In the ever-expanding world of anime, fans are eagerly awaiting news about the much-anticipated second season of “Chainsaw Man.” It has been over a year since the successful debut of the first season in the fall of 2022, and enthusiasts are growing increasingly restless for an official confirmation about the continuation of the series.
Despite the widespread acclaim and positive reception of Season 1, the lack of an immediate green light for Chainsaw Man Season 2 took many by surprise.
The first season only scratched the surface of the source material, adapting a mere 38 chapters from the ongoing manga, which currently boasts 148 chapters. This abundance of source material not only hints at the potential for a second season but also opens the door to the possibility of a third.
The production studio behind the anime, Studio Mappa, has been notably occupied with a slew of projects throughout the year, including “Hell’s Paradise,” “Vinland...

As series two introduces more time travel to the plot, things only get more complicated.
If your memory of all that needs a little refresher on what everybody was up to the last time we saw them, with series one spoilers ahead, read on.

Star Trek and The X-Files had many actors in common due to their episodic formats and the need for new actors each episode to portray aliens or monsters. Notable actors who appeared in both shows include Callum Keith Rennie, Mark Sheppard, Terry O'Quinn, Tony Todd, and Susanna Thompson. Other actors who crossed over include Kurtwood Smith, Penny Johnson Jerald, Denise Crosby, Andrew Robinson, and Anthony Rapp, showcasing the interconnectedness of these popular science fiction series.
As two of the most popular science fiction shows of all time, Star Trek and The X-Files share not only much of the same audience, but also many of the same actors. From the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the USS Enterprise-d to those of Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) and space station Deep Space 9, Star Trek had a presence on television throughout all of the 1990s. The director of the classic '90s anime Cowboy Bebop, Shinichirō Watanabe, revealed in a recent interview that he hopes to someday work on live-action.
When asked if he has ever wanted to direct a live-action production in his interview by Full Frontal, Watanabe responded by saying, "I do, but I didn’t really have any opportunities… Or rather, I had one, but it never happened. We didn’t have money, didn’t find actors, there were multiple reasons… But if I had another opportunity, I’d take it. I’ve always dreamt of doing live-action, and at first, I really hesitated between doing live-action and animation. I ended up doing animation, and my dreams there have kinda come true (laughs), so now I just have live-action left."

Emilia Harcourt, now a full-fledged villain with special powers, seeks revenge by killing Captain Boomerang, who had killed her in the past. Amanda Waller revived Harcourt using Lazarus Liquid and turned her into a weapon to eliminate troublesome villains. While Dceu fans know Emilia Harcourt as a lovable associate of Peacemaker, in DC Comics' continuity, she was actually a spy.

Long before Bruce Wayne's team of crime-fighters was overrun with Batgirls and Robins, the Caped Crusader had one man by his side: His loyal and long-serving butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Alfred diligently served the Bat-Family for years, from taking care of the Batcave, to tending the team's injured, and even picking up a weapon when needed. Alfred Pennyworth was beloved by everyone in the Family, making it all the more tragic when he was murdered by Bane. And while there have been the occasional teases that he could eventually come back, the faithful butler has remained dead for quite some time.

Veteran industrial act Godflesh have announced a new album, Purge, set for release on June 9th. The LP marks the UK band’s ninth album overall, and first in nearly six years.
Godflesh originally formed as Fall of Because in 1982 before changing their name in 1988. They are considered one of the pioneers of industrial metal, and are still led by longtime members Justin K. Broadrick and Ben “G. C.” Green.
According to a press release, “The title alone — Purge — references directly how songwriter and creator Justin K. It’s the next stage in a journey he has been on since he began creating music, feeling alone and like an outsider in any scene or group, from childhood through to adulthood.”

Warning: Spoilers for Lazarus Planet: Omega #1After making her DC Universe debut last summer, Dreamer is quickly becoming one of the most important characters in the Dcu. Though she began as a supporting character in the Supergirl television program, Dreamer is now a DC Comics hero in her own right, and the publisher is teasing the major impact she might have in the Dcu's magical corners.
DC Comics teases Dreamer's continued importance in Lazarus Planet: Omega #1 by Mark Waid, Riccardo Federici, Mike Perkins, Brad Anderson, and Steve Wands. This one-shot issue is the action-packed conclusion to the Lazarus Planet event, and it follows Damian Wayne as he primarily observes the showdown between the Justice League, DC's magic users, and their enemy, King Fire Bull.
The "good guys" triumph, of course, and the aftermath promises more Lazarus-induced chaos, as both magic and the Dcu at large have been seriously changed.

In the story 'Storm Damaged,' appearing in Lazarus Planet: Dark Fate #1, the Doom Patrol returns to the DC Universe with a new mission and a new incarnation of the Chief. Natalie Zea as Eve and Eoin Macken as Gavin Harris in ‘La Brea’ season 2 episode 10 (Photo by: Sarah Enticknap/NBC)
A woolly rhino’s grazing is rudely interrupted by the opening of a portal and a man stepping through as NBC’s La Brea season two episode 10 gets underway. But before we learn who just arrived in 10,000 BC, we learn Eve’s feeling better following her encounter with a bear.
Eve’s not well enough to walk around so Izzy (Zyra Gorecki) and Josh (Jack Martin) check on her in the bus. They have an argument about James, with Eve (Natalie Zea) and Izzy taking the “we don’t trust him” side while Josh thinks if James can help them get home, they should let Gavin work with his dad.
Lucas (Josh McKenzie) remains convinced Virgil had something to do with Wyatt’s murder. Veronica (Lily Santiago) trusts his gut,...

Last year, The Lazarus Project brought us all manner of time-looping and terror-fighting thrills – and, thankfully, you don't need to indulge in any chronological tinkering to see the next set of episodes. The show is coming back this year, and we have an exclusive first look at images from Season 2.
Heading into the new series, the fight to secure the future has never been more intense. In an escalation of last season's six-month time-loops, this time the world is set to end every three weeks, forcing the Lazarus team to race against time to find a solution before humanity is wiped out forever. Among their number is resolute Lazarus agent, George (Paapa Essiedu), who’s been left in disgrace after betraying the organisation in the name of love. Can George redeem himself and win back the trust of his team? And, more importantly, can he trust them?
The stakes are higher,...

Apple TV+ is kind of an oddity in the streaming world — it doesn't have the kind of draw as some of the big dogs like Netflix or HBO Max, but it does have some incredible original programming. Seriously, it's worth checking out for at least a month and binging all of "Mythic Quest," "Ted Lasso," and "Severance" out so far. Now it looks like there might be another reason to check out the streaming service, as Deadline reports that a new murder mystery series called "Lazarus" will be coming to Apple TV+. Why is "Lazarus" exciting? It's set to feature "Deadpool 2" and "Atlanta" star Zazie Beetz and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" and "Peaky Blinders" star Tom Hardy in the lead roles, which sounds amazing.
The series is still in very early development, which means that everything here is subject to change and will be updated as new information comes out,...

There’s a chance Tom Hardy and Zazie Beetz will team up to star in Lazarus, a serial killer drama series in early development at Apple TV+. I said, “there’s a chance” because the project is, technically, “nearing development,” according to Deadline. In other words, the ink still needs to be dry, and deals are still in the works. Lazarus is a co-production between A+E Studios and Range Studios, with plans to sell the package to Apple.
Based on the Joona Linna book series by Lars Kepler (pseudonym for Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril), Lazarus gives off The Silence of the Lambs vibes while telling a dark tale about murder and a search for the truth.
Here’s a description of Lars Kepler’s Lazarus via Deadline‘s exclusive report:

Exclusive: We hear that Oscar nominee Tom Hardy and Atlanta Primetime Emmy nominee Zazie Beetz are set to star in the Apple TV+ drama series Lazarus, a project which is still nearing development and closing deals. The project is a co-production between A+E Studios and Range Studios and being sold to Apple.

In the series, an emaciated young man is found wandering along a train track. Thirteen years earlier, he and his sister went missing, presumed victims of the notorious serial killer Jurek Walter. To find the sister, police detective Saga Bauer must go undercover in the maximum-security psychiatric hospital where Jurek Walter has been kept since his arrest years ago.

On the heels of being renewed for Season 3, NBC’s La Brea resumed its sophomore run on Tuesday night with back-to-back episodes that involved stampeding buffalo, a pretty random murder, a conspicuously sudden preponderance of red, star-shaped flowers, and the long-awaited revisiting of the Aaron storyline (!) we all came for.

When NBC’s La Brea season two finally returns from its long winter break it will be with an episode that finds Josh missing. While the rest of the group, except for Levi who remained behind, jumped into a sinkhole, Josh apparently either didn’t make the leap or was taken by someone as soon as he landed.
Season two episode eight, “Stampede,” will air at 9pm on January 31, 2023 followed by episode nine, “Murder in the Clearing,” at 10pm Et/Pt.

Warning: contains spoilers for Lazarus Planet: We Once Were Gods #1!With its new entry for the Lazarus Planet event, DC Comics is changing what readers should expect from superhero crossovers. The new event one-shot, Lazarus Planet: We Once Were Gods #1, focuses less on the massive battles fans often expect from such crossovers, and that's where the issue finds its strength.
DC has been gearing up for its latest event, Lazarus Planet for months, seeding the plot in books like Robin, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Batman vs. Robin, and Monkey Prince. But the massive, line-wide crossover officially launched with Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1, following the aftermath of a massive explosion of Lazarus Resin. The explosion is causing a series of Lazarus Storms and other natural disasters across the planet, meaning characters' powers are going haywire, especially those with science or magic-based abilities, though some non-powered characters are even getting new abilities.

"The question is: how are you still alive?" Samuel Goldwyn Films has released an official trailer for an indie film titled Lazarus, another indie superhero flick about a man who gains special powers. "A super powered vigilante fights an organization to free a city from darkness." From filmmaker R.L. Scott and actor Sean Riggs, who also produced this. A man is killed, but his death is a brief affair. Upon regaining consciousness, he discovers he has been gifted with extraordinary powers that allow him to super-heroically fight the organization responsible for plunging his city into darkness. Sean Riggs stars as Lazarus, joined by Costas Mandylor, Shane Brolly, Nicki Micheaux, and Mya. This looks like it has some badass action scenes, and I really dig the red eyes when he has powers. But is there anything more than just that? Kick some ass. Here's the new official trailer (+ poster) for R.

The Amazon Prime streaming service continues developing Image Comics' "Lazarus" (2013), the 'dystopian' science fiction title created by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark:
"...'Lazarus' is a coming of age story for a young woman named 'Forever Carlyle' who is questioning her identity. Its major themes are the meaning of 'family' and nature versus nurture.
"It is set in a bleak future where the world has been divided into sixteen large land areas, each ruled by one family.
"Each family rules their region in a feudal system that divides people into the three tiers, 'family', 'serfs' and 'waste'.
"The families have formed alliances to protect themselves from other families, and each family has a chosen warrior known as a 'Lazarus; who represents them in combat.
"'Forever' is the Lazarus for the Carlyle family. She obeys the family patriarch, 'Malcolm Carlyle' and has four siblings: 'Steven', 'Beth', and twins 'Jonah' and 'Johanna'.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two,” the “Batwoman” episode of the 2019 “Arrowverse” crossover.
The second hour of the CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover killed off another iconic hero — but brought one back.
After Oliver (Stephen Amell) sacrificed himself in event’s first episode, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Oliver’s daughter, Mia (Katherine McNamara), refused to accept his death was permanent.
In an attempt to reverse course, they recruited a very reluctant Sara (Caity Lotz) to find a Lazarus Pit in the multiverse to revive the fallen hero. Thanks to an assist from Constantine (Matt Ryan), they were able to bring back Oliver — but without his soul.
With the Pit revivals traditionally leading to extreme aggression, “it’s not just an easy transformation that you go in the Pit and then you’re back,” “Arrow” executive producer Beth Schwartz points out.

“It’s not what you do, it’s who you do it with” explains “Chernobyl” director Johan Renck. The director earned his first ever Emmy nomination for helming the hit HBO limited series. He spoke to Gold Derby from his home country of Sweden about the fulfilling artistic process behind the moving television event. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
The script for “Chernobyl” was “undeniably good” gushes Renck. Writer and creator Craig Mazin was a major reason why Renck felt that the project was a great fit for him artistically. The director greatly admired the “poetic and impressionist moments” in the story. This visual element paired well with Renck’s personal aesthetic.

Cristin Milioti is set as the lead in HBO Max’s Made for Love, a half-hour straight-to-series adaptation based on Alissa Nutting’s tragicomic novel, from Patrick Somerville and Paramount TV. S.J. Clarkson, is set to direct and executive produce.
Made for Love, based on Nutting’s novel, is a dark, absurd, and cynically poignant story of divorce and revenge. The series shows how far some will go for love, and how much further others will go to destroy it.
It follows Hazel Green (Milioti), a thirtysomething woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to Byron Gogol, an unstable, needy, possibly sociopathic tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has already implanted a revolutionary monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her, and know her thoughts and feelings as she tries to stay alive.
