Holy sh!t

This show is - amazing.

Go watch this NOW.

NOW.

I'M NOT KIDDING.

Anyways...

Re zero is a 2016 anime series about a teenage boy Subaru transported to a magical world. He then met a half elf half girl Emilia. Then they go on a journey to find Emilia's stolen stuff. But, they then got murdered. Subaru then transported back to where he first entered this world. A 25 episode magical emotional adventure begins.

Don't fooled by this boring premise because this anime has SERIOUSLY GOOD WRITING. Everything in this anime evolves from meh, to omfg. I can't say anymore because it will becomes a spoiler, and so I just wanna advise you all dive into this series with an open mind.

The artwork and the sounds are also very great, although I won't say it's amazing. If you look closely to some of the frames, you might spot some quality down tier. But then they hide it very well so eh? Who cares.

Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you guys to check it out. And so, yeah, do it. You'll be amazed.

An Amazingly Written Psychological Thriller

Re: Zero is less of an Isekai and more of a Thriller. It balances dark themes extremely well. The focus on characters and their motives are what makes this show so interesting. People like Roswaal and Echidina are what give this show such an aura of mystery and horror. The soundtrack is amazing and the gore is never sugarcoated and always makes you uneasy. Re: Zero is a show that has a lot of potential and I can't wait for future episodes.

Drop what you're doing and watch this anime!

This may very well be one of the best shows I've ever watched. Every week I find myself wondering what it's going to happen next, how is the main protagonist going to get out of this particular situation. Not to mention the voice acting and overall world building is phenomenal! This is definitely a show that is binge worthy! This show easily makes my top-five anime list!

The story keeps getting interesting!

People who thought that this anime story is ruined after only seeing half of the episodes, are in hell of a surprise! this anime keeps getting better week after week. Its an emotional roller coaster. Anime fans shouldn't miss this amazing ride. A helpless boy struggling to do things right and returning from death to correct his mistakes is everybody's fantasy. Subaru the protagonist is the character you will fall in love with, although most of the times you might hate him, you might feel sorry for him or you might even get annoyed by him but at the end of the day you will admire him. This anime story is well written, it makes the viewer stay at the edge of their seat. With the end of each episodes every week, you just crave to know what might happen next episode. I hope they make more than 30 episodes for this series.

It's just good. Like really good.

It's got everything you could possibly want from an anime. It has magic, action, alot of comedy, romance and at times its really dark. There's something in it for everyone in this anime and its just a really good show. I would recommend it to anyone.

Watch it and don't look back

One of the best anime stories out there. Don't let the fact it is an Isekai deter you. In-fact, Re:Zero started as a web novel very early on in the Isekai Genre. Part of me wishes it wasn't considered one because there are so many ppl. That would love this show that automatically shut out all Isekai.

What makes this show special is the writing, character development that feels real, psychological thriller, world building, and an outstanding cast of characters you will root and jump out of your seat when someone comes along to remind them how to love yourself and cherish oneself.

The show doesn't have fear to stray away from tough topics either. The author even shares alternatives of what would happen if the main character chose sin over virtue. Watch this show. It is going to be GOATED as more seasons come out adapting the Light Novel Arcs. Season 3 has started with a bang!

It gets better, it just takes a while.

At first the main character is kind of naive (but likable) but as the show goes on, about halfway through the first season, he gets increasingly whiney, petty, and jealous. It was hard to watch and I was going to stop watching but I liked the action scenes and the worldbuilding so I gave it another try. The show gets a lot better towards the end of the first season. The second season is slow, like other reviews have mentioned, but it has it's good parts. Whole episodes in the second season could have been removed. They were going for emotional scenes that kind of miss the mark and drag on. If you are going to watch, be prepared for a protagonist who you actually start to hate at points but gets better over time. The ending of the second season leaves a lot unresolved (but the ending itself I was happy with).

Excellent.

The storytelling in this anime is just divine. The characters, the visuals, the soundtrack, they are just perfect. Highly recommend this anime- although there isn't as much fighting/action scenes compared to other animes, the main selling point is the story telling, and it has done well.

Educating a Jerk

This TV-series consists of great episodes and episodes which are difficult to complete. This is because of the story itself, which is an attempt to subvert a common isekai trope. Instead of an overpowered person arriving in a new world expecting to have a lot of fun, we have an immature jerk arriving in a new world who is anything but overpowered. The result is predictable; he has the worst time of his life. He does have one power, which is the ability to come back to an earlier point in time each time he is killed, and he dies a lot. The basic story is one of an immature child learning how to be an adult and it's a painful process. This is well worth a watch and if you come across an episodes when the main protagonist is just too painful to watch, preserve as it will be worth it, in the long term.

Wasted potential

Overall this is a good anime although i think show gets worse the more you watch it but Character development in this anime is horrible imo.... our protagonist is shown as a kind hearted boy with a little foolishness and for about half of the show....then suddenly in just one episode he turnes into a complete pease of garbage as a person with mind blowing stupid decisions and reactions for no reason at all..... then he turns into a fearless badass leader the next episode and i don't get it how.... reminding you that this kid never considered suicide for an option when it could actually change something.

Wow. Just wow.

Re: Zero is proof that the Isekai genre will never die. It always gets reincarnated into something better, and this anime is proof of all that. It's thrilling, psychological, action, and everything anime has to offer. It starts out like a typical isekai, MC, goes to other world blah blah blah, but it's more than that. It literally strains the characters to the brink but yet still keeps a sense of self. Also, the character interactions in this anime are so well played out and wonderfully worded. Just from the dialogue alone, Re: Zero brings heartfelt friendship and sacrifice to the table that other anime have not done before. The characters are so memorable, Subaru, Rem, Emilia, Ram, and so much more! I can't wait to see more of this amazing show!

Waiting for Season 2

Can't wait to see season 2. As my opinion, this is one of the best anime series that I ever watch. White Fox Co., Ltd, please release season 2. Don't end like this because it is too good for not to end like this.

Probably the most underrated anime

Re:Zero is truly one of the most unique and intriguing anime out there. It's very underrated, but I think it's because a lot of people don't understand it. It was during my rewatch that I myself started to understand the show. It's extremely complex so you need to make sure to watch it when fully focused.

Its biggest strength is for sure the character writing. Re:Zero uses realistic psychological reactions to change and shape a character. The characters their actions are always justified with some sort of psychological reason as to why they take said action. Many characters struggle with trauma, it changes their behavior, and the way they look at the world and others. The characters have to live with the trauma and have to try and overcome it. This makes Re:Zero their characters feel more like actual humans.

The world is wonderfully crafted with extensive lore and history. It's full of mystery which makes you speculate and theorize about the world and lore.

Re:Zero has a lot of emotional and thought-provoking moments, which can even change the way you look at life itself.

I would mainly recommend this for people above 18 years old. Not only because of the gore, violence, and traumatic events, but also because people younger than 18 probably won't understand it completely. You really need to have a more developed brain to understand the intricacies of the character writing, and to understand the philosophical and psychological themes.

Ever seen a normal distribution graph?

Re: Zero gave me some of that Steins;Gate feeling I was longing for, and made me go crazy theorizing about conspiracies and figuring how the world worked. It was growing within me faster than the episodes aired. And it was from studio White Fox, the same one that did Steins;Gate, another good sign. I can't pinpoint the episode, but it peaked sooner than I thought. I was very intrigued by everything by the middle, and some episodes were pure joy to watch. Slowly, it started to forget everything that made it cool and mysterious, flat out ignoring things that they told about the story and plowing through content as if there was no tomorrow. The last fourth of the anime was barely watchable, with a very lackluster ending. It made a perfect bell graph, or a roller coaster with a single bump if you prefer. The overall experience still makes it a nice watch and can hold the score enough, but it gets really painful if you think about the true potential it had.

One of the best "isekai" animes of recent years.

Although is a sort of a power fantasy (and the "isekai" genre is already saturated with those), it achieves its originality by approaching the subject from the "this is more of a curse than a blessing kind of super power" side of the things. You can see and feel the anguish and pain of the main character while trying to figure out how to move forward on this world.

My only complains are about some of the classic anime tropes of this genre: 90% of the women on this world are attracted to the main character, the extremely long conversations about being sorry or the long winding monologues detailing every reason why they are feeling what they are feeling, etc.

The world building and the challenges that the main character must confront on this world are probably the strongest points of this anime. And, of course, Rem.

amazing

And an anime totally not predictable, he manages to maintain a tense and exciting episode 14 until the end, great for those who like strained works The Protagonita, Subaru, and great, different from the other Isekai Protagoniatas or any anime, he is not the hero, he and weak, well human but different from "Nikki Mirai " and "Evangelion ", the protagonist always tries to give the maximum of himself, and different from other anime and Le does not always achieve, showing something much more real

Flawless

This series is seriously amazing its pure perfection. We didn't even yet teach 40% of its full content and we still are in world building but it's seriously giving us every type of emotions w fear sadness depression anger with funny cute and wholesome moments Honestly i think its even more perfect than most issekai and non issekai series, and it's obviously the most superior series in its genre. I really hope it gets even more popular. If you haven't tried it yet i highly recommend you to do so you'll not regret it and it might change your view of the world positively just like it did to me

Best Isekai Best MC

I've been watching re:zero for a while now and have only now thought about writing a review, Let me just say anyone who hates subaru or say he never develops either hate him because they watched 2 episodes or are just lying, he is the most human character I've ever seen, the same people who hate on re:zero are the same people who are to blame for the same generic overpowered, genius, harem protagonist like every other isekai, they are the reason we don't have anything good anymore, re:zero is an anime i will defend until i am the last man standing, until my last breath and if i return by death i wouldn't change a thing i said and i will keep defending it, especially with season 3, White fox is definitely doing re:zero justice with the animation and art style beautiful visuals and voice acting, even the dub which was already good, is even better this season id even say on par with the sub. From the OST to the plot, to the characters, to the animation to the plot twist to the voice acting, this anime/light novel (ive read the light novel) is just incredible. To anyone who is patient, likes character development, would like a breath fresh air from the same old isekai over and over this is definitely something everyone should at least try and watch until the end of season 1, and yes i meant watch the whole of season 1, character development is slow and trauma is not so easily discarded, it takes Subaru a while to develop as a character, and he is even still developing in season 2, it takes time. Too sum review up, re:zero is a fantastic anime and you shouldn't listen to people who cant watch passed 2 episodes. Watch it on your own till the end of season 1 or just till episode 15 and if you still dont like it then fine i admit defeat.
