Over the top critic's need to settle down with the 1/10 rating.
Its not that bad, but not a box office hit either.
Jackie just keeps the FUN in movies & the dudes in his 60's.
This movie being down under has the same feel as one of his 1st hollywood flicks in the 90' which was in australia. I think it was called "first strike".

Let me start by stating I'm a life long Jackie Chan fan and have watched all of his films even bit part and cameo appearances over the course of 30 years and as a rule would usually not have a bad word said about him or his films. However...
Like someone else had put in a review I actually came here half way through the film to check how this was being received as I was honestly struggling to get through the film.
***Mild spoiler*** The film starts with a standard plot a cop(special agent), dying daughter, opening exaggerated shoot out scene with some power ranger style bad guy which is where it introduces you to the Sci-Fi element of the film if you want to call it that. That was the first 15 mins and you'll see JC again for a brief fight scene about 10 minutes later and not again until an HOUR into the movie! This film has an awful plot and terrible dialogue so bad that it would make your budget look Oscar worthy in comparison. Even the humour which doesn't actually come from our hero is like kids show level. The twists are so obvious it's not worth calling them twists.
Now as I mentioned I'm a huge JC fan, I love the man and his movies but I can admit he has some weak films with weak plots and sub-par acting however JC can generally carry those film due to his humour, action and general likeability. another questionable choice is the sound design, I get dubbing the Mandarin speaking actors but some of the English actors were even dubbed. Simply every aspect of the film feels so cheap. Jackie has spent decades displaying the right way to film action especially fight scenes and Leo Zhang decided to forego that process and go for generic shaky/slow-mo shots. I won't even go in to the CGI just know that they even CGI'd in a photograph and that didn't even look realistic.
I came here at the middle of the film frustrated at how bad the film was and i'm now at the end of the film just disappointed JC put his name to this. If you love Jackie like most of us do then do yourself a favour and skip this, once a classic of his instead.

Serviceable action flick with trademark Jackie Chan fight scenes imbued with humor. It does seem to still be a product of the late '90s though. I liked the nugget of the plot, and some action scenes were real standouts even though they strained credulity. Decent enough overall.

I think the best part was the End Credits...
I am going to sum this movie in couple of words..
1- Too much bad Green Screen
2- Way too obvious Product Placement
3- Shaky Cam and Youtube style Cuts.
4- I would never have watched if the there was no Jackie Chan in it.
I like Jackie Chan. He, in his age, has done a lot for the movie industry and put Asia onto the map as well.
But this is such a poor movie. Poor acting and poor connection of all the storylines to make it coherent, too much action without building a character, jokes which are really not funny.
The last 5 minutes are okay. They are after the credentials, and show, how the movie has been made.
All in all, I regret that I didn't go into any other show.

There was no doubt about me sitting down to watch "Bleeding Steel" or not, because it is a Jackie Chan movie and I do like his movies quite a lot.
I must admit that I am a little bit puzzled about the fairly low rating the movie has managed to receive on IMDb. Sure, it certainly wasn't among the best of Jackie Chan movies, not by a long shot, but it was still a rather fast-paced action-filled adventure that we all know and love from Jackie Chan.
The movie had a rather simple storyline and it didn't really offer any plot twists along the way. And you knew the movie's outcome from early on in the movie, but it was still an enjoyable action ride to sit along on.
The stunts are as always top notch from the king of stunts himself, Jackie Chan.
As for the acting in the movie, well it was actually also fairly good for a type of this type and genre.
There was a good combination of action and light comedy throughout the movie, as it is usually always the case with Jackie Chan movies. So you know what you are in for here when you watch it.
It was amazing to see Jackie duke it out on top of the Opera building in Sidney, and that is something I never thought I would have seen.
This is definitely a movie well-worth a place in the Jackie Chan collection. And if you haven't already seen it, and if you are a fan of Jackie Chan, then I strongly recommend that you find the time to do so.

There's no getting away from it, this film is completely mad. But there's fun to be had if you enjoy some superbly choreographed action. It is it's only saving grace unfortunately. There's a variety of young and deadly female fighters spinning around in black pvc offering stern looks and cheesy dialogue. I've also never heard such a dramatic score amidst so much crazy action, which only compounds itself towards the end, if you make it that far! This film will make you cringe and smile in equal measure if the lust for crazy action keeps you on board. The Jackie styled energy still emanates throughout the film, but it's not an easy ride to stay engaged with.

Keep slamming Bleeding Steel with low score and bad reviews for all I care cause I believe even in the worst movie ever made if it starring Jackie Chan somehow he will make the best out of it and Bleeding Steel is an example .Yeah the movie plot make no sense at all and I couldn't care less about any of the characters but the fact that Jackie Chan still doing his own stunt in his 60s alone is wonderful enough for me not regret buying the ticket

What a lousy screenplay, man. If you watch carefully from the very beginning, Jackie Chan is actually the Executive Producer, his son is another producer, one of the female actors is also one of the screenplay writers. The scenario is ridiculous, about a invention of the artificial heart that can make half dead people resurrect from the dead. Lot of gun fights, explosions, demonic-like villains and globe trekkers. Since Jacki Chan has an Australian Passport and his wife a permanent resident there, he just like to use Australia as one the movie's shooting location other than Hong Kong.
This is a very childish and shallow action movie for the majority of video gaming generation, guys still live with their parents, eating instant ra-mien soaking in boiled hot water while still playing the video games. But if you really like Jackie Chan's movie, watch "The Foreigner" instead.

One of the worst movies I have ever had to endure in my life.
The script and plot is so poor I can't believe someone must have been paid to do it. Coupled with acting that makes you cringe the whole way through.
It's not Sci-Fi, it's not Action...it's just ridiculous and complete was of time.
Honestly couldn't recommend more strongly not to waste time with the movie.

I'd like to think of myself as a bit of a Jackie Chan fan, i've Enjoyed many of his films. But this one was so bad I had to turn it off. There's no continuity, Jackie is ok himself but the rest of the actors were terrible. Very disappointed.
I watched the dubbed version of this movie with my dad. Surprisingly, it's one of the few movies that actually has a good English dub. The fight scenes were also fun to watch. However, the story isn't that great. At some point, I even forgot this was even a sci-fi film. The storyline was all over the place. But I have seen worse stories. In my opinion, it's more of a 6.5/10.

Absolute tripe. I am surprised that Jackie Chan would even have considered this script let alone allow it to be released. His past presence in films with some poor scripts has made them bearable but this is a disaster. Fortunately for him he must be nearly at the end of his career so starring in this one will not affect him too much; lets hope he makes more to remove the bad taste that this left. Don't waste your time even considering to go and see this.

REVIEW - BLEEDING STEEL
The guy is in his 60s, how is he still doing what he's doing?
Another outing for Jackie Chan and another action film to enjoy without too much thought but enjoyable none the less.
Interesting story but of course marvellous action and fighting which is what Jackie Chan does so well.
If your a Chan Fan then watch, nowhere near as great as The Foreigner but a good film in its own right (The Foreigner broke the mould when it came to Chan films and can't be beaten).
Rating 9 out of 10

Bleeding Steel is a fast-paced science-fiction movie with solid acting performances, stunning visual effects and exotic locations in Australia and China. The highlights are the scenes inside and outside the Sydney Opera towards the climax and the scenes in the laboratory plane during the falling action. The movie has a concise length that never overstays its welcome. This highly entertaining movie with a big budget and a balanced mixture of rookie and star actors is much better than its critical reception because it manages to keep its audience on the edge of their seats throughout the film.
The story revolves around a young woman of Chinese origin living in Australia who has a mechanical heart and biogenetic blood substitutes unbeknownst to her that once saved her life when she was a very young child. She is tracked down by relentless criminals that have been looking for the scientific iventions in her body for decades. She is secretely protected by her father, a former police officer who works as a cook at his daughter's university. She is also mysteriously approached by a youngster who seems to have a romantic interest in her. The three parties involved will change the young woman's life.
The weakest element of the film is its story. Even if one considers this movie to be closer to fiction than to science, it still features poorly developed side stories, minor plot holes and highly exaggerated scenes that put the film closer to a juvenile fantasy flick than anything else. The dialogues are sometimes also of poor quality. The movie might therefore appeal to younger audiences but occasionally frustrate more experienced cinephiles. The scriptwriting of such a big production would have requested more care and details.
In the end, Bleeding Steel is an entertaining, lush and even spectacular science-fiction movie with numerous action scenes and atmospheric cyberpunk elements. Its only but major flaw is the subpar screenwriting with cringeworthy dialogues, several minor plot holes and poorly developed side stories. This entertaining blockbuster is good for what it is but far from leaving a lasting impression.

I don't know why he bothered with this movie, but at least he did well in his scenes for an old man! There's terrible scenes in this film, I don't know who thought they would be good outside of a Disney channel show. I have a feeling there were a lot of problems making this movie, but I can't seem to find any behind the scenes information.
I had fun fast forwarding to Chan's scenes. He's still got some moves!

This movie is so bad that it lets me wonder, if Jackie Chan is broke to agree on a role in such a bad movie.
I stopped at 43 minutes, because I couldn't take such a horrible acting and bad script with humor from the 80's. I don't know what movie they were trying to knock off, that's how bad they're knocking it off...
Why can't people just consult some guy who watched lots of movies before proceeding with a bad movie and spending much money on it? that's the least they could do

To be honest... this movie could have been better. But I really enjoyed it. It's nice to see Jackie in a sci-fi action movie like this... Thought he film as a whole doesn't make a whole lot of sense and there are about a trillion plot holes. And it's never explained how Andre and the Woman in Black have such advanced technology and even a freaking space ship in the year 2020 while everywhere else is more or less modern.
Jackie is amazing as ever, and still doing all his own stunts and is fantastic, even at the age of 64 now. (Hey my favorite number!)
Also the humor in the movie is freaking hilarious. I found myself roaring with laughter several times and almost peeing myself. Jackie's been doing this for over 5 decades now and he's really mastered how to get great slap stick humor down pat.
The movie itself isn't that great, and would definitely fall flat without Jackie. But he just brings so much to the table you can't help but love it.
