The Gardener (Le Jardinier), not to be confused with the Gary Daniels/Robert Bronzi film, reunites Jean-Claude Van Damme and David Charhon who directed him in The Last Mercenary. And like that film, it’s an action comedy, but with the comedy dialed up a bit higher, and the action a bit more on the brutal side.
This time out, The Muscles From Brussels plays Leo, a man who simply wants to tend to plants on the large estate owned by Serge Shuster Special Adviser to the President of France. Nobody seems quite sure how he ended up with the position, and they think he’s a bit odd, but he does a good job so they’ve let him stay on.

On Christmas day, Netflix gifted action movie lovers the latest revenge tale, Kill 'em All 2, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Despite turning 65 this year, The Muscles from Brussels still has the balletic grace and acrobatic maneuvering fans have come to know and love since the 1980s. The story continues seven years after the 2017 action thriller Kill 'em All left off, pitting Jcvd's Philip against a ruthless Franco-Russian terrorist hell-bent on revenge.
Kill 'em All 2 introduces new characters not in the original, including a mysterious figure named Vanessa (Jaqueline Fernandez). While drips and drabs of background info come to light in the film, it's easy to miss how she relates to the main plot. As such, it's time to highlight Vanessa in Kill 'em All 2 and discuss who she is, her role, and how her relationship with Philip (Jcvd) informs the story.

Jean-Claude Van Damme does not always star in his own franchise sequels, but the legendary action star appears in Kill ‘Em All 2, which is currently trending on Netflix. Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of the world’s most iconic 1980s action stars, but while many of his movies began franchises, he does not always star in their sequels. Van Damme’s movies have often been described as “the most remade” of all time, based on the success of their franchises. However, until Kill ‘Em All 2, Jean-Claude Van Damme had only played three recurring characters.
In Kill 'Em All 2, Van Damme reprises his role as Philip, a former spy on a revenge mission. The movie takes place seven years after Kill 'Em All, with Philip discovering that the brother of one of the men he killed in the original film is also out for revenge. The cast of...

Jean-Claude Van Damme's 'Kill 'Em All 2' is a Streaming Hit Despite Terrible Rotten Tomatoes Reviews
Jean-Claude Van Damme's latest action film, Kill 'em All 2, has taken little time to prove the Muscles from Brussels has still got it – even when the movie is a complete mess. Landing on Netflix on December 25, the sequel to Van Damme’s 2017 action movie sees him reprise his role as retired CIA operative Phillip, as he is – you guessed it – pulled back into another high-stakes battle for survival.
Directed by Valeri Milev and written by James Agnew, Kill 'Em All 2 picks up seven years after the events of the original film, with Phillip now living a peaceful life in Italy with daughter, Vanessa (Jacqueline Fernandez). It does not take long for that peace to evaporate like the Rotten Tomatoes scores of many Van Damme movies, as the brother of one of Phillip’s former enemies comes seeking revenge and things take a violent and action-packed turn.

Jean-Claude Van Damme's Kill 'Em All 2 gained popularity on Netflix, and it's largely due to the film's talented cast. The Kill 'Em All series follows Phillip (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a former spy who decided to take revenge against some criminals who escaped from the former Yugoslavia. Seven years after the original Kill 'Em All, Phillip and his estranged daughter Vanessa (Jacqueline Fernandez) are attacked by the brother of one of the men Phillip killed in the first film. The result was an action-packed romp that could be one of the best action movies on Netflix.
Though Jean-Claude Van Damme is the main attraction of Kill 'Em All 2, the movie actually has a surprisingly deep and talented cast of actors. From Bollywood stars to renowned foreign-language voice actors, Kill 'Em All 2 is bursting at the seams with international celebrities. Those skilled actors certainly helped the movie reach...

In 1997, action star Jean-Claude Van Damme starred in the infamous action-comedy film Double Team. The film was critically panned upon release, leading to multiple Razzie Awards. Now, Double Team is on its way to a new streaming home.
Double Team will be free to stream on Tubi on January 1st. Originally released 27 years ago, on April 4th, 1997, Double Team, directed by Tsui Hark, starred Van Damme and Dennis Rodman as a pair of counter terrorists trying to thwart a terrorist kidnapper played by Mickey Rourke. Action movie fans now know what Netflix is getting them for Christmas, as the latest movie from martial arts icon Jean-Claude Van Damme is now all set to land on the streaming platform on December 25, 2024. As per a report by What’s on Netflix, Kill ‘Em All 2 “will stream on Netflix in the United States as part of the Sony Pictures first window deal for 18 months," landing on the platform just in time to make the perfect festive family viewing. Plot: Phillip (Jean-Claude Van Damme) comes face to face with a Russian-French terrorist who comes to exact vengeance on him for killing his brother.
Review: It’s important to meet a film on the same level that it’s presenting itself to you. Going into an A24 movie and expecting a heartfelt family romp may not be the best choice. And going into a Jcvd in 2024, you have to expect little story, rough acting, and plenty of action. Sure, can something surprising happen? Absolutely, and those days are glorious. But more often than not, the action is what matters and everything else is off to the wayside. And then there are times where nearly nothing works and it just leaves you going: how did this even get made? Sadly, that accurately describes Kill ‘Em All 2.

Monika Bacardi and longtime business partner Andrea Iervolino, producers on dozens of movies including Ferrari and To The Bone, have entered into a war of words and legal saber rattling following their recent split.
The producers were longtime partners at prolific Italian production and distribution company Ilbe (Iervolino & Lady Bakardi Entertainment), but Bacardi is unhappy following the latter’s recent announcement of his new company.
Iervolino announced earlier this week that he was stepping back from Ilbe to launch film and TV outfit The Andrea Iervolino Company (Taic). Among projects noted on the slate were a Maserati biopic written and directed by Bobby Moresco, and the biopic Ferrari vs Mercedes, also directed by Moresco.

“Say ‘Hi’ to Brian, Oslo!” announced frontman James Hetfield over the Pa before declaring it “Flying V time,” in reference to Tatler’s axe of choice.
The founding Diamond Head guitarist got dibs on the iconic opening tritone riff while Hetfield and Kirk Hammett laid down the propulsive rhythmic chugs. They eventually all synchronized to form a triple guitar attack, guiding the nearly nine-minute song to its epic conclusion.

Good, bad, and ugly — The Vampire Diaries had characters that fell on all parts of the morality spectrum. The CW show was largely full of villains and anti-heroes, but there were a select few characters who were the good guys. Elena, Stefan, and Bonnie were some of the Mystic Falls players who were considered virtuous in The Vampire Diaries, but they could also fall off the wagon.
Some of the more contentious actions of the upstanding characters of the fantasy drama were swept under the rug because they had largely been good, but fans didn't forget these. From large-scale genocides to medical malpractice, some of these characters' actions made fans uncomfortable.

As previously reported, Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden kicked off the festival on Friday (October 6th), while AC/DC (playing their first show in seven years) and Judas Priest rocked the middle day on Saturday (October 7th).
Tool took the stage first on Sunday at Empire Polo Club, having previously played the first-ever Coachella festival there in 1999 and Coachella again in 2006.
Kicking things off with “Jambi” from 10,000 Days, Tool performed a career-spanning 12-song set that included songs from their debut full-length album, Undertow, through their latest effort, 2019’s Fear Inoculum. Of all their albums,...

Lars Ulrich was only 19 when Metallica released their speed limit–defying debut, Kill ‘Em All, in 1983. On each successive album, the metal musicians waited for the mainstream to come to them. Then, their 1991 “Black Album” became the bestselling album of the past three decades thanks to songs like “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters.” Every album they’ve put out since has gone to Number One or Two, and their Eighties anthem “Master of Puppets” recently enjoyed a renaissance thanks to Stranger Things.

Finnish writer-director Jalmari Helander returns with an outrageously violent and deliriously entertaining WWII action movie that’s an absolute must-see if you’re a fan of exploding Nazis. An inspired mash-up of Inglourious Basterds, Road Runner cartoons and Liam Neeson vengeful-old-man thrillers, it’s a wild ride from beginning to end.
Sisu opens with a caption that explains the title as an untranslateable Finnish word for “a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination … [manifested] when all hope is lost.” A further caption then sets the scene – it’s 1944 and the defeated Nazis are retreating from Finland, but not without destroying everything in their path.
We’re then introduced to grizzled prospector Aatami (Jorma Tommila), described by a voiceover as “one man who has decided to leave the war behind him, for good.” Accompanied...

If you were to take the smooth vocals of Iron Maiden, the in your face brooding metal and hard partying ways of Black Sabbath with a sprinkle of the epic guitar riffs of Led Zeppelin into a blender, the result may be something close to the band that would redefine the face of music in the early 1980’s. A band that became so massive that in 2013 they became the first musical act to ever perform on every continent when they performed live in Antarctica. A band whose hard partying ways and love of Jägermeister helped usher in the age of the hard partying rock stars. But how do you get to be known as one of the biggest musical acts to ever exist? By putting out consistently great music, that’s how! But do they still rock? Do the cool kids still listen to them? Lets find out Wtf Happened to Metallica?...

Original Metallica bassist Ron McGovney recently offered praise to a former bandmate while tweeting about the legendary metal act’s early demo No Life ‘Til Leather: “Dave Mustaine just kills it on this tape … He leaves the rest of us in the dust.”
Although both McGovney and Mustaine never played on a proper Metallica album, the latter’s name did appear in the writing credits for several tracks on their first two records.
During our recent chat with the Megadeth frontman about his signature Gibson Collection (enter a giveaway for a Kramer or Epiphone guitar below), Mustaine returned kind words to McGovney.
“Well, I’ve always loved Ron,” Mustaine said. “And I was pretty vocal about how I felt when we would come home from the Bay Area, James and Lars would always pick on Ron. … And it made me resent James [Hetfield] and Lars [Ulrich]. They’re drinking vodka from a...

Longtime Metal Church drummer Kirk Arrington died Monday, May 22nd, at the age of 61.
The band shared the news of Arrington’s passing in a social media statement on Monday night, writing, “We just received the sad news, Kirk Arrington passed away this morning due to health issues. Rip in brother! See you on the other side….#Rip #legend #gonetoosoon #MetalChurch #drummer”.
In 2006, Arrington exited Metal Church due to health issues stemming from years of coping with diabetes. Since then, his post behind the kit has been assumed by Jeff Plate and Stet Howland (W.A.S.P.), who is the group’s current drummer.
Arrington joined Metal Church in the early 1980s prior to the band signing to Elektra and dropping its seminal self-titled album in 1984. Songs like “Beyond the Black” are early examples of the thrash/speed metal style, and the LP — which had future Pantera producer Terry Date behind the...

Metallica’s upcoming “M72 World Tour” will hit the big screen live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in cinemas worldwide on Friday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 20th.
The event, dubbed Metallica: M72 World Tour Live From Arlington, TX – A Two Night Event, will present the band playing two nights with two different setlists. Moreover, the setlists will feature songs comprising the band’s full career, from 1983’s Kill ‘Em All to 2023’s 72 Seasons. Yellow and black are the colors of caution signs, fallout shelters, and “Baby on Board” placards — warnings of imminent menace and catastrophe if you don’t get your shit together. So it’s fitting that Metallica would adopt the color scheme for the cover of 72 Seasons, their meditation of sorts on the cruelty of youth and the dangers of growing up. Those subjects are nothing new to them (see “The Unforgiven,” “Dyers Eve”), but now that frontman James Hetfield and his bandmates hover around age 60, they’re seeing their journey to adulthood differently.

Dave Mustaine has once again opened up about the tempestuous relationship between himself and his former bandmates in Metallica.
The long-running feud between Mustaine and Metallica has been documented ad nauseam. In 1983, Metallica fired Mustaine, who went on to form Megadeth. Metallica would end up being the more commercially successful act, and Mustaine would harbor a bitterness over his unceremonious ousting after helping launch Metallica and penning their earliest songs — including much of their debut album Kill ‘Em All.
Over the years, concessions have been made to reconcile things, i.e. Mustaine appearing in Some Kind of Monster and Megadeth and Metallica joining forces for a series of “Big 4” shows with Slayer and Anthrax. But salty remarks from Mustaine in a new interview with Guitar World indicate that he’s still indignant.
“I wanted things to be reconciled and to be friends,” Mustaine said. “But for whatever reason, they didn’t.

Netflix has tapped Victoria Mahoney to direct its sequel to “The Old Guard,” the superhero action-adventure led by Charlize Theron.
“The Old Guard” premiered on Netflix in July 2020 and, by the streaming service’s vague metrics, appears to have been a hit, garnering 78 million views in its first four weeks. Along with Theron, the returning cast will include KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Gina Prince-Bythewood directed the first film, based on the comic book by Greg Rucka, but opted not to return for the follow-up because she’s busy working on several projects, including Sony’s “The Woman King” starring Viola Davis. Prince-Bythewood was eager to pass the reins to Mahoney, who recently served as second unit director on the J.J. Abrams-directed “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

At every Metallica show since the Eighties — before the riffs, solos and drum fills — there’s a rumble of timpani and piano and the lonesome keen of an oboe. Those instruments comprise the opening moments of composer Ennio Morricone’s “The Ecstasy of Gold,” one of his most famous compositions from one of his most famous works — the score for 1966’s The Good, the Bad and the Ugly — and it’s served as Metallica’s walk-on music for nearly four decades.

I’m guessing that the fact Bennett was on UK screens as part of World of Sport wrestling And had a huge name presence thanks to his former WWE career didn’t hurt either.

Victoria Mahoney, the first woman ever to work behind the camera on a “Star Wars” film, is in talks to make her major studio feature directorial debut on “Kill Them All” for Paramount.
“Kill Them All” is Paramount’s adaptation of a graphic novel by Kyle Starks. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, are producing the project, from a script by James Coyne. “Kill Them All” first started out as a project launched on Kickstarter before being acquired by Oni Press.
“Kill Them All” centers on a hard drinking, former cop who wants his job back and the world’s greatest assassin who wants revenge. They can get both if they fight their way to the top floor of a skyscraper of crime – and if they can Kill Them All. It’s like a reverse “Die Hard” except they’re fighting up into the building rather than trying to fight their way out.
