Black Widows

The series is pretty much about what the title "Black Widows" suggests. Three widows that decides they are better of without their better halves.

The three women have different and interesting personalities. Two different police officers with a very different methodology pairs up to investigate the murders of their husbands.

It's worth pointing out that this is just as much of a comedy that it is a drama. Which is good.

Unfortunately, there are quite a lot of plot holes and unrealistic twists (not revealing anyone to avoid spoilers) that felt like it wasn't properly scripted.

Also incredibly annoying that all the Swedish cars has the same letters in their license plates (all starts with MLB). It may seem like a minor detail, but it's really annoying especially for those who has a natural tendency to memorize things like that.

Definitely worth a watch, especially if you appreciate shows that doesn't take itself to serious.

This is actually the original series (2014) not the remake (2016). The cast of actresses/actors listed and pictured here are from the remake. Enjoyed the twists and turns in the plot.

I'm almost done watching season one of this show, which is actually titled "Desperate Widows," on Amazon. I have also watched both seasons of "Black Widows" aka Mustat Lesket the earlier Finnish version (the predecessor of this show by two years). They are quite similar in story line, with a few variations. From a superficial viewpoint, this newer version is nice to view, as the actors are very attractive, their clothing is updated and all production values are excellent. However I prefer the original Finnish show as it had more accurate subtitles (in my opinion) and it was so easy to become engaged in the storyline and appreciate the character development.

If you want to see prettier people wearing more stylish clothing, this is your preferred version. If you want to become really engaged in the story, the previous one has my vote for recommended viewing.
