Forget about the movie

I don't recall when I last watched a movie dubbed - well let's put it in my calendar then ... although let's not. I will not remember this movie. It's not that it's an awful one, but including the bad dubbing, this really is not worth your time. Story is simple enough and I guess if you don't mind the cliches and the predictibility you can have some fun with it.

The dubbing snob might be something unique to myself, but I think it really is disturbing and takes a lot out of the movie (I would have rated it even lower if I hadn't seen the trailer and heard the real voices) ... I will leave that up to you to decide

Hitting new lows in terms of making films about strong female characters

No.

My husband and I were in the mood for a comedy, and this popped up so we gave it a shot.

We lasted 15 minutes, so, full disclosure, this review is only about those 15 unendurable minutes.

No one we encountered during that period of time suggested anything close to star quality. The lead woman looked like a distant cousin of Nicole Kidman, but other than that, her character seemed hateful, angry, full of rage, and yet, her entire existence seemed to be based on whether her husband loved her or not. I guess he didn't, and I guess she decided that in the middle of a work day at a company that she was running, she felt compelled to leave it, race off to a photo shoot featuring the young, pretty model that her (ex?) husband was now seeing, and completely disrupt it, yelling and screaming at the model.

It reminded me of the insanity surrounding the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie relationship. People who were staunch fans of Jennifer Aniston were hysterically blaming Angelina for the "break-up" of Brad and Jenn's marriage. But, I'm sorry, it takes two to tango. If Brad thought Jenn was the perfect woman for him, he wouldn't have "strayed." In this bad movie, the hysterical lead actress foaming at the mouth at the poor model at her place of work was a bad joke.

There were other confusing, strange moments, and this was yet another film where the director feels compelled to show a women's feet stepping out of a car, as if that is singularly fascinating.

I normally do not review films that I watch only for a short time, but 15 minutes is long enough to give a strong idea of what is going on. That didn't happen in this film, so it failed the very first test.
