The Lost Soldier (2017)

Trivia

The Lost Soldier

Edit
The air raid on Tokyo depicted at the beginning of the film is apparently the Doolittle Raid of 18 April 1942, in which sixteen B-25 Mitchells were launched from the USS Hornet to attack targets in Tokyo and Yokohama in retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor four months earlier. The raid did little damage but served as an important propaganda tool for the US.
Early in the movie, Nunu, the daughter, describes Emile Hirsch's character as a giant. Yifei Liu, her character's mother, and Emile Hirsch are the same height.

Just wanted to add that the use of the word "giant" can be both descriptive and metaphorical. The audience is hearing the words of a young girl who has never seen an American before, a "type" that was probably mythical for her, so her impression is a legitimate one, if not objectively correct.
