Havana Darkness is the very first English-language horror film shot in Cuba.
The story behind Havana Darkness is loosely based on the contents of a legendary manuscript that is said to have been penned by none other than Ernest Hemingway during his Cuban days. Even though Havana Darkness is not based on a true story it really flirts with many real elements.
Carolina Ravassa shared in an interview that Havana Darkness was the most challenging film for her: emotionally, physically and psychologically. She always had to be either running, panting, crying, shivering or in a tense state, so her body never really got a break. She admitted that she had learned a lot about herself and piling on the acting layers.
Havana Darkness has been filmed on locations in New York and Havana, Cuba.
