Noah Galloway lost his left arm and left leg after his vehicle tripped an IED while he was stationed in Iraq. With the use of prosthetics, he went on to compete on Dancing With The Stars during its 20th season. He was paired with Sharna Burgess and they came in 3rd place.
The show's military experts and team leaders, Rorke Denver, Noah Galloway, Tawanda Hanible, and Nicholas Irving, are all decorated former military. They represent the Army, Navy and Marine Corps.
Season 2 was filmed during November and December of 2016 in and around Hampton Island, Georgia.
The "Dunking Challenge" in the premiere episode of Season 2 actually lasted a total of 38 minutes. The competitors ("Gritters") were dunked a total of 10 ten times - with the 9th and 10th dunking being the longest and deepest dunk (at 5 secs underwater and lowered to the waist).
