Grayson Perry: All Man

1 review

Reality TV, but good

Grayson Perry is a fascinating person. And his themes are both strong and current. And particularly interesting is the way he is working with threes: three portraits, three episodes, and so on. And strong is the particular quality sought simply because it is perceived as a masculine quality so everybody with a penis is required to have it, some more than others. Grayson is wonderful in the way he explores the given subject. After all Christian white men are the majority and hold the power. Or do they? Are they simply another victim of a rigid social classification? Grayson can do it without getting to mansplaining, without getting nowhere near the macho discourse of the male chauvinists. And the end result is proof Reality TV can be the next level in television and not the hyperbole coming from Christian old white males who simply can't understand television can't be done like in 1950s.
