Soul Eater is a dark comedic fantasy anime based on the manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, who also wrote and illustrated the Fire Force series. The anime focused around three teams, consisting of a Meister who could fight with at least one partner who could transform into a weapon. Their goal is to make a "death scythe" fit for Lord Death himself, who runs the academy these students go to. However, the process is a long and arduous one, and the path to victory is never an easy one to walk.
The anime for Soul Eater ended after 51 episodes in 2009. The manga ended a few years later in 2013 after 25 volumes had been released. Still, the anime left a delightfully spooky hole in fans' hearts once it came to a close, leaving those who watch anime to look for a new anime that fit that creepy but cool aesthetic Soul Eater had going for it.

Anime horror and supernatural classics like Vampire Hunter D and the Castlevania franchise embrace traditional vampire tropes and classic character types. If Dracula is featured, he tends to be incredibly powerful and tragic. Vampire romances generally have themes of temptation and self-control, and they often have angsty romances.
There are some anime titles that center on vampires who have relationships that go far beyond angsty into abuse and uncontrolled emotions. Anime like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure embraces villainous vampire tropes but complicates their characters with superhero-like powers and a creative origin story. They may be too experimental for some who prefer classic horror, but they're worth watching for those interested in creative interpretations.

Most audiences wouldn't associate a great vampire anime with the comedy genre, but Servamp makes both work. The show is rather polarizing, and people tend to love it or hate it.
