J-Lo Ruined This Show

I enjoyed this show for the most part. The judges, however, were EXTREMELY biased. Jennifer Lopez was the worst. She played favorites from the start, any Latino group or boy group she found "cute". She scored the groups she liked exceptionally high, even if they weren't very good. And if she didn't like someone, such as Eva who is an incredibly amazing dancer, she would score them really low. Derek was the only judge who didn't judge based on favorites. Yes, he had favorites. But he judged fairly. That is another thing- the scoring was not consistent. The "reasons" for the scoring changed every round and were not consistent between groups. Eva Igo should have won. The other group had someone injured who danced in a wheelchair, and somehow won because of J-lo. So they moved on, and because of Jennifer Lopez's favoritism they won the competition. Eva had an incredible dance, they did not.

Great show, disappointing ending

I loved the show overall, Derek is super annoying but that is how he always is I guess ! Didn't agree with the final choices or winner. Maybe let "America" ( AND Canada) have one vote next time to ensure the viewers opinion is taken into consideration.

The winner seemed to be pre-determined in my opinion.

Finally, they upped the game all around!

(INITIAL REVIEW 5/10 - Season 1) Can't watch this because of J-Lo I enjoy dance competitions, and yes they've been done before, but I feel the focus of this show is leaning towards not the dancers, but towards J-Lo. I can't believe all the camera shots in the middle of a performance (so you miss some nice moves) that focus on J-Lo. OK we get it, you're J-Lo, but get over yourself and let's focus on the other judges - and the reason we are all watching this - the performances! I'd score this much higher if J-Lo wasn't a judge. But only a 5/10 because this shouldn't be about her.

EDIT #1 (Season 2) 2018: - Had to drop my score to a 3/10... I'm fed up of watching a J-Lo "look at me!" fashion show smh.

EDIT #2 (season 3) 2109: - Upped the score to a 6 this season due to the less focus on J-Lo and her outfits, plus the talent is showcased more and the cameras focus more on the performances than the judges. Still room for improvement, but better than season 1 by far.

EDIT #3 (season 3) 2109: - You know what, the producers and the judges really upped their game this season - big time. I love the redemption rounds and I really feel the judges true emotions - they give me gooseys lol. And the talent this season... WOW! Officially now my favorite dance competition of all time! Keep up the great work guys... you went from as low as a 3/10 to a 9/10 - REDEMPTION!

What the Hell is going on with WORLD OF DANCE?

AS MUCH AS I LOVE THIS SHOW, I JUST CAN'T WATCH IT ANYMORE. IT IS SO STRANGELY SCORED BY THE JUDGES ANYMORE AND THEY ARE JUST NOT BEING FAIR TO THESE AMAZING DANCERS. I JUST DON'T GET IT BECAUSE THE DANCERS THAT ARE WINNING THE DUELS DO NOT DESERVE TO WIN, AND THE JUDGES KNOW IT. THEY ARE DOING IT FOR THIS STUPID REDEMPTION ROUND BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THAT. GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. YOU WILL LOSE A LOT OF WATCHERS BECAUSE OF WHAT YOUR DOING & IT'S A SHAME BECAUSE IT USED TO BE SUCH A GREAT SHOW! I MEAN AN 83 JEN?? AND AN 87 NEO? YOU BOTH KNOW THAT THOSE DANCERS DESERVED HIGHER SCORES. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES..... DEREK, YOU ARE THE ONLY VALUABLE JUDGE THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS GOOD DANCING WHEN HE SEES IT!!!!! I DON'T CARE WHO THE PRODUCER IS, JEN, YOU WOULDN't HAVE A SHOW IF DEREK WASN'T ON "WORLD OF DANCE"!

Love this show world of dance

First most importantly the camera panning need to stop putting cameras to judges or see other reactions when a team or dancer is dancing. OMG this is so dam upsetting & frustrating put a PiP a little pic of judges below the TV screen with today's technology we should be able to see both at the same time its ridiculous we can't see the full dance. I do love all the judges they are usually really good with there scores and of course we will get mad at some scores and wish other dancers go through but overall they try the best love this show

Super entertaining

The coaches know what they are talking about. And this is one of the most entertaining competition shows out there.

Frustrating

Can be frustrating.Overall a decent show. Way too many commercials and I mean it's a ridiculous amount of them. More commercials than the actual show. Easy to tell who the judges want to win at times.

It is what it is

It's a flashy dance competition. Viewers get to see world class dancers perform.

Here's how it's very flawed. Individual dancers or pairs ARE ALWAYS GOING TO WIN. lock that statement in! It would take a miracle for a dance troupe to win this.

There should be at least 3 categories, where dancers in those categories can win.

Groups are fine, exciting to watch. It's a different kind of dancing. The groups are only as strong as their WEAKEST MEMBER. You are always going to notice that person who slipped, was out of sync. It's harder for 4-10-12 people to all dance in unison. To all be doing something exciting at once. Therefore its unfair to have the groups going up against the individuals and pairs. They'll always lose. It's just the nature of it.

You'll notice them praising a troupe to the moon and then barely getting above 80 scores " I loved the energy, you guys were so clean" here's an 80!

Same comments about a Pair?..here's your 95!

It's impossible for a troupe to impress the judges as much as a single great dancer. A really good example is a kid from Pairs suddenly dropped to a troupe this season and despite them getting rave reviews, barely made it through. Where as he and his partner made it way into the battles last year.

Other than that, it's not a bad show. It's just don't get your hopes up of ever seeing a group end up on top after taking on a bunch of world class singles and pairs.

ONLY reason I gave 9 stars not 10 is NE-YO. He's not as expirienced or knowledgeable as the other two. Twitch is SO much better, replace NE-YO with TWITCH

No Dancing!!!

Too many good people have been cut in favor of dancers who are not as good because of bad planning. They also skip over the majority of the acts in favor of providing unnecessary backstory and highlighting one or two people.

Instead of watching dance, you will be watching judges reactions.

It had potential (some amazing dancers were on the show), but it's not worth the watch. Everyone good gets eliminated early.

So Entertaining!

This is not like other shows. This is a television show for those who enjoy helping people with their passion, their expression, and to watch serious judges get down to the business. Pressure, lights, camera, and talent! Great music selections!!!!! I hope the judges will also dance, I'd love to see Jennifer Lopez dancing with Derek Hough and Ne-Yo.

Back for Season 2!

Really enjoyed this show last year. Set and dance choices remind me of Lady Gaga's Super Bowl performance....so the set mostly lends itself to "loud and showy." Soft routines barely have a chance. Last year Eva's performance with the construction set was pure genius. She could carry off a soft performance in a large venue. This would be a rare occurrence. So far this season we have watched two episodes.

An observation I'd like to make is that the lighting or camera "tricks" are simply unnerving to me. The movements now look "sped up" and jerky. I feel like I'm watching a strobe effect. So the performances now look animated and I do not care for this at all.

The judges are delightful. J-Lo is so stylish...love her outfits! The guys judging are highly qualified...I enjoy their input.

Last season I hope

Hope the hosts enjoyed their last season. All of America wanted Eva Igo (an actual American) to win and all of America now thinks the judges fixed the outcome. The fact that the twins who had a technically flawed routine with little to no synchronization yet still won has the entire group I watch with feeling cheated and having a bad taste in their mouths.

Not Fair

You know what I cannot stand about shows like this and also Do You Think You Can Dance and American Idol and The Chair Show:

When I was coming up and going to audition after audition, there was NO easy way to make it in an instant. You paid your dues with the sacrifice. These kids today don't sacrifice or even work as hard. They just show up at a television studio and boom on television or "Off to Hollywood". Where is the struggling, where is the starvation. Ask a person over 40 who lived and sweat in New York going to audition after audition and pounding those streets just to get into the chorus of a show.

The kids of today do not know what it is like to actually starve for your talent. I see these kids on these show come on for the first time and boom - right to the top.

Another problem with instant fame is that you cannot remember who they are.

The World of Dance has been on for what now, two years. Does anyone remember who won last year? Can't tell without looking it up huh.

What about Do You Think You Can Dance. I don't remember one person who won that competition. I cannot name one name.

Now, American Idol. I can only remember the people who didn't win, who went on to became famous. I know Kelly Clarkson, because she was the first. I remember Carrie Underwood, because she was became a county western star. Fantasia Barrino, because she was the first black to win.

The others didn't win, but I do remember because they were better than the winner:

Jennifer Hudson Clay Aiken Chris Dougherty Elliot Yamin Katherine McPhee Adam Lambert LaPorsha

Do you see what I am getting at. Look up the 7 people I just mentioned and look up who won that year and compare their careers. You will finally understand what I am talking about.

It's not about votes or who you pick, its about raw talent period. Those people on my list have won top Hollywood awards and are still working and making millions, not because they won a singing contest, it's because they are more talented than the winners period.

I would like to go back to old days when you had to actually work for fame. Today in 2018, all you have to do is sign up for one of the realty shows and BOOM you are famous.

That is why AI was canceled back in the day. People are really tired of these young kids making it, even if they didn't pay their dues. How in the heck can a 16 year old from Iowa pay their dues when their haven't even been out of their own town, even to experience the world. That is the reason most of these kids who win these competitions you never hear from them again, because they cannot face the public. How can you be good in your own skin, when you haven't gone through heart ache and rejection a few hundred times, to build up that wall when you do become famous.

If you travel through hell to get where you are, you can appropriate the fame so much better, because you can handle it.

That is why, you never hear from any of these kids anymore after the competition. You hear, they either got depressed and went back home or they just couldn't get that feeling of winning again, no matter how much they tried.

Go back to the basics, when everyone had to go from audition to audition until they finally paid their dues and no one was putting them on a pedestal to soon.

"Olympics Of Dance"

"World of Dance" is a talent competition featuring dancers of all ages and types, competing for a top prize of $1 million. As the title implies, the dancers are from all parts of the world.

Do not expect an "American Idol"-like vibe. These contestants are all accomplished.

The judges are executive producer Jennifer Lopez, ballroom champion Derek Hough, and Ne-Yo. All are excellent dancers and--more importantly--they are passionate about dance. This makes the show feel like a celebration.

The first episode features break dancing, ballroom, clogging, urban and contemporary. Only one performer did not exhibit prodigious talent in my opinion.

Divided into three categories, based upon age and group size, the contestants need to score at least 80 out of a possible 100 points to qualify for the second of four levels. After 10 weeks, one act will remain to claim the top prize.

Jennifer Lopez says they wanted to create an "Olympics of Dance" and I think they have. If Carnegie Hall featured dancing, it would look like this. If you, too, are passionate about dance, this show will inspire you.

Inspired

Diversity from 1 individual to pairs to to groups, amateurs to pros. A plus! Premise: inspired and exciting Judges: Top drawer! Light show: detracts excessively from viewers ability to see the articulated movements, grace of flow or separating individuals. Dance show or light show? Trust in the name: DANCE.

BIAS to the MAX

I just caught up with Tuesday's show on DVR, and Les Twins over Keona and MAri!!????.. What the heck?!!... You have an injured dancer, dancing from a wheel chair and winning?.. this show was starting to grate on my nerves and I was starting to wonder why.. Now I know ..it is completely biased, and with all due respect to Jennifer Lopez she has an agenda, which is where her high scores come in. Latin oriented dancers, pretty boys,...All of the really good dancers have been eliminated so far, maybe this show will be too..

Jlo and Ne-yo chemistry is a little awkward this season

I like this show. It's a feel good show that showcases a lot of great talent. The only real thing I feel deters from the second season is how Jlo treats Ne-Yo. She's dismissive and a bit confrontational. But otherwise, I love the concept and the talent.

Shut Up-and DANCE!

I agree with some of the reviews. There are. Ouch, enough lights in the back ground to cause a seizure from the viewer! But damn! From 10 to 20 something, it's all out talent. I feel my blood pressure go up because I'm so there. Although my body says Shut Up-and SIT DOWN!

Gypsy from way back.

Rigged

The best dancers did not advance and the scoring process made it easier for the judges to be bias. It was even more obvious with the Twins continuing to advance doing the same old "tired" routine and weak choreographically. Really!! this was a million dollar act, NOT! Eva deserved this more and way more talented, beyond her years. Show is Fake.
