Speculation is making rounds that Sabrina Carpenter could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dazzler, the mutant pop star from the X-Men comics.
According to online scooper Mttsh, Carpenter has met with Marvel Studios to discuss the role of Alison Blaire, though no official casting has been confirmed. While the X-Men reboot is the likely home for Dazzler, other X-Men-related projects are also in early development.
Carpenter, primarily known for her music career, has a solid acting background. She’s appeared in films like The Hate U Give and Clouds, starred in Netflix’s Tall Girl series, and played Cady Heron in Mean Girls on Broadway.
Her experience as both a singer and actress makes her a strong candidate for Dazzler, a character who combines musical talent with mutant powers. In past interviews, Carpenter expressed enthusiasm for action roles, citing her love for Spider-Man films.

Sabrina Carpenter might be getting ready to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. New rumors are saying she could be playing Dazzler, a mutant pop star from the X-Men comics. The news comes from online scooper Mttsh, who claims that Carpenter has already met with Marvel Studios about the role.
While most people think Dazzler would be part of the upcoming X-Men reboot, there are a few other Marvel projects linked to the X-Men that are in different stages of development. Nothing is confirmed yet, and casting hasn’t officially started.
But Marvel is clearly getting things ready behind the scenes.
Sabrina Carpenter, who’s best known today for her music, actually started as an actress. She’s been in several films and shows like The Hate U Give, Clouds, and Netflix’s Tall Girl movies. She also played Cady Heron in Mean Girls on Broadway. So acting is definitely something...

Previous rumors have claimed that Sabrina Carpenter has been setting meetings with movie studios in an effort to secure a high-profile acting role, and it sounds like she may be in line to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to scooper Mttsh, Carpenter has met with Marvel Studios and is being eyed for the role of Dazzler. It's easy to assume that this would be for the long-awaited X-Men reboot, but we have heard that a number of other X-related projects are also in various stages of development.
Given Carpenter's background, Alison Blair would seem like a perfect fit for the pop megastar, but there are plenty of "Swifties" who still feel that Taylor Swift would be the ideal candidate for the part.

‘Children of Blood and Bone’ is a 2018 romantic fantasy novel by Nigerian-American author Tomi Adeyemi. It’s her first book and the start of the ‘Legacy of Orïsha’ trilogy. The story follows Zélie Adebola, a young girl trying to bring magic back to the kingdom of Orïsha after the ruling class, the kosidáns, wiped out the maji, her people who once wielded magic.
Adeyemi spent 18 months and 45 drafts writing the novel, drawing inspiration from books like ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘An Ember in the Ashes,’ West African mythology, and Yoruba culture. She was also influenced by the pain of police violence against Black Americans.
The book was a huge success. It debuted at number one on ‘The New York Times’ Best Seller list for young adult books and received praise for tackling themes like oppression, racism, and slavery. It’s also a coming-of-age tale about young people finding the power to make change.

Anthony Mackie once had a very different career in mind before stepping into the Marvel spotlight. Long before Captain America 4 positioned him as one of the smartest Avengers alive, he had his sights set on something completely unrelated to superhero stardom.

Anthony Mackie is one of the most prolific actors working today, appearing in several critically acclaimed, Oscar-winning films but never earning an Oscar nomination himself. Over 11 years, he has gone from a supporting hero (The Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) to being Captain America himself, now leading the franchise. He is about to headline Captain America: Brave New World, a movie opening in theaters right in the heart of awards season, which Mackie has a few words about.
While speaking with Esquire, Mackie spoke about his own feelings regarding awards season, weighing in with quite a bit of confidence about being overlooked. “It’s always apropos for me when awards season comes up. Because I know I’ve done at least four performances that could have been nominated — if not for a Golden Globe, then an Oscar or an Emmy,” Mackie said. However, being given the role of Captain...

Ahead of the opening of Gerard Butler's Den of Thieves 2: Pantera this coming weekend, another one of his films is currently climbing the streaming charts. Last Seen Alive, which was a massive box office and critical bomb in 2022, is at number two in the Max international streaming charts. This despite a truly horrendous score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film has a respectable cast with Butler, Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give), and Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama), and was directed by Brian Goodman, mostly known for his acting. Last Seen Alive follows Will (Butler) as he searches for his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa (Alexander), who goes missing while at a gas station. As is typical with these types of films, Will finds himself up against the small town's criminal element, while also on the run from the authorities.

Sabrina Carpenter is one of the most popular music artists working today, and her 2024 was nothing short of extraordinary, resulting in a huge net worth. Carpenter released her album Short n' Sweet in August, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 list. Three of the album's singles — "Espresso," Please Please Please," and "Taste" — spent weeks on the Hot 100 charts. Carpenter also embarked on her first arena tour, released an incredible music video "Taste" that paid homage to cult classic Death Becomes Her, received six Grammy nominations, and debuted her Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter.
While many may think she got famous overnight, Carpenter's success is the result of years of hard work. Carpenter began her career in 2011 with a guest appearance on Law and Order: Svu. Her big break came in 2013 when she was cast on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, a spin-off of the beloved 90s show Boy Meets World.

Daniel Craig has garnered praise for his mesmerizing performance as William Lee in Luca Guadagnino's Queer, most recently earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. However, his co-star Drew Starkey shines too in a totally different way in this adaptation of the William S. Burroughs novel of the same name. The character of Eugene Allerton is a major departure from Starkey's recurring role as Rafe Cameron in Outer Banks and film appearances in Love, Simon and The Hate U Give, and Starkey's performance shows impressive restraint and emotional layering.

Featuring an impressive cast, the 2019 movie Little is a great comedy for teenagers and adults alike. The 2019 movie serves as a funny remake of a classic 1980s Tom Hanks comedy. Little follows Jordan Sanders, a tech company executive who is mean to her employees, as she magically gets transformed into her 13-year-old self. Funny chaos ensues when Jordan is forced to go back to school and her company is taken over by her assistant, April, who also has to pose as her aunt.
Little was met with mixed reviews from critics and grossed $49 million at the box office on a budget of $20 million (via Box Office Mojo), and, despite modest reactions, audiences enjoyed the film. Though some of the writing was criticized, the performances of the cast, including Little's 14-year-old breakout star and executive producer, were praised for their chemistry and embodiment of the characters. For the first 10 years of his movie acting career, Dwayne Johnson was hungry to earn his bonafides as a serious performer. Oh sure, he was more than willing to play to the cheap seats by starring in stuff like "The Scorpion King" and "Doom." But this was also the era in which the wrestling legend worked with "Donnie Darko" director Richard Kelly on his gonzo cult curiosity "Southland Tales" and gleefully preened in front of a mirror as an out-and-proud gay bodyguard in F. Lead singer and guitarist Bradley Nowell tragically passed away at the age of 28 in 1996 following a heroin overdose. His legacy lives on through the band's incredible successes, and his son, Jakob Nowell, has been Sublime's new lead singer starting in 2023.
According to Deadline, Apa will star as Nowell in a new film centered around Sublime. Nowell's original Sublime members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson will act as executive producers on the movie, as will Bradley's widow Troy Nowell and son Jakob on behalf of the Nowell estate. Though mostly known from the likes of “Outer Banks,” “Love, Simon,” and “The Hate U Give,” Drew Starkey is about to enter a whole new level of recognition with Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer.” The actor makes a star-making turn in the Venice premiere, which will likely see a heavy awards season run, alongside Daniel Craig in an adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ book of the same name.
We caught up with Starkey at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of the film on Monday, September 9. “I felt very honored to work with these people,” he tells IndieWire. “I look up to real giants of [this] creative field, and I hope I get to keep doing it.”
In Ryan Lattanzio’s review of the film, he writes that “Queer” has “some of the most explicit gay sex scenes I can remember in any mainstream movie.”

The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg revealed that she is “not surprised” that the Disney+ series set in the Star Wars universe was canceled after one season following the “vitriol, prejudice, hatred and fateful language” that the cast received from internet trolls since the series was announced and through its cancelation earlier this month.
Stenberg had dual roles in The Acolyte, as twins Osha and Mae, who fall on opposite sides of The Force. The actress spoke out on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night about her experience with fans, whose relentless vitriol made her feel compelled to respond to, as she says, “honor my value system.”
“I’m going to be really transparent and say that it’s not a huge shock for me,” Stenberg told her fans of the show’s cancellation after one season. “Of course, I live in the bubble of my own reality, but for those who aren’t aware,...

Amandla Stenberg said that “The Acolyte” being canceled after one season was “not a huge shock.” In a series of videos posted to her Instagram account Wednesday, the lead of the Star Wars series further denounced the racist and homophobic hate being spewed at her show.
“There has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced, when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it,” the Black queer actress said. “That’s when we started experiencing a rampage of, I would say, hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudice, hatred and hateful language towards us.”
In an interview ahead of the prequel series’ release, Stenberg and showrunner Leslye Headland joked about “The Acolyte” being named the “gayest Star Wars” by fans. Hedland told TheWrap she was “into it.”
