Vanessa Lachey broke down in tears while discussing how therapy helped her become a better partner to husband Nick Lachey. The emotional display came during season 2, episode 6 (“The Changeover”) of Netflix’s “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On”, when the show’s co-host shared with the four remaining couples why it’s so important for a relationship to not only lean on your partner but also trust them.
The “NCIS: Hawaii” star and her husband were intently listening to Riah explain why she didn’t get the full trial marriage experience with James, who ultimately revealed he couldn’t give it his all because he didn’t know how to be vulnerable and be open about a painful childhood experience that spilled over into his young adult life.

The Nine Network screened just two first-release Australian dramas – Seachange and Bad Mothers – last year and had to rely on New Zealand imports to fulfill the local drama quota.
Kiwi series The Brokenwood Mysteries, Straight Forward, Westside, The Bad Seed and Dear Murderer and feature film The Changeover aired on 9Gem, accounting for 50 per cent of the network’s local drama obligations.
Conversely, Nz dramas accounted for only 5 per cent of Network 10’s local drama hours and and 10 per cent of the Seven Network’s, according to the Australian Communications and Media Authority’s 2019 Compliance with Australian Content Standard and Children’s Television Standard report issued last week.
The report prompted Screen Producers Australia to renew its attack on Australian broadcasters’ continued reliance on “cheap, second-run New Zealand programs” to acquit their local Australian content obligations.

A confetti-like assemblage of different horror and fantasy components blended together, “The Changeover” borrows a little bit of everything to carve out a unique path for itself, even if it ultimately leads nowhere. And while Y.A. audiences might find the “Twilight”-esque tortured high school romance angle appealing, most will walk away from this one feeling like they got a greatest hits version of three different, better movies.

A young woman finds her inner strength in Miranda Harcourt & Stuart McKenzie's dark fantasy film The Changeover. Based on a popular 1984 novel by Margaret Mahy, The Changeover follows the plucky sixteen-year-old Laura Chant (Erana James) as she tries to save her young brother from an ancient curse. Standing in her way is Carmody Braque (Timothy Spall), an ageless spirit who poses as an antique dealer as a way of luring unwitting souls to their doom. Before she can save her brother, she must realize her own destiny and gain access to an inborn power that she doesn't know how to harness. The story is a well-known one in New Zealand, where it was written and where it is based, and so it's surprising that...

Here’s the trailer for an interesting upcoming New Zealand horror film called The Changeover. The story centers on a young teen girl who finds herself facing off with an ancient evil spirt to save her younger brother.
This is more on the low-budget end of spectrum, but it still looks like it tells an interesting story that I’d enjoy. I’m curious to see how this story plays out. Here’s the synopsis:
Sixteen year-old Laura Chant lives with her mother and four-year-old brother Jacko in a poor new suburb on the edge of a partially demolished Christchurch, New Zealand. Laura is drawn into a supernatural battle with an ancient spirit who attacks Jacko and slowly drains the life out of him as the spirit becomes ever younger. Laura discovers her true identity and the supernatural ability within her, and must harness it to save her brother's life.

"This kind of power has to be invited..." Vertical Entertainment has debuted a new official Us trailer for an indie horror thriller from New Zealand titled The Changeover, which is finally getting a release in the Us almost two years after it first opened in Nz. Based on the novel by Margeret Mahy, the film is about a teen living with her mother and brother in a poor suburb on the edge of a partially demolished Christchurch. Laura is drawn into a supernatural battle with an ancient spirit who attacks Jacko, her brother, and slowly drains the life out of him as the spirit becomes ever younger. Adapted from the award-winning novel by Margaret Mahy, The Changeover is a collaboration between first-time director Miranda Harcourt and writer Stuart Mackenzie. Set in Christchurch, New Zealand following a devastating earthquake, Laura Chant (Erana James) and her brother Jacko (Benji Purchase) come across a shipping container, inside they find a collection of old antiquities and one extremely creepy Timothy Spall. The encounter with the disheveled and mysterious Carmody Braque (Spall) sets in motion a series of events which leads Laura to believe that Braque is slowly siphoning her brother’s life. Laura has the power to help her brother, as a “sensitive” she’s just one trippy dream-like state away from becoming a fully-fledged witch. Help comes in the form of fellow witch, Sorensen Carlisle (Nicholas Galitzine) and his family.

This year’s Afm had no single standout title, but a selection of high-profile projects and star appearances sparked buyer interest.
In an increasingly polarised independent space besieged by a talent exodus to TV and the might of digital platforms and studio acquisitions teams, the consensus was there was no single must-have title at the 2016 American Film Market (Afm).
