Being a Malayali i have always been proud of the way Malayalam film industry prefers realistic portrayals in movies. The main character is not superhuman he or she has flaws he or she is just one among the millions of commoners living together in this society only their story is unique.

This approach has beyond doubt created many legendary movies yet with kali sadly this same approach backfires slightly. The movie begins in a spectacular fashion carries on the initial intensity till the end yet does not provide the movie with a satisfactory ending which is a little sad.

yet this movie is beyond doubt watchable and for most part really intriguing. Every single shot, the background score and everything else is picture perfect. Speaking of performances, both Dulquer and Sai pallavi have provided remarkably strong performances alongside vinayakan and chemban vinod jose (i found vinayakan's initial act a bit rusty) who have given good performances.

A special mention must go to Soubin Sahir (what a find he is!) who provides a remarkably subtle funny performance worth remembering.

All in all kali is well executed film with some minor yet disappointing shortcomings in script towards the end. Yet it definitely is a movie worth watching once.

Kali is a thriller which makes you tensed, excited and emotional. The film is a story of an angry young man Siddarth(Dulquer Salman) and his wife, Anjali(Sai Pallavi).

The first half shows how loose tempered is Siddarth. He goes insane for smallest of things. Overall, it is decently paced with some comedies and romance of Siddarth and Anjali.

The chemistry of Salman and Pallavi were awesome. They were not acting instead, they lived.

The audience were in loud cheers when Soubin shows up. He made an instant impact with the first dialogue itself. The caliber of PT mash of Premam is second to none.

The film goes to another level from the interval scene. It changes from an entertainer to thriller genre. I can't even explain what was going through my mind but what I can say is, I was a lot tensed and excited to know what to follow.

Each and every scene of the second half will make you thrilled. Chemban Vinod and Vinayakan once again show that Malayalam film industry is in safe hands.

Kudos to Sai Pallavi. She showed that she is not a one time wonder. She acted superbly, sorry she lived. Her performance will make you emotional for sure.

May I know is there anyone who still says Dulquer stays in the industry just because he is the son of the great Mammoty? He improves with each and every film. He delivered a matured and lively performance. I can't say this is his career best but it's right up there as one of the best.

The only negative I felt was climax could have been made a little better. Overall, it is a must watch movie for all.

NB: For me, I enjoyed the film better than 'Maheshinte Prathikaram' and 'Action Hero Biju'.

Kali was again a high hope release coming from DQ and Samir Thahir. Kali is a movie about an incident in the life of a short tempered young guy who gets into trouble due to his anger issues.

DQ plays the lead role and Sai Pallavi is his wife. Due to an outburst by DQ, Sai Pallavi leaves home and the story is what happens after that. Soubin, Vinayakan and Chemban are the other stars in the movie. Vinayakan and Chemban have decent roles and have excelled. Chemban as a truck driver is intimidating.

Another impressive factor about the movie is the background music. It's a big factor in creating the mood for the film. The lead actors have done justice to their roles. I found it entertaining overall, but lacking nuances in the story.

Very very good acting, very nice story, and awesome thrilling last 45 minutes. I connect with the thrill. Good direction. Its not a masala movie. People who loves masala entertain, action , kissing scene or half naked girl dancing on the floor. Sorry its not for u. I loved ending scene.. don't show your anger or fighting everywhere but if it ever comes to your family dont spare anyone..loved it

I had not seen the trailer of this movie, and since I was spoiled by disappointing masala movies of similar style of names, I thought this movie was going to be some kind of masala action movie with no real story. But with in few minutes into this movie, I knew I was totally wrong about my prejudice and I was happy about it.

The story revolves around an incident that happened to the young married couple while on their trip after a huge fight between them. Dulquer plays the role of Sidharth who is really short tempered and has anger management issues. His wife, Anjali, played by Sai Pallavi, tries her best to help him manage his anger. They live pretty good loving life except the occasional little fights between them caused mostly because of Sid's short-temperness. Anyway, one day Sidharth's anger got out of his hand and one thing lead to another, which ended up having Anjali leave to her parents home. I hate to spoil rest of the movie here but I can guarantee it is one of the best and longest most intense sequence in malayalam movie ever.

Many elements of the movie can be related to almost all households. One scene that comes to my mind is when Sidharth asks Anjali drive the car and how her poor driving causes anger. So relatable to me.

All casts and crew of this movie did an excellent job making this movie. Chemban Vinod & Vinayakan deserves mention for their villain characters. Soubin Shahir's character was not only pivotal but also added some humor in the movie. Special appreciation to Rajesh Gopinadhan & Sameer Thahir for the prefect ending of the movie.

I guess the moral of the story would be:

1) Being able to control anger is necessary skill. 2) Driving is an important skill to have in today's world regardless of gender.
