The Gardener (Le Jardinier), not to be confused with the Gary Daniels/Robert Bronzi film, reunites Jean-Claude Van Damme and David Charhon who directed him in The Last Mercenary. And like that film, it’s an action comedy, but with the comedy dialed up a bit higher, and the action a bit more on the brutal side.

This time out, The Muscles From Brussels plays Leo, a man who simply wants to tend to plants on the large estate owned by Serge Shuster Special Adviser to the President of France. Nobody seems quite sure how he ended up with the position, and they think he’s a bit odd, but he does a good job so they’ve let him stay on.

Exclusive: Veteran action icon Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to star in sequel Kill ‘Em All 2, which will shoot in the Caribbean island of Antigua from January.

The shoot is the first brought to the island by Italian producer Andrea Iervolino (Ferrari) after he was tasked last year by local authorities to grow entertainment investment opportunities in the West Indies, with a focus on enriching Antigua and Barbuda through film and TV shoots.

Iervolino is teaming up on the promotional push with Dario Item, Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to Spain, the Principality of Monaco, the Principality of Liechtenstein and to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (Unwto).

Following the events that unfolded in Kill ‘Em All (2017), the sequel will see Phillip (Van Damme) and Suzanne retired from the spy game, living peacefully off the grid. That’s until their whereabout are discovered by Vlad the vengeful brother of their target from the first film.

Longtime Metal Church drummer Kirk Arrington died Monday, May 22nd, at the age of 61.

The band shared the news of Arrington’s passing in a social media statement on Monday night, writing, “We just received the sad news, Kirk Arrington passed away this morning due to health issues. Rip in brother! See you on the other side….#Rip #legend #gonetoosoon #MetalChurch #drummer”.

In 2006, Arrington exited Metal Church due to health issues stemming from years of coping with diabetes. Since then, his post behind the kit has been assumed by Jeff Plate and Stet Howland (W.A.S.P.), who is the group’s current drummer.

Metallica’s upcoming “M72 World Tour” will hit the big screen live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in cinemas worldwide on Friday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 20th.

The event, dubbed Metallica: M72 World Tour Live From Arlington, TX – A Two Night Event, will present the band playing two nights with two different setlists. Moreover, the setlists will feature songs comprising the band’s full career, from 1983’s Kill ‘Em All to 2023’s 72 Seasons. According to a release, the band won’t play a single song twice, so they’ll play more than 30 songs across both nights. In other words, it’s exactly how Metallica are running their “M72 World Tour” (tickets available here).

Those subjects are nothing new to them (see “The Unforgiven,” “Dyers Eve”), but now that frontman James Hetfield and his bandmates hover around age 60, they’re seeing their journey to adulthood differently.

Dave Mustaine has once again opened up about the tempestuous relationship between himself and his former bandmates in Metallica.

The long-running feud between Mustaine and Metallica has been documented ad nauseam. In 1983, Metallica fired Mustaine, who went on to form Megadeth. Metallica would end up being the more commercially successful act, and Mustaine would harbor a bitterness over his unceremonious ousting after helping launch Metallica and penning their earliest songs — including much of their debut album Kill ‘Em All.

Over the years, concessions have been made to reconcile things, i.e. Mustaine appearing in Some Kind of Monster and Megadeth and Metallica joining forces for a series of “Big 4” shows with Slayer and Anthrax. But salty remarks from Mustaine in a new interview with Guitar World indicate that he’s still indignant.

“I wanted things to be reconciled and to be friends,” Mustaine said. “But for whatever reason, they didn’t.

Lars Ulrich paid tribute to Jon Zazula, the co-founder of Megaforce Records which released the first two Metallica albums, following news of Zazula’s death Tuesday at the age of 69.

Jon Zazula, co-founder of Megaforce Records, which released the first two Metallica records and was home to numerous influential metal acts, died Tuesday. He was 69.

A rep for Megaforce confirmed Zazula’s death to Rolling Stone, adding that the cause of death was complications of the rare neuropathic disorder Cidp, Copd and osteopenia. Zazula died just over a year after his wife and Megaforce co-founder, Marsha Zazula, died of cancer in January 2021.

Netflix has tapped Victoria Mahoney to direct its sequel to “The Old Guard,” the superhero action-adventure led by Charlize Theron.

Victoria Mahoney has landed her first big studio feature directing gig. Mahoney, who served as the second unit director on last year's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is being eyed to helm Kill Them All for Paramount Pictures. The movie will be based on the graphic novel of the same name, which was written by Kyle Starks and published by Oni Press in 2017.

According to a new report, Victoria Mahoney is currently in talks to direct Kill Them All. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, who have worked on the Mission: Impossible and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchises, are set to produce. James Coyne penned the screenplay. There is no word yet on potential casting, nor is it clear how soon the studio could be looking to begin production. Victoria Mahoney, the first woman ever to work behind the camera on a “Star Wars” film, is in talks to make her major studio feature directorial debut on “Kill Them All” for Paramount.

“Kill Them All” is Paramount’s adaptation of a graphic novel by Kyle Starks. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, are producing the project, from a script by James Coyne. “Kill Them All” first started out as a project launched on Kickstarter before being acquired by Oni Press.

“Kill Them All” centers on a hard drinking, former cop who wants his job back and the world’s greatest assassin who wants revenge. They can get both if they fight their way to the top floor of a skyscraper of crime – and if they can Kill Them All. It’s like a reverse “Die Hard” except they’re fighting up into the building rather than trying to fight their way out.
