On Wednesday June 5, cameras will begin rolling on Private Eyes West Coast, the light crime drama for Global that reunites Priestley and Sampson as quick-witted sleuths Matt Shade and Angie Everett from the original Private Eyes in a new Canadian West Coast location.

The ten-episode spinoff series, announced back in March, will see them taking on a fresh set of cases in Victoria, B.C., with the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop. Lionsgate Canada and Wild Cards studio Piller/Segan, which also made the original, are co-producing the show, with Lionsgate Television handling international distribution.

Netflix’s new take on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie has added six cast members. Jocko Sims, Warren Christie, Wren Zhawenim Gotts, Meegwun Fairbrother, Alyssa Wapanatahk, and Xander Cole have joined the series, which is set to star Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls. All but Cole have signed on as series regulars, with Cole on board in a recurring role.

Previously announced cast members also include Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls, and Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls. Rebecca Sonnenshine is serving as showrunner and executive producer along with Joy Gorman Wettels, Trip Friendly, Dana Fox, and Susanna Fogel. Bill Kenwright, the prolific West End producer behind the hit musicals Blood Brothers, Whistle Down the Wind and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat who would later go on to become an owner and chairman of his boyhood soccer club Everton, has died. He was 78.

In a statement, Everton said Kenwright died peacefully, “surrounded by his family and loved ones.” This month, the Premier League club revealed that Kenwright had recently undergone surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his liver.

“The world of British theatre without Bill Kenwright seems impossible,” said fellow theater impresario Cameron Mackintosh in a statement on X. “In my lifetime, there has never been anyone like Bill. He’s totally irreplaceable, and we will miss him so.”

Kino Lorber has acquired North American rights to the documentary about “The Right Stuff” and “The Bonfire of the Vanities” writer Tom Wolfe titled “Radical Wolfe,” the company announced on Wednesday.

The documentary is an official adaptation of the 2015 Vanity Fair article “How Tom Wolfe Became … Tom Wolfe” by Michael Lewis, best-selling author of “Moneyball” and “The Big Short” and a longtime personal friend of Wolfe.

Kino Lorber is planning a theatrical release later this year followed by a digital and home video release on all major platforms.
