Weird

It is a very strange movie and the plot was kind of hard to follow, It is good for very young kids, especially if they have their own guinea pig because it is easier to understand (kind of) it was kinda entertaining the first time watching it but after the first time it was pretty boring.

Creatively excellent family fantasy movie from Finland

I'm a 74-year old who bought Super Furball as a DVD at the Dollar Tree. I'm a fan of film, and especially animation, so went for it.

Super Furball is actually quite a story, as it involves the good little girl in school, with typical problems at home (divorced family, slob boyfriend, bullys and cliques at school) who seeks a pet. Gets a guinea pig.

Guinea pig leads to superpowers. If you see the film you'll see how. It works as a fantasy.

What gets pretty (more European complex) is that there's a mystery of the herring in the cove (important stuff in Finland, and yes, everywhere) are going wild, due to pollution. That's not a big spoiler, but it's important to the movie. In fact, the ecology message is rather complex and profound in a movie like this.

I'd say it reminded me in scope and style, of "The Christmas Chronicles Two". Which is a complement.

Finally, since it's dubbed English over Finnish, the mouths don't move exactly. Also, there is charming animations our hero makes in her notebooks along the way, and the words are in FInnish. And there's some FInnish pop associations. So it's an animation as adventure in another country's style, like going to a Vietnamese restaurant. Or a Chinese Restaurant on Christmas like Ralphie and his family do in the original great "The Christmas Story".
