‘Holy Mother’ – ‘Audition’ Star Eihi Shiina Reteams With ‘Tokyo Gore Police’ Director for Gory Carnage
Image
Described as “a premium label dedicated to horror and genre films,” Void Signal has launched in collaboration with Alliance Home Entertainment, Variety reports this morning. The idea is to bring genre films to digital and physical, “pushing the boundaries of genre storytelling.”

One of the first films on the Void Signal slate that caught our attention is titled Holy Mother, and it brings Audition and Tokyo Gore Police star Eihi Shiina back into the horror genre.

In fact, Holy Mother is directed by Tokyo Gore Police filmmaker Yoshihiro Nishimura!

Variety describes the film as “a gory showdown involving a silent trans woman fighting a brutal organization with chainsaws, lasers, and non-stop carnage.”

Void Signal will be releasing Holy Mother on October 21, 2025.

Yoshihiro Nishimura is known for his gory blasts of insanity including Tokyo Gore Police and Mutant Girls Squad, so we can expect that Holy Mother will be cut from the same cloth.

Range Media Partners Asks Judge To Dismiss CAA Claims, Accusing Agency Of Double-Dipping In Lawsuit And Arbitration Process
Image
Range Media Partners is hitting back at CAA in the firms’ contentious legal battle, arguing in a pair of motions Wednesday night that CAA is engaged in a form of double-dipping.

The agency is currently in arbitration with four of its former agents, Jack Whigham, David Bugliari, Michael Sullivan, and Michael Cooper, over their demands for equity and other compensation despite jumping ship in 2020 to co-found Range. According to Range’s legal team, the arguments CAA is making in that arbitration process, which began in 2022, have too much overlap with the claims they are making in the lawsuit, which was filed in 2024. Therefore, they say, Judge Mark A. Young should dismiss the claims in the suit.

“CAA is attempting to relitigate some of the same issues it has raised in the arbitration,” the Range filing says. “The claims should be stayed pending completion of the arbitration to conserve judicial and...

Troll Tried to Contact Foreign Ministers Using AI Marco Rubio
Image
The days of verified Twitter users changing their names in order to impersonate celebrities, companies, and lawmakers — previously at the risk of a permanent ban — are a quaint stunt compared to what is possible now that the tools of unregulated artificial intelligence is in the hands of the bored and bad faith.

The State Department is learning this the hard way. According to a Tuesday report from The Washington Post, an individual posing as Secretary of State Marco Rubio used AI software to mimic the secretary’s voice and writing style.

40 Years Ago, Back To The Future's Epic Box Office Run Sparked An Everlasting Cinematic Legacy
Image
(Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)

"What we set out to do was to make a human, fun, comedic, dramatic story and the idea of time travel was going to be used just as a device to tell that story." Those are the words of director Robert Zemeckis speaking with The Signal in 1985 ahead of the release of "Back to the Future." Four decades removed, what Zemeckis set out to accomplish with his time travel picture seems quaint in light of what it became.

There are movies people love. There are movies that endure. And then there are movies that would be used as a relic of humanity to prove we existed should life as we know it end. Right up there with the likes of "Gone With the Wind...

CAA Says It’s Got Range On Camera In Trade-Secrets Theft & Talent-Poaching Suit; Uberagency Claims Rival Was “Fully Aware Of The Legal Risk”
Image
(Updated with Range statement) Range Media Partners’ founders got caught with their sticky fingers in the CAA trade-secrets cookie jar, the Bryan Lourd-run uberagency claims in an amended complaint to its October 2024 lawsuit.

Or put another another way: In the truest of Hollywood litigation tradition, CAA has uncovered what it believes is the smoking gun of smoking guns in the multi-tiered battle with former staffers now at the self-described management company.

“Newly uncovered video footage, documents, photographs, and secret Telegram chats reveal an extensive plot by Range’s founders to steal from Creative Artists Agency, LLC, set up an illegal talent agency, and cover up its wrongdoing,” reads a heavily redacted amended complaint filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court by CAA’s outside counsel at Paul Hastings.

“This is what we now know,” adds the complaint, which has grown from four to six claims. “Driven by greed, hubris,...

Pentagon Releases ‘Propaganda’ Video Of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Railing Against ‘Wokeness’ In The Military
Image
In celebration of Memorial Day, the Pentagon released a new ad at the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, which propagated efforts to rid the military of the “woke” mindset.

The video was narrated by old clips of speeches delivered by Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth has been plagued with controversies since being confirmed as the defense secretary. He was caught sharing classified information on the insecure Signal app and has fired numerous top deputies in his brief tenure.

The ad, entitled “Peace Through Strength,” featured service members completing various intense training drills and engaging in combat, with patriotic music in the background interspersed with excerpts from previous speeches by Trump and Hegseth.

In one quote, Hegseth declared, “No more distraction, no more electric tanks, no more gender conduction, no more climate change worship. We are laser-focused on our mission of war-fighting.”

Another clip shows Trump proclaiming that the US...

Ilana Glazer Calls Out the “Broligarchy’s Speeding of the Onslaught of Fascism” at Webby Awards
Image
The 2025 Webby Awards theme may have been “All Good,” as the annual ceremony celebrated the best of the internet from the past year, but host Ilana Glazer wasn’t shy about going after politics or the more problematic elements of technology.

Glazer kicked off the evening by joking that the “All Good” theme was selected because an alternative like “‘The Broligarchy’s Speeding of the Onslaught of Facism in the Face of the Climate Catastrophe at the Point of No Return’ would have bummed everybody out.”

As she continued her monologue, Glazer spoke about the continued uncertainty around the fate of TikTok and joked that Signal is the app that should truly be banned.

“TikTok and the Trump administration were the Ross and Rachel of social media — a real will they, won’t they,” Glazer joked. “They banned it and then they quickly brought it back. Now they’re talking about banning it again.

Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan Introduces Bill To Reduce Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Salary To $1 After Signal Scandal
Image
Rep. Pat Ryan (D-New York) introduced legislation reducing Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s salary to $1.

During the House Armed Services Committee Markup of the FY2025 Reconciliation Bill, Ryan responded to concerns over Hegseth’s “mishandling of classified information” and “well-documented dysfunction within the Department of Defense” by offering several amendments “to force accountability and end corruption at the Department of Defense,” according to a press release posted on his website.

In late March, members of the Trump Administration, including the defense secretary, accidentally sent Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic, plans to attack Houthi militants in Yemen via a Signal chat.

Last month, reports revealed that, on March 15, Hegseth also shared sensitive military information about U.S. airstrikes in Yemen using a private Signal group chat that included his wife, his brother and his lawyer, people who lack national security roles.

In particular, Ryan proposed legislation to force...

An Underrated Dennis Quaid Sci-Fi Movie Influenced One Of The Most Beloved K-Dramas Ever
Image
Overseas studios constantly look to Hollywood for inspiration in making their own movies and television shows, and South Korean K-dramas are no exception. Among the more surprising K-drama remakes is the 2016 fantasy crime procedural "Signal," which is a loose adaptation of the 2000 American movie "Frequency." And while the Korean version maintains the broader narrative premise, it definitely moves in its own unique direction. A popular show worldwide, "Signal" is currently available to stream on Netflix, Paramount+, Apple TV Channel, and The Roku Channel.

"Frequency" is a sci-fi thriller that centered on John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel), a detective who is able to communicate with his father Frank (Dennis Quaid) in the past through a radio. Through their time-bending conversations, the two men not only prevent Frank's premature death, but they also take down a serial killer menacing their family. "Signal" retains the concept of a radio linking two men separated by decades facing the same mystery.

Hegseth Controversies Pile Higher Amid Report He Nixed Military Aid Without Approval
Image
Pete Hegseth has already displayed a predictable lack of competence in his role as defense secretary, but it’s not just a sloppy use of Signal chats that has forced the White House to do damage control on his behalf. According to a Tuesday report from Reuters, early in his tenure Hegseth cancelled military aid to Ukraine without a direct order from President Donald Trump.

The pause, which Hegseth ordered just days after Trump was sworn in, led the U.S. Transportation Command (Transcom) to ground 11 flights moving weapons and artillery to Ukraine.

Someone Reportedly Hacked the Messaging App Mike Waltz Was Seen Using
Image
A hacker reportedly stole customer data from a company that makes a Signal-like app that former National Security Adviser Mike Waltz was seen using in a Cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump.

The hack includes direct messages and personal information from TeleMessage apps, 404 Media reported Sunday. TeleMessage is an Israeli company that makes modified versions of Signal, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms, but allows users to archive messages. The app is not fully end-to-end encrypted, which is concerning considering high-ranking Trump administration officials appear to be using it. Signal is fully end-to-end encrypted.

Trump Assures Nation That Pete Hegseth Will Eventually ‘Get It Together’
Image
President Donald Trump is confident that Pete Hegseth is going to “get it together” any day now — which, to be frank, is not exactly a ringing endorsement of the scandal-plagued former Fox News host he put in charge of the entire United States military.

In an interview with The Atlantic published Monday, Trump said Hegseth has “had a hard time” and that he thinks he’s “gonna get it together.”

“I think he’s a smart guy. He is a talented guy. He’s got a lot of energy. He...

Real Time with Bill Maher welcomes one of Trump's biggest critics tonight, April 25
Image
Real Time with Bill Maher is back tonight with an all-new episode. Tonight's show will feature one of President Donald Trump's biggest critics.

Bill Maher has a lot to get through in his opening monologue tonight. President Trump's tariff and immigration policies remain top stories, while developments in the Pete Hegseth scandal and Elon Musk pulling back from politics add more topics to discuss.

Expect Maher to hit on all that in more before he sits down for a one-on-one interview and then welcomes tonight's panel guests.

Maher starts Real Time with an interview of former Vice President Al Gore. The Democrat recently went viral for his impassioned defense of the Constitution and warnings about President Trump.

Real Time should look to cover that and a couple of other topics with Gore. The ex-vp could weigh in on J.D. Vance's performance so far or the ongoing climate crisis.

‘The View’: Alyssa Farah Griffin Predicts Pete Hegseth Will Be Ousted as Defense Secretary
Image
The View returned on Tuesday (April 22) after a brief spring break hiatus, and the first “Hot Topic” up for discussion was one the panelists had previously been harping on for quite a few episodes: SignalGate. Only this time, it’s SignalGate 2.0, as there’s been an update to the national security crisis that surrounds Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth‘s use of the chat app Signal while discussing strike plans in Yemen. This time, it’s been revealed that he had a second chat about the imminent attack — including, reportedly, specific flight schedules for the military aircraft involved — that included his wife and brother. This stunning revelation has caused at least one Republican lawmaker to call for Hegseth’s ouster from the role, and one The View cohost thinks it’s just a matter of time before that comes to fruition. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked in the Pentagon and for...

Hegseth Says He Shared Attack Plans on Unsecured Chats for ‘Media Coordination’
Image
Embattled Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said during a Fox News interview on Tuesday morning that he has been sharing military attack plans on Signal “for media coordination and other things,” claiming the plans were “informal.”

On Sunday, The New York Times reported on the existence of a second Signal chat — titled “Defense | Team Huddle” — in which Hegseth shared highly sensitive air strike plans against Houthi rebels in Yemen. The chat included his brother and Department of Homeland Security Adviser Phil Hegseth, his personal lawyer, and his wife Jennifer Rauchet, a...

Pete Hegseth Returns To ‘Fox & Friends’ To Defend Pentagon Tenure And Blame “Disgruntled Former Employees” For Leaks
Image
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth returned to his former employer Fox News on Tuesday to defend his tenure amid new revelations that he shared military plans on a Signal group chat and a bombshell op-ed from a former spokesperson who described the Pentagon atmosphere as the “month from hell.”

“Disgruntled former employees are peddling things to try to save their ass, and ultimately, that is not going to work,” Hegseth told Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends.

Hegseth, the former host of Fox & Friends Weekend, accused a group of his senior staffers of leaks. The staffers — Dan Caldwell, Darin Selnick and Colin Carroll — were dismissed Friday.

Hegseth suggested that they were responsible for leaking to the press, after the New York Times reported that the Defense Secretary shared attack details in another Signal chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer. That followed the bombshell report that the editor of The Atlantic,...

Turns Out It Wasn’t Such a Great Idea to Put Pete Hegseth in Charge of the Military
Image
Pete Hegseth barely received enough votes to win confirmation as Donald Trump’s defense secretary. Three Republicans even bucked their own party’s president to oppose him. One of them, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), cited “accusations of financial mismanagement and problems with the workplace culture he fostered.” Another, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), said Hegseth had “failed to demonstrate” that he could manage “nearly 3 million military and civilian personnel, an annual budget of nearly $1 trillion.”

It hasn’t taken long for Hegseth to prove them — along with every Senate Democrat...

‘Morning Joe’ Says It’s Hard to Comprehend Pete Hegseth’s ‘Recklessness’ Sharing More Military Intel on Signal | Video
Image
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reportedly shared military strike plans in a second Signal group chat recently, this one including his wife and brother. And for “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough, that “recklessness” was a lot to wrap his head around.

This Signal group chat is different than the one that accidentally included the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic just a few weeks ago. In this particular thread, there were 13 people total, but according to MSNBC, Hegseth sent the messages after an aide warned him to not share sensitive information on Signal.

Discussing the latest leak on Monday’s episode of “Morning Joe,” Scarborough recalled his time as a congressman and how seriously he was required to take handling information like this.

“I was just a little congressman, one of 435. Was on the armed services committee. We would get information and we understood we didn’t tell a soul,” he said.

White House Says Donald Trump “Stands Strongly” Behind Pete Hegseth Amid New Signal Chat Report, Pentagon Tumult — Update
Image
Updated with Trump comment: Donald Trump said that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is “doing a great job,” even amid a new bombshell report and a scathing op-ed from a former top Pentagon spokesperson.

“Ask the Houthis how he’s doing,” Trump told reporters today, referring to the U.S. strikes on rebels in Yemen. He blamed the latest reports on “fake news” and “disgruntled employees.”

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump “stands strongly” behind Hegseth.

“This is what happens when the entire Pentagon is working against you and against the monumental change you are trying to implement,” Leavitt said Monday on Fox & Friends.

Hegseth, appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll, himself said, “What a big surprise that a few leakers get fired and a bunch of hit pieces come out.” He then went into an extended rant about the media, pointing at reporters and calling them “full of hoax-sters.

Hyper Knife TV Series Review: Terrific Performances Anchor This Mostly Engaging Medical Thriller
Kim Hye-su, Lee Je-hoon, and Cho Jin-woong in Sigeuneol (2016)
South Korea has produced some of the most eccentric serial killers in reality, movies, and shows. Shows like Signal, Mouse, Flower of Evil, etc., have sometimes mirrored real-life serial murder cases and sometimes been completely fictional. “Hyper Knife” (Original title: Haipeo Naipeu), starring Park Eun Bin and Sol Kyung Gu in lead roles, is a fictional medical thriller that places itself as the thesis and antithesis of two warring psychotic surgeons.

Written by Kim Sun-hee and directed by Kim Jung-Hyun, “Hyper Knife” follows two extremely skilled genius neurosurgeons who also happen to be dangerous killers. They kill people, sometimes rather unreasonably, while engaging in a war of words, gestures, and ultimately egos. Highly egotistical and overconfident in their surgical abilities, consistently trying to outwit the other, this mentor-student duo of Choi Deok-hee and Jung Se-ok goes through ups and downs in their relationship to the point of obsession. Their egos...

Did The Glory’s filming leave Shin Ye-Eun scarred? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Shin Ye-Eun has become a popular name after she featured in the much acclaimed K-drama The Glory. The actress played the teenage version of the main antagonist, Park Yeon-Jin, later Lim Ji-Yeon took over the role in the adult version. Both of the actresses received a lot of appreciation for portraying such a cruel and layered character.

However, did you know that filming The Glory left Ye-Eun, who played the teen version of Park Yeon-Jin, shattered? Yes, that’s right. The actress recently opened up about it and revealed how the K-drama gave her sleepless nights and how she dealt with all the nightmares she had during the shooting of the series.

The View’s Joy Behar Criticizes Audience For Disappointing Reaction
Image
Joy Behar was in high spirits during Friday’s episode of The View, but it seemed the studio audience wasn’t quite matching her enthusiasm. Never one to hold back, Behar wasted no time in calling them out.

Details About The Show

The show began with a discussion about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent exchange with a British reporter.

When asked about a leaked Signal chat involving Trump officials and military plans, Greene dismissed the journalist by saying, “We don’t give a crap about your opinion and your reporting,” after confirming she wasn’t from the United States.

The comment sparked reactions from the panel, with Behar questioning, “What’s all this hostility toward the allies?”

She pointed out that travel to the U.S. from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa had dropped by 12.8% compared to the previous year.

Sunny Hostin chimed in, noting that some of...

Seth Meyers Takes a Stab at Why Trump Wasn’t On the Signal Group Chat | Video
Image
Seth Meyers returned from another two-week hiatus on Monday night, and he brought a theory with him as to why President Donald Trump was not on the Signal group chat with other members of his cabinet to discuss attack plans. According to the NBC host, it was probably because the president wouldn’t stay on topic.

During his “A Closer Look” segment, Meyers played a bit of catch-up on the Signal incident, which boils down like so: Trump officials, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Vice President Jd Vance, discussed attack plans for Yemen via the messaging app Signal. But National Security adviser Mike Waltz, who created the thread, accidentally added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic to it.

This led to a major national security breach, even though the cabinet members swear none of the information was classified at the time. When asked about it, Trump himself was entirely unaware of the whole situation,...

Viewpoint: Is the Signal app really that secure?
Image
(Stock image via Pixabay)

When top White House defense and national security leaders discussed plans for an attack on targets in Yemen over the messaging app Signal, it raised many questions about operational security and record keeping and national security laws. It also puts Signal in the spotlight.

Why do so many government officials, activists and journalists use Signal for secure messaging? The short answer is that it uses end-to-end encryption, meaning no one in position to eavesdrop on the communication – including Signal itself – can read messages they intercept.

But Signal isn’t the only messaging app that uses end-to-end encryption, and end-to-end encryption isn’t the only consideration in choosing a secure messaging app. In addition, secure messaging apps are only part of the picture when it comes to keeping your communications private, and there is no such thing as perfect security.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Spoofs “SignalGate” With Pete Hegseth, Jd Vance And Marco Rubio Joining Teen Girl Texting Group
Image
Saturday Night Live opened with a skit on the biggest scandal of the week, the so-called “SignalGate.”

The show had Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (Andrew Dismukes), Vice President Jd Vance (Bowen Yang) and Secretary of State Marco Rubio (Marcello Hernandez) entering a teen girl group text chat. They share state secrets, as the girls are bewildered by the flood of information being sent their way.

The Atlantic this week published editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg’s account of being mistakenly added to a Signal group chat with top Trump administration figures, in which Hegseth shared detailed attack plans on Houthi rebels in Yemen. The bombshell story has dominated headlines all week, as the Trump administration has tried to claim that the information shared was not classified.

The whole episode has been an embarrassment, as National Security Adviser Mike Waltz told Fox News, and it also showed Hegseth’s penchant for emojis.

Gavin Newsom Sounds Like, Looks Like Potus Candidate, But California Governor Tells Bill Maher There Aren’t “Any Grand Plans” On The Horizon
Image
“It’s why you’d be a good candidate, you play this game well,” Bill Maher told Gavin Newsom tonight on HBO with the savvy California Governor the latest 2028 contender to appear on Real Time this year. “Your future is not in California, your future is in Iowa,” Maher added later, asking Newsom to “dispense with the bullsh*t” and admit if he is running for President or not.

“We need someone who’s going to be the champion. Are you going to do it or not?”

“I can’t stand the bullshit as well, and I mean that,” the two-term Democrat replied with apparent candor before pivoting. “So, look, but it’s not my purpose or passion. It’s not my meaning. It’s not everything,” Newsom proclaimed.

Newsom then pivoted again to make asking the question a case of missing the point.

“I deeply respect that the question,...

‘Pod Save The UK’s Nish Kumar On Invading Canada, Breaking America, Trump, Elon Musk, & Comedy Traversing The Globe
Image
“We live in the stupidest possible version of human history,” said Nish Kumar to a roaring packed Largo at the Coronet in LA last week, perfectly summing up 2025 so far.

Cited as one of the 50 best comedians of the 21st century by the UK’s The Guardian and the subject of a recent New York Times profile that raised his American profile considerably, After Midnight alum Kumar’s relentless shiving and mocking of pompous and populist politicians was on full display on March 20 in those back-to-back shows at the iconic venue on La Cienega Blvd. From Donald Trump and Maga authoritarianism, UK right winger Nigel Farage (“if gout was a guy”) and race riots, and how horrible Kash Patel and Rishi Sunak are, Kumar raged against the moronic and self-declared messiahs. There was also material on his mother’s obsession with Princess Diana, woke scolding, the return of Nazis to public life,...

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Yells At British Reporter: ‘Go Back To Your Country!’
Image
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) lashed out at Sky News’ U.S. correspondent Martha Kelner after she questioned her about the recent Signal chat scandal.

On Sunday, Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic, reported in an article that, on March 13, he was added to a Signal group chat called “Houthi PC small group,” in which the Trump Administration accidentally sent him plans to attack Houthi militants in Yemen.

In his report, he said that he received a series of messages on Signal which seemed to come from Vice President Jd Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz and other notable officials in President Donald Trump’s administration.

He also noted that the military plan mentioned in the group chat “included precise information about weapons packages, targets and timing.”

Kelner asked Greene about this scandal during a press conference on Wednesday.

“Have...

Jimmy Fallon Mocks Trump’s Call to Defund PBS: ‘The White House Has a Group Chat About Invading Sesame Street’ | Video
Image
Jimmy Fallon is surprised that Donald Trump seems to hate NPR and PBS so much. This comes after the president’s recent calls to defund both of the federally funded organizations.

“It’s not good. Right now, the White House has a group chat about invading ‘Sesame Street,'” Fallon said on Thursday night, nodding to the recent Signal group chat scandal where a group of senior-level Trump advisors added The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief to a private chat about bombing Yemen.

“When NPR heard, they went nuts,” Fallon continued before dropping his voice down to a near whisper. “They said, ‘This is an outrage. We are furious right now.'”

On Wednesday, NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS CEO Paula Kerger appeared before a House subcommittee on government efficiency. Both defended their respective organizations against being accused of political bias by Republican politicians. Even President Donald Trump weighed in on...

Jimmy Fallon Jokes Trump Signal Breach Would Never Happen Under Biden – Because ‘He Didn’t Know How to Text’ | Video
Image
Jimmy Fallon waded into political waters during his monologue on Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show,” and given the prevalence of the story, he of course talked a lot about the scandal over the Trump administration’s military plans breach on Signal.

The ineptitude of the whole thing stood out for Fallon in particular, prompting him to compare it unfavorably to some of the, uh, colorful characters associated with Donald Trump’s first term in office.

Fallon also noted that this would never have happened when Joe Biden was president — but only because “he didn’t know how to text.”

Now, we assume you’re familiar with the story: Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was accidentally added to a group chat on the Signal app by a Trump official, said chat involved multiple other Trump officials, including Secretary of State Pete Hegseth, and they were discussing classified military plans. But...

Hillary Clinton Reacts To Report That ‘Atlantic’ Editor Was Sent War Plans By Trump Administration: ‘You Have Got To Be Kidding Me!’
Image
Hillary Clinton shared how surprised she was after Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic, reported that the Trump Administration accidentally sent him plans to attack Houthi militants in Yemen. “You have got to be kidding me,” Clinton wrote in an X post, including Goldberg’s report.

On Sunday, Goldberg published an article in which he reported he was added to a group chat called “Houthi PC small group” on March 13 via Signal, an encrypted messaging service widely thought to be more secure than other commercial texting applications.

In the article, the editor-in-chief discussed his initial skepticism, remembering that he discussed with colleagues whether the texts were “part of a disinformation campaign, initiated by either a foreign intelligence service or, more likely, a media-gadfly organization,” hoping to humiliate journalists.

Goldberg also said that he went on to receive a series...

‘It’s What We’re Going With’: Team Trump Pathetically Tries to Spin Chat Scandal
Image
As Rolling Stone reported Wednesday, some Trump administration officials have been privately gossiping among themselves, comparing the now-infamous national security breach in a Signal group chat to something out of the HBO political satire, Veep.

These officials are getting it wrong. This ongoing mini-saga of the second Donald Trump era isn’t Armando Iannucci’s American series, Veep; it’s becoming more like Iannucci’s series, The Thick Of It, in which British politicians and their profane spin doctors constantly obsess over words, doublespeak, and linguistic technicalities in order to...

Stephen Colbert Wonders Where Else Trump Officials Are Sharing Sensitive Info – Like Maybe OnlyFans | Video
Image
Following the Trump administration accidentally adding the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic to a group chat discussing military plans, Stephen Colbert is wondering where else highly sensitive information is casually getting leaked.

The CBS host largely made what’s become known as “Signalgate” the focus of his monologue on Tuesday, kicking things off by arguing that it’s not fair of “worry warts” to continue saying the Trump administration is evil.

“They’re also dumb!” Colbert added.

In case you somehow missed it, the short version is this: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other Trump officials, including Vice President Jd Vance, put together a group chat on the messaging app Signal to discuss a then-upcoming military operation. Jeffrey Goldberg was unintentionally added to that chat and saw said plans.

“Fun fact: posting war plans on Signal may have violated several provisions of the Espionage Act, and the Signal app is...

The Atlantic Publishes Yemen Attack Plans That Trump Officials Shared in Text Chain
Image
The Atlantic has released the text messages that include attack plans on Houthi rebels in Yemen, messages that its editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg received after being inadvertently added to a group text chain on Signal that included many of the highest-ranking officials in the Trump administration.

The story stunned the political and media establishment, sparking jealousy from other journalists, and shock from national security experts that people like the National Security Adviser and Secretary of Defense would play so loose with operational security.

Top officials — including President Trump — have said that no classified information was shared in the chats, though The Atlantic says that it opted to withhold the name of CIA director John Ratcliffe’s chief of staff at the agency’s request. The officials also said that no war plans were shared in the group chat.

“These statements presented us with a dilemma. In The Atlantic’s initial story...

The Atlantic Publishes Attack Plans That Pete Hegseth Shared On Signal Messaging App
Image
The Atlantic published the U.S. attack plans that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth shared on the Signal messaging app, in a group chat that included other top Trump administration officials and, by mistake, the media outlet’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg.

In his initial story about being added to the text chain, Goldberg withheld Hegseth’s texts about the attack plans, describing them in generalities rather than specifics out of concern that publication could jeopardize the lives of U.S. military personnel. The top administration officials were texting about planned strikes on Houthis rebels in Yemen.

But in their response to the bombshell story, Trump administration officials have insisted that the information shared on Signal was not classified, while they also tried to discredit Goldberg, attacking his past pieces for The Atlantic. In testimony before Congress on Tuesday, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe...

Trump White House Deploys “Blame The Media” Strategy As It Deals With Fallout Over The Atlantic’s Bombshell Report
Image
Updated, with Gabbard comment and The Atlantic statement: The White House’s strategy to deal with the fallout over a Signal app security breach is a familiar one: Blame the media.

This time, it’s that the story is overblown.

The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg wrote on Monday that he was mistakenly given access to a Signal group chat involving National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and other top Trump administration officials. At one point, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared plans for strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, hours before they were carried out.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt this morning attacked Goldberg, saying that he is “well-known for his sensationalist spin.”

She wrote, “1. No ‘war plans’ were discussed. 2. No classified material was sent to the thread. 3. The White House Counsel’s Office has provided guidance on a number of different platforms for President Trump’s top officials to communicate...

Trump Administration Seemingly Includes Journalist in Group Chat Detailing War Plans
Image
The Trump administration allegedly included a journalist in a group chat regarding The United States’ plans to bomb Houthi targets across Yemen on March 15.

The Atlantic‘s editor in chief Jeffery Goldberg published a story on Monday (March 24) detailing how he was allegedly added to a group chat that “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Iran-backed Houthi-rebels in Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.”

Keep reading to find out more…

According to Goldberg, he was added to a text chain on Signal, an open-source encrypted messaging service, on March 11. Top national security officials for President Donald Trump such as Vice President Jd Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Walz, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were allegedly included in the text chain.

It is currently unclear if Goldberg was added to the Signal text chain as a mistake,...

Trump’s National Security Adviser Mistakenly Added Atlantic Editor to Military Ops Group Chat
Image
In an egregious display of disregard for national security from the second Trump administration, U.S. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz unknowingly added the phone number for the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine to a group text in which leaders discussed plans for an airstrike in the Middle East.

In an article published on the outlet’s website on Monday, Jeffrey Goldberg, the top editor at the news and culture outlet The Atlantic, revealed details of what happened in the group chat on the secure, open-source messaging app Signal. He called his inclusion in the conversation a display of “shocking recklessness” on the part of Donald Trump’s appointee, who advises the president on all matters around national security and sits on the Homeland Security Council. Goldberg explained that via the Signal group, he was privy to top-secret intelligence regarding U.S. strikes on the Houthis in Yemen that could...

Trump’s Brain Trust Accidentally Sent War Plans to a Journalist
Image
Donald Trump installed a former Fox News host with a history of alleged erratic behavior as Secretary of Defense. What could go wrong? Well, we’re barely two months into the president’s term and Pete Hegseth seems to have texted presumably classified plans to bomb Yemen into a group chat that inadvertently included the editor in chief of The Atlantic.

The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg reported on Monday that on March 11 he received a connection request on Signal — an encrypted messaging app — from “Michael Waltz,” later confirmed to be Trump’s national security adviser.

The Atlantic’s Editor Says Top Trump Officials Accidentally Texted Him U.S. Secret War Plans — Update
Image
Updated with Pete Hegseth comments: Many journalists have stories of how they’ve been inadvertently sent sensitive emails, texts and files, but The Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg’s revelation likely tops them all: He apparently was added accidentally to a text chain of the highest-ranking Trump administration national security officials as they outlined military strikes on the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

In a piece posted Monday in The Atlantic, Goldberg wrote that he received a connection request from a Signal user identifying himself as Michael Waltz, the national security adviser. Signal is an encrypted messaging app where texts can be made to disappear within a certain time frame. Goldberg said that he accepted the Signal request, “hoping that this was the actual national security adviser, and that he wanted to chat about Ukraine, or Iran, or some other important matter.”

Two days later, he received an invite to...
