch!
