Trivia

Landline

Edit
For the look of the characters' outfits, costume designer Liz Vastola took inspiration from Seinfeld to achieve an accurate depiction of 90s fashion.
Gillian Robespierre and Elisabeth Holm both admit to raiding their mothers' respective wardrobes to obtain costumes for the film.
For the scene in which Ali goes to a rave, the club featured was a re-creation of The Shelter, a now-defunct all-ages club in which Gillian Robespierre used to frequent as a teen.
Robespierre and Holm decided to set the film in the 1990s partly because that was the era in which they grew up and partly to avoid any clichés of relationships being fueled by texting, dating apps, and social.
Co-writers Gillian Robespierre and Elisabeth Holm described the film as a "comedy about a family that grows closer through divorce rather than being torn apart."
