i wonder why people saying this is a bad movie. the movie is nicely acted and the love story is a part of it. In comparison to the crap released today, this one is very nice and entertaining movie.
i hope people see it in neutral view. we should encourage such movies. off course there is some drama, but why not, its a movie. You can watch this with your family.

Definitely worth a watch in theater.a very enjoyable movie.yes it is slow paced in second half and first half is better.a film with its heart in the right place.you will not regret.late make this movie successful so that the message in it can spread.overall a good Akshay Kumar movie.
1. Must Watch. 2. The best Movie I watched after "03 idiots" & "Dangal". 3. Akshay at his best. 4. Bhoomi Pednekar is a delight for Hindi Cinema. She did more than excellent job. 5. Divyendu (Akshay's friend) is the best intake in comic role. 6. Anupam Kher is as usual at his best. 7. Sudhir Pandey did perfect justice to his role. 8. Script is well knitted & director has full control on the minutest details. 9. Each scene is well directed. 10. Akshay is redefining his own benchmark in each film. He has developed a perfect comic sense & timing to deliver dialogue. 11. Overall a genuine social cause has been presented in a perfect frame which penetrates deep into the hearts of each Indian, whether the person has a toilet in his home or not. 12. The best scene of Akshay in my opinion that moved the audience is, while the toilet he constructed for his wife, was ruthlessly broken by his own father.
OVERALL TOILET is a perfect combination of social cause & entertainment. movie deserves TAX FREE in all over India. Akshay you are already an inspiration to millions in many aspects but after this movie, billions would love you.

Over the years Akshay Kumar's choice of selecting the films has drastically improved. The actor has impressed in films like Holiday, Baby, Airlift, Rustom and Jolly LLB2 to name a few. Move over commercial masala potboilers with item songs, hero smashing 10 guys with a single blow and typical song-dance routine – Shree Narayan Singh's Toilet - Ek Prem Katha will give you goosebumps with the harsh-reality of Indian states without proper toilets.
Toilet - Ek Prem Katha tells the story of Keshav (played by Akshay Kumar) and Jaya (played by Bhumi Pednekar) who leaves Keshav after marriage when she discovers there is no toilet in the house. Keshav vows to bring a change in his village by driving social awareness on the usage of toilet and fight against the age-old tradition.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet -Ek Prem Katha catches your attention from the initial reels with light humor and feel good songs. However, the main story unfolds when Jaya discovers the absence of a toilet at the house. The drama gets more intense when she proposes to build a toilet at home which is vehemently rejected by her father-in-law. If the first half comprises of romance, family drama and songs, second half brings well-intention messages of usage of toilet in the villages. The screenplay does falter in between which could have better without few scenes and songs but nevertheless, the overall impact is pretty solid. Art direction is okay while Cinematography is decent. Though none of the songs are memorable but goes well with the film. Dialogues are punching while editing could have been better. Shree Narayan Singh does a good job in mixing the entertainment quotient with social message.
Akshay Kumar is probably at the best phase of his career. The brilliant actor just delivers another knock-out performance. Watch for him when he burst into tears after the toilet he was building, is destroyed by his father. I was surprised to see the transformation of fat-to-fit Bhumi Pednekar from Dumb Laga Ke Haisha. This is her second film and the amount of maturity she shows in her acting is astounding. Divyendu Sharma does well in a supporting role.
Toiet-Ek Prem Katha is a pleasure to watch not just for its satirical humor on Indian Sanitation system, but also for its beautiful message on honesty and bravery.

I myself never thought of watching this movie having a weird kind of name Toilet -Ek Prem katha....but once the movie starts and shows the struggle of two lovers just for a toilet....it becomes interesting at each and every moment ...the film never looses its grip from the story and keeps on astonishing with surprises and twists....Moreover the at each and every moment there is a logic for. Normally which we don't see in some of the third grade comedy movies...Songs also beautifully inserted into the movies without feeling you bored over there even if you are not a song lover.....More than this the movies ultimate aim is to fight against the narrow minded ness of the society which thinks a toilet can not be built in Home and that will opoosite of our culture...but the things it beautifully explains to those who think like this in their own language ...Thanks Akshay and his team for choosing this subject for the benefit of society and for viewers an ultimate comedy movie
