Dua Lipa Covers Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” During Melbourne Concert: Watch
Image
As Dua Lipa continues her 2025 “Radical Optimism” tour, which touched down in Australia earlier this week, she’s been paying tribute to some local icons. After delighting audiences in Melbourne with a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” she followed it up with her take on Natalie Imbruglia’s classic “Torn” for her second show in the city. Watch it below.

With a fuzzy white scarf trailing dramatically behind her, the pop star went all-in on the angsty track popularized by Imbruglia in 1997. While the song was initially released in 1991, the version recorded and released by the Australian vocalist eclipsed the success of the original and became a staple of Imbruglia’s discography.

Watch a fan-shot video of the moment below.

Here's Proof Dua Lipa Is Making "New Rules" in Style on the Red Carpet
One Kiss (2016)
Daring. Dominate. Dazzling Dua Lipa.  The British up-and-coming music icon topped the charts a few years ago with her female empowerment anthem "New Rules," and continued her hit streak with her latest hit single called "One Kiss." But the charts aren't the only thing this Elle cover star has been ruling. She has also been dominating the fashion industry. "I love to experiment and play around," she said in an interview with Refinery29. "It's kind of like music: The sound doesn't just include the face of the artist. And the artist should wear the clothes, not the other way around. Fashion can't be forced." With her signature black bob...

St. Vincent
St. Vincent on Her ‘F-cked-Up and Sexy’ Dua Lipa Grammys Duet
St. Vincent
After years of anemic Grammy Awards ceremonies, some of this year’s artists finally injected some lifeblood into their performances. Perhaps the most jaw dropping was St. Vincent’s sexually charged duet with Dua Lipa, in which the two women mashed up their singles “Masseduction” and “One Kiss.”

It started with St. Vincent (a.k.a. Annie Clark) appearing from within a shadow, dressed in black, singing about “nuns in stress positions” and “Lolita is weeping” as she played a slinky riff on her guitar. Then came a voice, joining...

Dan + Shay’s ‘Tequila’ Named Most Shazamed Song of the Grammys
Everyone wanted a taste of “Tequila” at this year’s Grammy Awards.

The hit single from country duo Dan + Shay was the most Shazamed song of the night following the artists’ stripped-down performance, featuring Dan Smyers on guitar and Shay Mooney on piano. “Tequila” was a multi-week No. 1 smash at country radio and crossed over to the top 30 at pop radio in 2018, but was undoubtedly still being heard by the vast majority of Grammy viewers for the first time Sunday night.

Close behind was Alicia Keys’ piano-based medley, which included a number of popular songs such as “Killing Me Softly” by Roberta Flack, “Lucid Dreams” by Juice Wrld, “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole, “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon, “In My Feelings” by Drake, “Doo-Wop (That Thing)” by Lauryn Hill and “Empire State Of Mind” by Jay-z and Keys.

R&B artist H.E.R. also had a strong Shazam showing...

Grammys 2019: Watch Dua Lipa, St. Vincent Mirror Each Other in Seductive Medley
Dua Lipa at an event for Dunkerque (2017)
Pop singer Dua Lipa performed an unusual duet with avant-indie artist St. Vincent at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night. The singers kicked things off with a rendition of St. Vincent’s Grammy-nominated “Masseduction,” followed by a little bit of Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and Dua Lipa’s “One Kiss,” which was originally a duet with Calvin Harris.

St. Vincent dressed in all black and played a black guitar solo, as she sang “Masseduction.” Dua Lipa, dressed in black and white, came from the shadows behind...

Dua Lipa Rules Dystopian Wasteland in New ‘Swan Song’ Video
Robert Rodriguez in Sin City : J'ai tué pour elle (2014)
Dua Lipa powers through an uncertain future in her cinematic new song “Swan Song,” featured in Robert Rodriguez’s new cyberpunk action film, Alita: Battle Angel. The James Cameron-produced movie hits theaters on February 14th.

“I can’t lie — I’m scared to open my eyes/’Cause what if I find nothing at all?” Lipa croons over muted electronics, airy synths, stabbing brass samples and vocal chants. Later, she builds on that feeling of urgency in the pre-chorus: “You know the time is running, running out/Only I see the diamonds,...

Dua Lipa Drops New Song and Video, ‘Swan Song’ (Watch)
Dua Lipa at an event for Dunkerque (2017)
Dua Lipa today dropped a new song and video called “Swan Song.” The singer, who is nominated for two Grammys and was honored at Variety’s Hitmakers event last fall, releases the song and video ahead of the Twentieth Century Fox film “Alita: Battle Angel” an action-adventure film from producers James Cameron and Jon Landau and director Robert Rodriguez.

The video, directed by Floria Sigismondi, places Lipa in the film’s world, on the treacherous streets of Iron City. Sigismondi said of the video “While in the film Alita is quite literally on a journey to discover who she is, her story serves as a really powerful allegory for any girl who doesn’t yet know her own power. I wanted to play with that same profound notion by dropping Dua into a facet of Alita’s world and allowing Alita to serve as a surrogate that leads her on...

Calvin Harris recruited soul singer Rag’n’Bone Man for his lush new single “Giant.” The producer blends standard Edm touches – pulsating synths, house beats – with organic flourishes like brass, strings, piano and vocal chants.

Rag’n’Bone Man sings about addiction and redemption throughout the colorful track. “I understood loneliness before I knew what it was/Saw the pills on your table for your unrequited love,” he belts. “I would be nothing without you holding me up/Now I’m strong enough for both us, both of us, both of us,...

Dua Lipa Dances Barefoot to Club-Ready ‘Electricity’ on ‘Kimmel’
Jimmy Kimmel
Dua Lipa performed a nightclub-primed version of her Silk City collaboration, “Electricity,” on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. The singer bounced gleefully around a fog-lined stage, belting house-pop hooks as bright lights flickered. A live band – including a bassist, keyboardist, drummer and two dancing back-up singers – accompanied her the song.

This traditional late-night take on “Electricity” follows Lipa’s after-midnight prank rendition from Tuesday’s episode, in which the singer woke up Kimmel with the song by hopping on his bed and brandishing a taser. She also played the track...

Taylor Swift Rules at the American Music Awards 2018: Look What You Made Her Do
What happened? Somehow the American Music Awards turned out to be bizarrely undisastrous this year. As cheesy award shows go, this one has always been on a sub-cheddar level, usually held back for the holiday season and usually totally ignored. But for some reason, the AMAs decided to be a big deal last night, packing the show with stellar performances, from Taylor to Cardi. They invited Khalid instead of Khaled. They did an Aretha Franklin tribute that focused on music instead of Madonna giving a speech. Tracee Ellis Ross hosted in style,...

American Music Awards: What You Didn’t See on TV
Carrie Underwood
There was no shortage of heat on stage last night at the American Music Awards: From the burning car backdrop of Twenty One Pilots’ performance to the flames that leapt into the air behind Post Malone, the blazing candles encircling Carrie Underwood and the spinning fireworks blazing above Cardi B, not to mention performances by Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez that scorched the stage at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. But trust us — what you didn’t see on TV was similarly smoking.

Spotify Reveals Its Top Songs of the Summer
Spotify has revealed its official Songs of the Summer chart, and in a not-shocking development Drake’s “In My Feelings” topped the list both globally and in the U.S., with more than 393 million streams between June 1 and August 20.

Globally, the No.2 and No. 3 songs both featured Cardi B: Maroon 5’s ballad “Girls Like You” came in second with around 293 million streams, while the sassy rapper’s own “I Like It” (featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny) came in a close third with more than 289 million streams.

SoundCloud rap claimed the next two slots In the U.S., with Juice Wrld’s “Lucid Dreams” and the late XXXTentacion’s “Sad!” coming in at No. 2 and No. 3 in the country respectively (and Nos. 4 and 5 globally). Cardi’s “I Like It” is right behind, but the Maroon 5 track is at No. 11.

“Juice Wrld is undoubtedly the breakout star of the summer,...

Avicii
Avicii Wins Posthumous Vma for Best Dance Video
Avicii
Avicii won a posthumous award for best dance song alongside Rita Ora for their collaboration “Lonely Together” Monday at MTV’s VMAs.

The electronic artist died earlier in April in Oman at age 28.

One of the most popular and successful electronic dance-music artists of all time — he scored a No. 4 hit on the Billboard 200 in 2013 with “Wake Me Up” and regularly appeared in the Top 5 of Forbes’ “Highest-Paid DJs” lists — he retired from live performing in 2016 at the peak of his success, citing health reasons. He had suffered from health problems for several years, including acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.

He was nominated for VMAs in 2012 for best electronic dance video and best choreography for “Levels.” He also received nominations in 2014 for “Wake Me Up” and “Hey Brother,” for best pop video and best video with a social message,...

Chris Cornell
Will Avicii and Chester Bennington win posthumous VMAs after their tragic deaths?
Chris Cornell
The last year has been tough when it comes to mental illness, which has claimed the lives of popular artists and creators including Chris Cornell, Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain and Margot Kidder. This year the MTV Video Music Awards could pay tribute to two artists who died by suicide since 2017: Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who was 41 when he lost his life last July, and electronic dance music artist Avicii, who was 28 when he died this past April.

Linkin Park is nominated for Best Rock Video for “One More Light.” It’s their eighth nomination in this category, tying Aerosmith for the most nominations ever. They have won it three times before, for “In the End” (2002), “Somewhere I Belong” (2003) and “Shadow of the Day” (2008), but they haven’t won any Moonmen in 10 years. The video for “One More Light” features past footage of Bennington performing, along with footage of the band over the years.

Men have a slight majority in the top category, where there are five men and four women represented, counting collaborations. Those Video of the Year nominees are Ariana Grande (“No Tears Left to Cry“), Childish Gambino (“This is America“), Drake (“God’s Plan”), Beyonce and Jay-z (“Apeshit”), Bruno Mars and Cardi B (“Finesse”), and Camila Cabello and...
