Found Interview: Star Shanola Hampton On How Gabi Justifies The Dark Secret In Her Basement
Image
Gabi Mosely, the protagonist of NBC's new series Found, is a beautifully flawed character with a traumatic past who uses her own kidnapping experience to draw attention to missing persons. Gabi rationalizes her actions of keeping her own abductor captive in her basement by seeking revenge for ruining her life and preventing him from hurting others. Her goal is to help bring missing persons home by understanding the mind of a criminal. Found sheds light on the issue of how law enforcement and the media prioritize missing person cases, particularly those of people of color. The show has already sparked conversations and raised awareness on this important issue.

NBC's new procedural, Found, is currently airing on the network with new episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock. The series follows public relations specialist, Gabi Mosely, who uses her own kidnapping experience to draw attention to missing persons who fly under the radar.

‘Shameless’ Alum Shanola Hampton to Lead NBC Drama Pilot ‘Found’ From Nkechi Okoro Carroll
Image
Shanola Hampton has been cast in the lead role of the NBC drama pilot “Found,” Variety has learned.

The one hour drama deals with the fact that, in any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. Public relations specialist Gabi Mosley (Hampton) — who was once herself one of those forgotten ones — and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.

Hampton will also serve as a producer on “Found” in addition to starring. The series hails from writer and executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll, who executive produces via Rock My Soul Productions. Lindsay Dunn of Rock My Soul also executive produces along with Greg Berlanti,...

Robyn Lively in Mystery Thriller 'Through the Glass Darkly' Trailer
Through the Glass Darkly (2020)
"Charlie, there's something you should know..." "I trusted you!" Blue Fox has released an official trailer for an indie mystery thriller titled Through the Glass Darkly, marking the feature debut of producer Lauren Fash. This first premiered at the San Diego Film Festival last year, and also played at the Red Rock Film Fest, arriving on VOD in September. Set in a small town in Georgia called Elrod, the film is described as an "offbeat Southern Gothic thriller." A year after a girl disappears, another goes missing. Convinced there is a connection, Charlie draws suspicion and contempt from local police & townspeople as she stops at nothing to expose its most devastating and darkest secret. Robyn Lively stars, with Michael Trucco, Shanola Hampton, Katrina Norman, Judith Ivey, Bethany Anne Lind, Kerry Cahill, Nicholas Logan, and Vince Foster. This looks quite intense, overloading on suspense and dread to tell this story of dark secrets.

Fear, the debut film from writer/directors Geoff Reisner and Jason Tobias is pitched as a post apocalyptic action film. When it was released in the UK as F.E.A.R. ‘Through the Glass Darkly’: Film Review
Image
Familiar psychological thriller tropes are infused with strong doses of social commentary in Lauren Fash’s debut feature, which recently received its world premiere at the Frameline Film Festival. Depicting a woman’s efforts to find her missing child, Through the Glass Darkly occasionally gets lost in its own murkiness. But the film ultimately proves an engrossing and decidedly offbeat 1990s-set suspenser, distinguished by Robyn Lively’s superb performance in the lead role.

Lively, a veteran character actress whose credits go back several decades (she co-starred with Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid Part III), plays Charlie, whose young daughter Lily ...
