This is a slickly done story with high tech aspects all over the place. The sets and displays are really quite amazing. Unfortunately, the result disappointed me. It's like those juvenile short stories with the cheap little twist at the end that we read in middle school. Still, it did keep my attention and took me to the end.
This sci-fi short film, set in a future where global political power is decided in a very different way, is both visually stunning and hilariously clever.
The film introduces us to some highly appealing pieces of daily future tech-stuff many people would kill to have today. What makes it great is how believable and well-integrated these technologies are; they instantly make sense in the world of the film.
The main premise is that physical wars are a thing of the past. Instead, countries or continents are represented by chosen competitors who battle it out in futuristic war games. The story focuses on two beautiful but dangerous contestants-reminiscent of Charlie's Angels-as they prepare for the evening's high-stakes match.
And then comes the twist-absolutely hilarious and completely unexpected. I couldn't help but laugh. It's a genuinely clever idea, executed with style.
