Jeremy Glazer and Miles Gaston Villanueva have been cast in recurring roles in the third and final season of Prime Video’s “Bosch: Legacy.”

Glazer will play Patrick Currey, a West Hollywood city councilman who uses his power to keep a tight lid on his sexual proclivities. When investigators start poking around his private life, he tries to ally with Honey “Money” Chandler to best position himself politically and legally.

Glazer is a prolific actor whose television credits include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Good Fight,” “Animal Kingdom” and “Modern Family.” His numerous film appearances include “Letters from Iwo Jima,” “Rust Creek” and “Save Me.” He has performed on stage in productions of “The Little Dog Laughed” and “You Can’t Take It with You.”

He is represented by Crimson Media and Allegory Creative Talent.

Villanueva will play Perry Lopez, a native Angeleno with a background in working gang murders in South Los Angeles.

Paramount+ has released a trailer for the forthcoming drama, which premieres with two episodes on Thursday, March 20; the eight-episode series will then follow a weekly release schedule. The footage sees Dennis Quaid don an orange jumpsuit as Keith Jesperson, aka the Happy Face Killer, who sits behind bars for his murderous crimes. Shrinking star Michael Urie has been tapped to host the Los Angeles awards event on March 27. And he said he’s “honored” to get the gig. “Our queer siblings across the country who are being unfairly persecuted and villainized deserve a night that reminds them that they’re not alone,” said the multi-hyphenate talent. “Media is one of the strongest tools we have to fight against stereotypes and hate. CBS has made a big decision on Elsbeth. Will the quirky investigator be back solving crimes for season 3?

Elsbeth was one of the bigger TV surprises of 2024. On paper it sounded like a weird idea: Carrie Preston reprising her Emmy-winning role from The Good Wife and The Good Fight as eccentric attorney Elsbeth Tascioni. Rather than have it be a legal dramedy, the series is instead a crime procedural of Elsbeth working with the NYPD to solve murders.

While ordered in May 2023, the series was put off due to the Hollywood strikes of that year. It premiered (appropriately) on Leap Day 2024 and was a quick success. The series did connect with viewers, mostly thanks to Preston’s delightful performance. It earned a second season renewal which premiered in fall 2024.

Usually, streaming shows and network shows are pretty separate and rarely mix even if the same company owns the channels. That’s what makes it notable when a streaming show will have a big premiere on networks as well.

That’s the case with Paradise as Variety reports that the new thriller, which will debut on Hulu on Tuesday, Jan. 28, will also get a network release as well. The first three episodes of the series will first premiere on Hulu on that day.

Then, on Wednesday, Jan. 29, the series premiere will broadcast on ABC at 10/9c. Following that, on Saturday, Feb. 1, the premiere will air on FX at 10/9c. After that, new episodes will drop only on Hulu.

Ever since her debut on a 2010 episode of The Good Wife, Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) has sung the praises of her son, Teddy, to anyone willing to listen, as well as everyone else in her vicinity. Now, fourteen years and two spin-offs later, Teddy finally made his in-the-flesh debut at the tail end of the December 5 episode of Elsbeth on CBS, played by Ben Levi Ross.

While a relatively new face for TV enthusiasts, Broadway fans might be more familiar with the young actor. He served as an understudy for the title character in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway before taking on the role during its first tour across the United States. Boom!, and Elsbeth marks his first regular television gig.

Carrie Preston first appeared as Elsbeth Tascioni when the hit CBS series, The Good Wife, debuted in 2010. She reprised her role in the Paramount+ spin-off, The Good Fight, and now the Emmy-winning star is back in a new city with a new job. The latest spin-off, Elsbeth, premiered in February 2024 and is currently airing its second season.

Formerly a Chicago-based lawyer, Elsbeth sees its title character take a gig as a consulting detective for the NYPD, solving crimes every week with her unique blend of insight, quick thinking, and even quicker wit. The show wears its Columbo influence on its sleeve, with most episodes revealing the identity of the murderer at the beginning of the hour. Against larger Hollywood trends towards embracing cultural identity, Jewish characters on TV are still depicted as hiding or playing down their Jewishness, according to a new study from USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center’s Media Impact Project.

The study, undertaken with the support of the Jewish Institute for Television and Cinema Hollywood Bureau, also confirmed that “Jewface” really does exist, noting that only about half of Jewish characters are played by confirmed Jewish actors. Rtl Group revenues dipped 5.5% to €1.34B ($1.42B) in the third quarter, as lower turnover at Too Hot to Handle maker Fremantle dragged the figures down.

Fremantle’s Q3 numbers were not revealed in the unaudited financial statement released this morning, and low advertising revenue was also cited as a reason for the fall. However, across the nine months to September 2024, Fremantle has seen its revenue fall 7.1% to €1.43B, with Rtl saying “the growth of the content market was lower than expected.”

Production and distribution giant Fremantle has also spent big on Asacha Media Group and Beach House Pictures this year, and Rtl CEO Thomas Rabe forecasted a “strong content line-up in the fourth quarter” will “significantly increase” full-year adjusted earnings. Fremantle is set to deliver shows such as Netflix’s Battle Camp, Prime Video’s Costiera, BBC series The Listeners and doc Vietnam: The War That Changed America in the fourth quarter.

These days, it feels like almost every new series has to kick off a franchise or inspire a host of spin-offs in order to justify its existence. Prime Video's The Boys spawned Gen V, as well as an animated anthology, Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone has grown the Dutton dynasty through two prequel shows to date, and we probably wouldn't have Elsbeth on CBS without The Good Wife or The Good Fight. When the Russo Brothers' Citadel initially premiered in 2023, it was confirmed as an "international event series," with spin-off shows planned in settings ranging from the Italian Alps to Mexico. Citadel: Diana, which dropped last month, further develops the Spyverse, with the bulk of the story featuring Matilda De Angelis' titular heroine set between Seasons 1 and 2 of the flagship show.

Brian Bonsall started acting on Family Ties when he was 5 years old, playing the role of Andy Keaton through the show's final three seasons.

He said of his time on Family Ties: "Good memories for sure. They were a second family to me, growing up doing that ... Michael J. Fox used to come pick me up in his Ferrari, taught me to dive into a pool. It was so comfortable hanging out."

The break helped him appear in more 1990s shows, including Father Hood and Blank Check, until he retired in 1995. He later shifted his career and pursued his passion for music with several bands.

Exclusive: The Broadway revival of Othello starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal has added to the cast with Andrew Burnap, Anthony Michael Lopez, Daniel Pearce (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Kimber Elayne Sprawl (Girl from the North Country).

The four will play, respectively, Cassio, Roderigo, Brabantio and Emilia. They’ll join the previously announced Washington, who plays Othello, Gyllenhaal (Iago) and Molly Osborne (Desdemona).

The new castings were announced today by producer Brian Anthony Moreland. Complete casting will be announced soon.
