Religious fundemanetalism and homophobia with their claws on Brazilian Parliament; a gay leftwing MP was in the spotlight

Very important, encompassing and well done documentary about Christian fundamentalism and far right reactionarism and its homophobic crusade in Brazil, centered in the struggles in Lower House, where gay member of Parliament Jean Wyllys faced extremism from federal deputies such as Bolsonaro and Feliciano and from fundamentalist activists. Brazilian politics changed for (much) worse since 2013, and what the film shows is one of the core elements of that backlash.

Trivia
After the election of Jair Bolsonaro and the ascension of far-right wave in Brazil, Jean and his family received many death threats which led to his resignation from his third term on January 2019. Emblematic cases, like the assassination of Rio councilor Marielle Franco, illustrate the reason why Jean, the first openly homosexual congressman in the history of the country, feared for his life.
