Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena were separated months before the indie film director and writer’s death in January, according to a new report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

After separating in September 2024 when the actress moved to New York, Baena made “concerning remarks” to Plaza that “prompted her to call a friend to perform a welfare check on her husband” in October, the report obtained by The Hollywood Reporter stated.

Baena had reportedly started going to therapy after the couple had been “experiencing recent marital difficulties” in the months leading up to his death.

The coroner’s office’s report also stated that Plaza received a text message from her late husband on the day of his death at 10:36 a.m. Et. Baena’s body was later discovered inside his L.A. home by his dog walker.

During the brief introduction of Miley and Brittany, Plaza wore black pants and jacket along with a tie-dye shirt. It's always exciting when a new horror film gets picked up, particularly by distributors like A24 or Neon. These companies have a keen eye for great horror content, and more often than not, the films they acquire are usually both unique and boundary-pushing. One of these indie powerhouses just snagged the worldwide rights to a new body horror, and based on what we know so far about this movie, it's something you're going to want to see.

We're talking about Neon, the studio that delivered what is arguably the best horror film of 2024, Longlegs. If you haven't seen Longlegs, maybe you're familiar with other Neon horror movies such as Immaculate, Cuckoo, Possessor and Infinity Pool. Now, the company has another horror flick to add to its lineup, and we're hoping it hits theaters this year.

The film is titled Together, and it stars real-life husband and wife Alison Brie and Dave Franco.

Baena was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Friday and his death was subsequently ruled a suicide by County Of Los Angeles Medical Examiner.

The filmmaker made his feature directorial debut on 2014 Sundance Film Festival premiere Life After Beth starring Plaza, and followed that up two years later with another Park City premiere, Joshy.
