The past year has seen the series finales of many of our favorite dramas. Here, our writers pay tribute to a few. (There will be spoilers.)
“Succession”
As surreal as it may seem to its audience, “Succession” has really up and gone. With a mere four seasons and 39 episodes, the Jesse Armstrong-led series was a drop in the bucket when stacked against the length of similarly acclaimed dramas in HBO history, including “The Sopranos” with 86 episodes, “Game of Thrones” with 73 and “The Wire” with 60, respectively. And yet, with its fourth season arguably the show’s pinnacle, delivering a finale that was both narratively satisfying and emotionally devastating, it’s hard to argue with Armstrong’s decision to end the series on his terms, while the show was still at the height of its powers. But that doesn’t take much sting out of the loss.

Country is having quite the renaissance. The genre, which had lagged behind after the streaming era took over, suddenly has found its footing in the new musical landscape. As such, we are getting more Hot 100 hits from country stars, and we are also more aware of newer stars thanks to apps like TikTok. This rebirth of the genre into the popular consciousness will surely play a factor in the upcoming Grammy nominations, which might skew more commercial this time around after years of digging into the indie-country scene, probably due to a perceived lack of quality from the bro-country songs that ruled the charts almost a decade ago.
Morgan Wallen is inarguably the biggest contender of the season, with his hit album “One Thing At A Time.” Wallen’s success is somewhat unprecedented for a country musician this century, topping both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 for multiple weeks. Of course,...

Luke Combs has been one of the biggest country music stars of the past 10 years. Since debuting on the scene with his country radio chart-topper “Hurricane,” Combs has amassed a plethora of hits, including the top-two Hot 100 smash “Forever After All.” It’s rare for country artists to have the career Combs has had, being a force to reckon with on both singles and albums charts. However, while Combs probably doesn’t have much left to check off his bucket list, there’s still one thing that hasn’t come his way: a Grammy Award. The recording academy has been somewhat slow to get on the Combs train, although he has managed to get six nominations, including Best New Artist at the 2019 ceremony. It’s clear that, with such success, Combs will likely win a Grammy someday. And that day could come in 2024.

Bailey Zimmerman was busy with a union job and tricking out pickup trucks in his spare time just three years ago. Wahlburgers producer 44 Blue Productions, Red Arrow Studios company, is teaming with Wilhelmina Models to produce multiple scripted and unscripted projects about the world’s largest modeling and talent management agency.
44 Blue has acquired scripted and unscripted rights to the story of Wilhelmina Models, founded in 1967 by Dutch supermodel model Wilhelmina Cooper, which marked its 50 anniversary last fall. The story of the groundbreaking agency’s rise is one of several stories that the two companies are co-developing, including an access-driven documentary following the agency and the high-stakes business decisions and strategy leading up to Fashion Week.
44 Blue says the projects will tell the story of the agency and its iconic CEO Wilhelmina Cooper, the first business woman featured on the cover of Fortune Magazine in 1979 at a time when less than 5% of businesses were owned by women.
