Lifetime’s spring slate of movies kicks off on March 4 with eight new movies premiering back-to-back through April 15.

The network today announced the addition of six original films to accompany, “Black Girl Missing” starring Garcelle Beauvais (also of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) and “Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story,” which will premiere on March 4 and April 8, respectively.

The six additional originals — “Girl in the Closet,” “The Hillsdale Adoption Scam,” “Twisted Sister,” “Every Breath She Takes,” “Giving Hope: The Ni’cola Mitchell Story” and “Drunk, Driving, and 17” — have a slew of stars joining the projects, including Tami Roman, Remy Ma, Jackée Harry, Tisha Campbell, Tamala Jones, Mena Suvari, Joy Nash and Keshia Knight Pulliam.

“Girl in the Closet,” “The Hillsdale Adoption Scam” “Drunk, Driving, and 17” and “Giving Hope: The Ni’cola Mitchell Story” are each inspired by true events.

A “very disturbing” true-crime movie branded “dreary torture porn” is getting released in the UK after six years.

Later this month, Paramount+ will add the film, titledGirl in the Box, to its streaming library.

However, it’s being noted that this film is not a new release and actually premiered on Lifetime in the US back in 2016.

The film tells the real-life story of a girl named Colleen Stan (Addison Timlin) who, while hitchhiking in 1977, is kidnapped and kept in a coffin-sized box for 23 hours a day.

When her captors, married couple Cameron and Janice Hooker, let her out of the box, they abuse her. Colleen’s ordeal lasted for seven years, during which time she was tortured and forced to sign a “slave contract”.

Lifetime has added Girl in the Shed: The Kidnapping of Abby Hernandez, starring Ben Savage, Lindsay Navarro, and Erica Durance, to its February movie release line-up.

Executive produced by Hernandez, the project tells the real-life story of her abduction at the age of 14 and how she survived against all odds. It serves as the network’s latest installment of the “Girls In” series which also includes, Girl in the Basement, Girl in the Bunker, and Girl in the Box.

All February films, beginning on the 5th, will roll out on Saturdays at 8 p.m. A sneak preview of the titles listed below will be available via Lifetime’s VOD beginning Dec. 26.

Fox’s “Prodigal Son” picked up its tale of twisted family dynamics with the premiere of its second season Tuesday, an episode that revealed what happened in the aftermath of the bloody murder that was committed by Malcolm Bright’s (Tom Payne) sister, Ainsley Whitly (Halston Sage), in front of her brother in the closing moments of the show’s finale last spring.

It turns Ainsley’s crime, stabbing the evil Nicholas Endicott (Dermot Mulroney) seven times, has been covered up by serial-killer expert Bright with the help of the siblings’ serial-killer father, Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen), who walked Bright through the process of cleaning up his sister’s mess over the phone from prison, after Bright sent Ainsley away to protect her from what she had done, which at this point, she doesn’t even seem to remember.

After a first season that's so good it's killer, Prodigal Son Season 2 Episode 1 premieres in January, and we cannot wait to see what delicious drama the series has next.

Can Fox Please renew Prodigal Son already and put our minds at ease!

If we don't get a second season after this, it'll be a disgrace. Especially since Prodigal Son Season 1 Episode 20 was one of the best installments of the series to date, and it unquestionably left of us wanting and needing more.

Martin has a new apple of his eye, and it's Ainsley. In the words of Martin himself, when he uttered "my girl" with glee, it was quite a thrill.

The hour was everything you'd expect a season finale to be, as it gave us some answers and closure, but it raised the stakes and left many of our beloved characters in dire situations and shrouded in uncertainty.

Malcolm came face to face with the Girl in the Box, but he's risking his freedom to protect her. Now, without any concrete evidence to clear him, he's still on the hook for Eddie's murder.

The hour was delicious on all fronts. The ballerina case was interesting with its twists and turns. It's a cutthroat world, so Javier's death was one of those cases where anyone could be a suspect.

It also had many noir elements to it that made it more engaging than usual. Fiona, with the pouty countenance and breathy tone, gave off a classic femme fatale or the Chanteuse vibe as the company's lioness.

Lifetime has greenlighted the original movie Girl in the Bunker, based on the true story of Elizabeth Shoaf, who was abducted in 2006 and held captive in a hidden underground bunker. From Girl in the Box‘s writer-director-executive producer Steven Kemp and executive producer Charles Tremayne, the dark, psychological drama stars Henry Thomas (E.T.), Julia Lalonde (Anne of Green Gables) and Moira Kelly (One Tree Hill).

Set to premiere at 8 Pm on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, the film will be followed at 10 Pm by the docu-special Elizabeth Shoaf: The Girl in a Bunker, which recounts the terrifying true story in Shoaf’s own words.
