Fox unscripted exec Lisa Levenson has a new gig at Wilshire Studios. The former Svp of alternative programming at Fox Broadcasting has been appointed executive vice president of development and programming at Wilshire Studios.

Levenson will oversee the unit in her new role and report to Dawn Olmstead, who was named last week as president of Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios — NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s studio focused on unscripted entertainment.

Most recently, Levenson was an exec in Fox’s alternative programming division, overseeing shows like “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Master Chef” and “Beat Shazam.” She has previously worked on “The Bachelor” franchise and “Big Brother.”

A week after Dawn Olmstead was named President, Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios, she is making a key hire on the unscripted side of the studio.

Lisa Levenson, most recently Svp, Alternative Programming at Fox Broadcasting Co., has been appointed Evp, Development and Programming, Wilshire Studios. She will oversee development and programming for the unit, reporting to Olmstead. This is a new position at Wilshire as the studio is looking to expand its output. Wilshire’s development most recently was shepherded by Svp Development Bj Levin who left over the summer to focus on producing.

Most recently, Levinson was Svp, Alternative Programming, at Fox, which will be undergoing a transformation after the Disney-Fox deal. She joined the network in January 2014, brought in by former head of alternative Simon Andreae. Unscripted exec Lisa Levenson has joined Wilshire Studios as executive VP, development and programming. Dawn Olmstead, president of Wilshire Studios and Universal Cable Productions, announced the hire Wednesday in a memo to staff.

Levenson most recently worked at Fox, where she was senior VP, alternative programming. She previously worked on series such as “Big Brother,” “The Bachelor,” and “The Bachelorette.”

Airing from 8-10:23 p.m., “Jesus Christ Superstar Live” drew a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.4 million viewers. NBC’s last live musical, “Hairspray Live,” drew a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 9 million viewers back in December 2016. It is also up slightly over Fox’s live version of the religious-themed “The Passion” musical from March 2016, which drew a 1.6 and 6.6 million viewers. However, as “Jesus Christ Superstar” ended at 10:23 p.m., its initial numbers will be subject to adjustment later today.

Fox’s live-ish Sunday broadcast of The Passion drew 6.6 million total viewers and a 1.6 demo rating, down 46 and 63 percent from what the network’s Grease: Live delivered in January (albeit when there was no Walking Dead in the mix).

In fact, the Tyler Perry-hosted musical event placed even below NBC’s Peter Pan Live, which in December 2014 delivered 9.2 mil and a 2.4, on a Thursday. TVLine readers gave The Passion an overall grade of “B+.”
