Mark Hamill reveals why he hated the name Luke Skywalker while filming 'A New Hope'
Image
It is now a well-known fact that Luke Skywalker's last name in the original script of A New Hope, then titled just Star Wars, was Starkiller. It was later changed to the iconic version, which went on to define the entire saga across three trilogies.

But when the swap was done, Mark Hamill was not one of the first people to find out.

Speaking on This Morning, Hamill reminisced about filming an eight-page screen test for the first movie with Harrison Ford. The actor admitted that he did not have any clue about the rest of the story, and even presumed that Ford would play the protagonist, and he would be the leading man's teenage "annoying sidekick."

Imagine Hamill's surprise when he found out that was not the case. However, neither Ford nor George Lucas was of much help when he asked for more context clues. Lucas, famously, did...

The 7 most underrated ships in the Star Wars galaxy
Image
Star Wars is known for its iconic ships—the Millennium Falcon, X-wings, Tie fighters, and Star Destroyers are all synonymous with the franchise. Even people who haven’t seen a single Star Wars film could probably pick the Falcon out of a lineup, such is its importance in popular culture. However, for every Millennium Falcon or Star Destroyer, there are lesser-known ships that played crucial roles in the galaxy’s story. These underrated vessels often get overlooked in favor of their more famous counterparts, but many are just as important, and some even boast unique designs and history that deserve more attention.

Here’s a deep dive into seven of the most underrated ships in the galaxy.

1. The Yt-2400 Light Freighter

While the Millennium Falcon, a Yt-1300, is the most famous Yt-class freighter, it's far from the only one. Enter the Yt-2400, a variant that bears a striking resemblance to...

A guide to Star Wars’ unseen Jedi: The lost and forgotten masters
Image
The Star Wars galaxy is vast, filled with countless Jedi who have shaped history. While some – like Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, and Master Yoda – are celebrated in the Star Wars films and mainstream media, many others remain in the shadows, their stories largely untold. These "Lost Jedi" are characters whose legacies have been obscured by time, conflict, or the machinations of the Sith. Here, we delve into some of these forgotten masters, exploring their roles and the impact they've had on the Jedi Order and the galaxy at large.

To set the stage, following the fall of the Jedi Order in Revenge of the Sith (19 Bby), the Sith nearly eradicated the Jedi. However, a few Jedi managed to survive the onslaught of Order 66 and the subsequent rise of the Galactic Empire. These Jedi became crucial figures in rebuilding and preserving the Jedi legacy. Let's explore these "Lost Jedi...

This Week in Star Wars Comics: Little bit of EU content for a cold week
Image
It's the dead of winter and that post holiday gloom. Maybe you're not keeping up with your resolutions... that is unless your New Year's resolution was to read more Star Wars comics! There are two books out this week to curl up with as we all try to stay warm.

This Week in Star Wars Comics is The Battle of Jakku - Last Stand #2 and Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3.

Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3.

I'm going to switch it up and start with the trade paperback that came out on Tuesday. Personally, I've been on a bit of a Star Wars Legends kick the last few months as I prepare to go to Legends Expo in September. As a newbie to this content, it's been truly fun to dive deeper into this part of Star Wars.

Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 3 is part of the Epic Collection,...

The Phantom Menace Star Jake Lloyd Shares Update On His Mental Health And Why He's Grateful For Star Wars Fans
Image
2024 marked 25 years since the release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. However, one actor who wasn't among those celebrating the anniversary was Jake Lloyd. He played Anakin Skywalker in the 1999 movie and is now 35; as his mother explained last March, he's dealt with serious mental health issues over the past couple of decades.

She revealed that her son had been diagnosed with schizophrenia before suffering a full-blown psychotic break which saw him admitted to a mental health rehabilitation facility.

Having now completed an 18-month stay there, Jake recently spoke to Clayton Sandell (the reporter who spoke to his mom last March) from a new rehabilitation centre "where he’s still receiving treatment but is basically free to come and go as he pleases."

Sandell made the actor aware of the love he now receives from Star Wars fans to which he responded (via SFFGazette.com), "The experience I've had with the fans is immediately therapeutic.

Jake Lloyd breaks silence on mental health struggles, Star Wars legacy, and the power of fan connection
Image
If you're one of the countless fans touched by Jake Lloyd's innocent portrayal of the young Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace, then you've probably been worried about Lloyd, who's taken a break from the limelight.

Lloyd sat down for an interview with Clayton Sandell, who spoke to his mom last March. The interview received an overwhelmingly positive response, and Jake's mom, Lisa Lloyd, told Clayton that Jake would like to speak to him.

In the brand new conversation, we finally hear from Lloyd after he backed away from the spotlight in the last few years. Lloyd, who's been battling schizophrenia for years, just completed an 18-month-long stay at a mental health facility in Southern California. While his treatment is ongoing, and he's at a new rehab center, he's allowed to do what he wants.

Lloyd's mom revealed that he's struggled with a condition that kept him in denial about his schizophrenia symptoms.

"I’m Holding Out For May The Fourth With My Mom": The Phantom Menace Actor Jake Lloyd Gives Rare, Optimistic Update On Mental Health & The Star Wars Franchise
Image
Jake Lloyd, the actor who played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, has given a heartwarming update about his connection to the franchise and his mental health condition. One of the most important aspects of The Phantom Menace's complex timeline is the introduction of Anakin Skywalker. When watching the Star Wars movies in chronological order, Jake Lloyd's Anakin is the first exposure audiences have to the Chosen One of the Force. However, Lloyd's life since then has been difficult, making his rare update an incredibly important and touching one.

In a Substack post by Clayton Sandell, this update from Lloyd is presented. Sandell was responsible for outlining a somewhat harrowing update from Jake's mother, Lisa, about Lloyd's life in 2024 that explored the former actor's experience living with schizophrenia and the prolonged acting break that came after his appearance in Star Wars. Upon reaching out for another update,...

Why George Lucas Changed Luke's Original Name, Explained By Mark Hamill
Image
47 years after the release of the first Star Wars movie, Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, has explained why George Lucas changed the character's name into the iconic version that it is today. It's a well-known fact that Luke's name in the original Star Wars (later retitled A New Hope) scripts was actually "Luke Starkiller", a much more aggressive version of the heroic surname that has come to define the Star Wars episodic saga. Over the years, the reasoning for this change has been explained in places, but Hamill himself has now provided his own explanation.

Hamill reveals on the Politickin' podcast how he was made aware of his character's name change, as well as the circumstances surrounding it. He says that the scene where Luke introduces himself to Princess Leia inside her cell had already been shot with Luke's Starkiller surname, and that Hamill was confused to see the same...

It’s a Damn Shame Kathleen Kennedy Greenlit the Acolyte but Won’t Give Us a Show on the One Character Whose Force Powers Rival Vader
Image
The Star Wars universe has interesting characters and periods that tell many stories. However, one of the most popular stories in the franchise remains that of Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader and his rise and fall as a Jedi. As a result, it is shocking that the only other character who rivals Vader’s Force abilities and story arc has been largely ignored.

The Acolyte was a major misfire for Star Wars (Credit: Lucasfilm).

Under Kathleen Kennedy’s reign, several Star Wars projects have been commissioned for streaming services. However, shows like The Acolyte proved to be complete duds and fans largely turned their backs on such projects. As a result, Kennedy must revisit one popular character that has largely been forgotten.

Kathleen Kennedy Should’ve Greenlit a Galen Marek / Starkiller Project Over The Acolyte

Unused Force Unleashed Story Would've Revealed The Last Skywalker... & A Star Wars Future I'm Still Desperate To See
Image
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, but it almost featured the last Skywalker in Star Wars' far future. According to The Art and Making of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed by W. Haden Blackman and Brett Rector, the game went through several changes in development and originally had a completely different story. One of these ideas, dubbed "Jedi Outlaw," would have continued the Skywalker legacy and taken Star Wars into the future like no story has done before or since.

In a time when most Star Wars stories don't stray too far from parts of the timeline that are familiar, having a plot that could go in this direction sounds exciting to me. It's fun to contemplate what could have been and imagine if any upcoming Star Wars movies will tackle this kind of story. There are also plenty of game mechanics...

Starkiller, Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice: Force Powers, Rebel Alliance Role, & Canon References Explained
Image
While it's a well-known fact in Star Wars that Darth Vader was hopeful to overthrow Emperor Palpatine, it's perhaps lesser known that, in Star Wars Legends, he began this process long before the original trilogy era by recruiting an apprentice known as Starkiller. Born as Galen Marek, Starkiller's story was revealed in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video games, which followed his journey from the child of two Jedi to one of the galaxy's most powerful Sith apprentices. Though the games are no longer considered canon, Starkiller's story still matters, and is certainly worth knowing.

The Force Unleashed was released in 2008, around the same time that the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and TV show launched - which means that Starkiller has been around for just as long as many iconic Clone Wars characters have, including Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. His story, however, is one of tragedy and betrayal,...

John Boyega Endorses Fan-Favorite Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Relationship
Image
John Boyega, who portrays Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, shows his support for a fan-favorite relationship that never came to pass by endorsing it on social media. Boyega and his fellow co-star, Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), have long since shown their support for the ship named "Finnpoe," which began the moment the pair first met in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In a new Instagram story, however, John Boyega takes his support to the next level. He shows off a friendship bracelet given to him at New York City Comic-Con that says "Finnpoe," complete with rainbow-colored beads. Boyega adds no captions, as the bracelet certainly speaks for itself.

This support for Finnpoe may not be anything new from Boyega, but it's still promising to hear that he continues to endorse it even 5 years after the Star Wars sequel trilogy has come to an end. Hopefully, this means that...

Star Wars has confirmed a thrilling link between the canon Imperial Inquisitors and Galen Marek, Darth Vader's secret apprentice from Legends. This Terrifying Sith Lord Cosplay Would Be A True Force To Be Reckoned With

The Sith were believed to be extinct for centuries during the time of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Composer Wilbert Roget II On The Wild World Of Star Wars Outlaws
Image
There is a wide consensus that the vibes in Star Wars Outlaws are so good that its easy to overlook whatever bugs and idiosyncrasies are often present in an open-world title at launch. As much as other games have allowed players to explore their favorite fictional galaxy, Ubisoft and Massive have arguably made it feel more alive than ever before. Planets new and familiar alike teem with criminals, opportunists, and everyday people getting by under the thumb of the Empire, and the games protagonist Kay Vess is just green enough to make players feel as though theyre experiencing it all for the first time.

Those in search of further proof that Outlaws is Star Wars done right need look no further than its music. Wilbert Roget, II spearheaded the score, and while he brought on other composers to write music for different planets, cantina jukeboxes, and Kessel Sabacc games, he...

10 Star Wars Stories that Would Make Great R-Rated Movies
Image
Since Star Wars takes place in such vast galaxy, it is no surprise that there are an abundance of what kinds of stories can be told. Fans have seen everything from treasure hunts, to epic romances, and of course, the titular wars that play out across various battlefields. One of the downsides of being a fan of this franchise though is that there are so few truly dark storylines on the bigscreen.

Fortunately, other forms of media have picked up the slack from the movies. There are several books, comics, and videogames, all of which depict far darker and more disturbing events than the movies could ever get away with. At the same time, it is a shame that none of them will be adapted for the bigscreen. Some of the best Star Wars content out there comes from these stories which could easily earn an R-rating.

George Lucas Made One Massive Luke Skywalker Change On The First Day Of Filming Star Wars
Image
George Lucas originally planned for Luke Skywalker to be named Starkiller. The name Starkiller was later used for a character in the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Lucas feared negative comparisons to the Manson Murders, leading to the change to Skywalker.

The creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, made one massive change to the character of Luke Skywalker in the earliest days of A New Hope's production. Then simply titled after the franchise itself, A New Hope is the first Star Wars movie in release order. Since then, Lucas has naturally gone back and changed the chronological order of the Star Wars franchise, with upcoming Star Wars movies planning to take this to another level with James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi movie.

Regardless of what took place before and after A New Hope, the film remains the centerpiece of the Star Wars franchise. Even still, there...

Star Wars has a wide-reaching canon that is constantly evolving and expanding, with each new addition, with the latest being The Acolyte. The Star Wars Games That Revolutionized Lightsaber Combat

Will An R-Rated Star Wars Story Ever Happen? Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni Sounds Open To The Idea
Image
Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filona comments on the possibility of an R-rated Star Wars movie. After George Lucas first brought the beloved franchise to life back in 1977, numerous other filmmakers have put their own stamp on Star Wars. There have now been 11 live-action films and multiple animated and live-action shows, and, while they all have their differences, the one thing about the franchise that remains consistent with each one is that they don't feature an MPA rating any higher than PG-13.

During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Filoni is directly asked about whether an R-rated Star Wars movie could be on the cards.

While the Lucasfilm Cco notably avoids giving a direct answer one way or another, he does generally seem open to the idea of filmmakers bringing their own sensibilities to Star Wars, and this could seemingly entail an R-rating. Check...

Carrie Fisher's Best Friend Reveals Her First Thoughts On Star Wars
Image
Carrie Fisher initially thought that Star Wars was a "really stupid script" and believed the movie would be a disaster. Despite Fisher's low expectations, Star Wars became a massive success, earning millions and spawning a beloved franchise. Griffin Dunne, Fisher's best friend, shared Fisher's frustration with the film, highlighting her disdain for acting alongside certain characters.

Carrie Fisher did not expect Star Wars to succeed when she first began production. Fisher, who became an integral part of the Star Wars movie universe as Princess Leia, was just 19 years old when she began playing Leia. She starred in A New Hope alongside Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, and Alec Guinness. While she hardly expected the movie to be anything successful, it earned an initial $410 million on a budget of $11 million and has earned $775 million after its various re-releases.

Griffin Dunne, Fisher's best friend, spoke to The Sunday Times about Fisher's...

Why Star Wars Changed Star Wars Rebels' Most Famous Spaceship For Ahsoka (& Not For Rogue One)
Image
The iconic Star Wars starship Ghost underwent significant changes when transitioning from animation to live action. Production designers Doug Chiang and Andrew L. Jones altered the Ghost's design to fit better on screen while staying true to its essence. The shift from animation to live action required balancing 80% Earth reality with 20% exotic tweaks for an authentic Star Wars feel.

The famous Star Wars starship Ghost made the jump from animation to live-action in Ahsoka, and its depiction needed some extreme changes. Introduced in Star Wars Rebels, the Ghost is the ship that carried Ahsoka, Ezra Bridger, and other crew members who starred in Ahsoka. The ship also made an appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016. While the ship was defined over Rebel's four seasons, translating animation to live action is difficult.

The beloved ship endured massive changes when changing from animation to live-action. In a video released by IndieWire,...

New Kotor & Force Unleashed Action Figures Unveiled By Hot Toys, Bringing Darth Revan & Starkiller To Life
Image
Hot Toys has announced two stunning new 1/6th scale action figures inspired by Star Wars Legends. A new Darth Revan figure brings Kotor's champion to life. Meanwhile, another figure celebrates Darth Vader's Legends apprentice, Starkiller.

Hot Toys has officially announced two stunning new Star Wars 1/6th scale action figures, featuring Darth Revan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Darth Vader's apprentice, Starkiller, from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Disney officially relaunched the Star Wars canon on April 25, 2014, almost ten years ago to the day. Incredibly, though, characters from the old Expanded Universe - now rechristened "Legends" - remain massively popular. Some, such as Grand Admiral Thrawn, have even made their way back into canon.

It is fitting, then, that Hasbro has officially announced two new stunning 1/6th scale action figures: Darth Revan from Kotor and Starkiller from The Force Unleashed. These special editions are available in selected markets,...

10 Star Wars Lightsaber Designs That Are So Much Cooler Than Anything In The Movies
Image
Lightsaber designs in Star Wars novels and games are more creative and unique than those seen in the movies. Some standout lightsaber designs include extendable, crossguard, and double-bladed pike variations. Colors like purple (Mace Windu) and yellow have expanded the lightsaber lore beyond the films.

Star Wars has included a number of incredible lightsabers in the nearly five decades of Star Wars movies and TV shows since the franchise began, but some lightsaber designs from various Star Wars shows, books, and video games are even better than the movies. There are many types of lightsabers in Star Wars canon, and the designs have become more innovative over time. Lightsaber colors and their meanings have also expanded, beginning with Jedi Master Mace Windu's purple saber in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones but becoming even more diverse in more recent Star Wars projects.

However, some of the very...

13 Star Wars Canon Stories That Are Pulled Straight From Legends
Image
Star Wars canon often draws inspiration from Legends, with similarities between characters and plotlines. Notable comparisons in canon include Darth Vader's apprentices, Quinlan Vos, Han and Leia's son, and more. Some similarities are so striking that they allow for insightful comparisons between the two versions of the story.

When Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, the original Expanded Universe was rebranded as "Legends," but these stories have inspired new tales in the official canon. Sometimes, this inspiration involves incorporating a Legends character into the Star Wars movies and TV shows or bringing back locations and groups for entirely new plotlines. Considering how many Star Wars stories have been released across every medium, it's inevitable that some projects will feel similar, even by coincidence.

However, some canon stories are so much like Legends that the similarities are impossible to ignore. Most often, this results from new authors having...

Star Wars: The Canceled Jedi Knight Game No One Remembers
Image
LucasFilm has recently opened up a new studio dedicated to the creation and launch of games based on George Lucas’ iconic cinematic franchises. While LucasFilm Games might not quite measure up to the LucasArts of old just yet, it’s clear that the Star Wars series is going to be a priority for the studio, as it was for its predecessor. This expansion of the brand has already led to original titles like Squadrons and Jedi: Survivor getting launched to phenomenal success.

However, LucasFilm is also dipping into the archives and celebrating older titles with remastered editions of the likes of Battlefront and Jedi Dark Forces. The latter is an especially important title in Star Wars history that spawned many sequels. However, the Dark Forces series also highlights a major culture of cancelation at LucasFilm, with a mysterious, suspected final Dark Forces entry seemingly getting canned before it could ever...

10 Most Amazing Force Feats In Star Wars History
Image
The Force allows unprecedented feats in Star Wars, challenging and expanding its possibilities. Memorable Force feats build off past knowledge, keeping the timeline consistent. Starkiller, Luke, Rey, and more showcase remarkable Force abilities.

Star Wars has often argued that anything is possible through the Force, and feats performed by several characters have proved this to be accurate. The first Star Wars movie showed how the Force allowed people to influence minds, sense death across a galaxy, and fire a million-to-one shot to destroy a space station. Subsequent Star Wars stories, both canon and Legends, have pushed the bounds of what can be done with the Force and created some of the franchise's most iconic moments.

The best Force feats in Star Wars challenge what was previously thought possible, going bigger in scope or having a more meaningful impact on the characters. However, the most memorable Force feats also build off what has come before,...

Starkiller's Star Wars Origin Created A Massive Legends Plot Hole - But Canon's Fixed It
Image
The Legends continuity in Star Wars managed to maintain a mostly consistent timeline, but The Force Unleashed video games introduced one key inconsistency that wasn't resolved. Star Wars Legends was for the most part effective at using retcons and the like to fix its timeline, but the issue of the Rebel Alliance logo was never fixed by Legends. The origin of the Rebel Alliance logo in the Legends continuity contradicted its established origin in the Heir to the Empire sourcebook, but the modern Star Wars canon corrected this by providing a simpler and straightforward origin story.

Starkiller, the protagonist of the Star Wars Legends-era video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, created a continuity error in the Legends timeline that the modern Star Wars canon avoided. Starkiller is exclusive to the Legends continuity, which ceased to be the official Star Wars canon in 2014 when the franchise underwent a partial reboot.

The 10 Best Star Wars Stories Set In The Original Trilogy Era
Image
The original Star Wars trilogy has spawned a vast catalog of books, comics, and other media that expand on the story and characters. The Force Unleashed video game and Rogue One both offer compelling and emotionally impactful stories set during the early days of the Rebel Alliance. Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars and Star Wars Infinities provide non-canon yet entertaining and creative takes on the original trilogy.

The original Star Wars trilogy is still considered the franchise's magnum opus after 40 years, but it has also spawned countless stories set during the same era. Before the first film hit theaters in 1977, Star Wars had received a novelization and a comic adaptation, offering dedicated sci-fi readers a preview of what would become one of the all-time greatest movies. Star Wars books and comics continued to expand the original trilogy era during the wait between films, with more stories added over time to create a vast catalog.

Top 10 Star Wars Fighters Who Aren't Jedi Or Sith, Ranked Worst To Best
Image
Characters like Kleef, Phasma, and Morgan Elsbeth prove that you don't need the Force to be a formidable fighter in the Star Wars universe. From skilled swordsmanship to advanced combat styles, these characters have unique abilities that make them nearly impossible to defeat. Whether it's armor, special powers, or sheer determination, these non-Jedi and non-Sith characters expanded the Star Wars galaxy for those outside both orders.

The Jedi and the Sith are masters of the Force with superb combat abilities, but the Star Wars universe has many fighters that don't belong to either group. Bounty hunters, military officers, and gangsters are only a few examples of those who don't require the Force to excel in combat. However, the Force doesn't belong to the Jedi or the Sith, meaning several characters possess all the same skills.

Many of these characters were specially trained to kill Jedi, using special weapons and fighting styles to counter Force-sensitives.

Star Wars Rebels Almost Made The Force Unleashed's Starkiller Into An Inquisitor
Image
"Star Wars Rebels" is one of the best things to ever happen to "Star Wars." This is an animated show that has become essential to understanding the overall franchise: a show with a great ensemble, different-looking lightsabers, a fantastic fight between Maul and Obi-Wan, and which shone a light on the origins of the Rebellion years before "Andor."

But before "Rebels," there was "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed." This action-adventure video game tells an original story about "Starkiller," born Galen Marek. He is the child of a Jedi who is taken in by Darth Vader and trained as his secret apprentice to track down and kill any Jedi who survived Order 66 -- much like the Inquisitors that would later become canon. Years later, Vader gives his apprentice a new task — to plant the seeds for what will become the Rebel Alliance, which Vader will then use to overthrow the Emperor.

Shaaki Ti Has Died Four Times in Stars Wars
Image
Shaak Ti's fate in Star Wars has been a subject of debate for over a decade. One death scene shows her being stabbed by General Grievous, another depicts Anakin killing her during the Jedi Temple attack, and a third shows her being stabbed in a vision by Anakin's lightsaber. While her true fate remains unknown, it is likely that Shaak Ti was killed during Order 66, possibly by Anakin Skywalker.

Star Wars is no stranger to tragedy, with the fate of the Jedi Order being the most obvious example. Out of the thousands who lived during the prequel era, Luke Skywalker was left as the last remaining Jedi just 23 years after Order 66. The grim fate of most Jedi has been left to the imagination. However, one Jedi Master has received four notable on-screen deaths, resulting in fan debate about which version is actually canon.

Shaak Ti was one of the few...

A Star Wars Theory Suggest Ahsoka Won't Unmask Marrok
Image
The following contains spoilers for Ahsoka, Season 1, Episode 3, "Time to Fly," now streaming on Disney+.

Ahsoka has brought a selection of new villains into the Star Wars galaxy. The latest Disney+ Star Wars series, which picks up after Ahsoka Tano's appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, has revealed a trio of new dark-side users who are active in the era of the New Republic. These villains have been summoned to the aid of Morgan Elsbeth in her mission to bring Grand Admiral Thrawn back to the galaxy. Their introduction to the series has seen a wave of fan theories emerge regarding their backstory and, particularly in the case of the Inquisitor Marrok, their true identities.

While little is known of Marrok's two associates, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, these two at least show their faces and use their full names. It has also been revealed that...

Ahsoka Is the Perfect Place for This Star Wars Legends Character to Debut
Image
The Ahsoka show on Disney Plus is set to see the live-action debut of a long-time fan-favorite character, Grand Admiral Thrawn. The inclusion of Thrawn in live-action form is a long time coming since he was originally introduced in the novel Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn in 1991. The sequel trilogy didn't adapt as much of the novel trilogy as many fans would have liked, so Ahsoka is serving as a big stand-in after Thrawn's canon debut in Star Wars: Rebels.

With the Disney Plus shows seemingly forming some type of adaptation of the Heir to the Empire trilogy, there's one major character from the novels that hasn't made the jump yet: Mara Jade Skywalker. With Ahsoka serving as both a sequel to Star Wars: Rebels and The Mandalorian, it's the perfect place for Mara Jade to make her live-action debut following Thrawn.

Vader's Apprentice Starkiller's Long Journey To Becoming Star Wars Canon Explained
Image
Starkiller's inclusion in Star Wars canon was teased four years ago and has been a subject of speculation and theories among fans ever since. Many hope for his return to the franchise. The Mandalorian and Andor have both dropped hints that suggest Starkiller could be reintegrated into Star Wars canon. These nods to the character have excited fans and fueled their speculation even more. Reintroducing Starkiller into Star Wars canon would require significant changes to his story, particularly his role in the formation of the Rebel Alliance. However, the compelling nature of the character and the talent of actor Sam Witwer make it a worthwhile endeavor. Whether it happens in Ahsoka or another upcoming project remains to be seen.

Despite the endless Ahsoka theories that the show will introduce Galen Marek/Starkiller to Star Wars canon, the character's inclusion was teased four years ago. Galen Marek was the protagonist...

Star Wars Fans Spot Starkiller Voice-Actor In Ahsoka's Credits - Does It Mean What Everybody Thinks?
Image
Warning! This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka episodes 1 and 2.

Star Wars fans speculate on who Sam Witwer is voicing in Ahsoka, with theories suggesting he could be playing Starkiller or a new character. While Witwer's involvement in Ahsoka is exciting, it doesn't necessarily mean he will be bringing Starkiller to live-action. There are still many theories surrounding the identity of Inquisitor Marrok, with possibilities ranging from Ezra Bridger to a brand-new character.

Star Wars fans have spotted the voice-actor for Starkiller in the credits of Ahsoka, but it may not mean what everyone thinks it does. Starkiller, also known as Galen Marek, originated in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game as the dark apprentice of Darth Vader. The character is both voiced by and shares the likeness of Sam Witwer, an actor who has often lent his talents to the Star Wars universe - most notably as Darth Maul...

5 Star Wars Characters Who Survived Being Stabbed By Lightsabers
Image
This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka episodes 1 & 2.A surprising number of Star Wars character seem able to survive lightsaber injuries. Powered by Force-imbued kyber crystals, lightsabers are among the most dangerous weapons in the galaxy - especially when they're wielded by a skilled Jedi or Sith. Surprisingly, though, they seem to be becoming a lot less deadly as the franchise goes on, with several characters surviving being stabbed by lightsabers. The Ahsoka Disney+ TV show is just the latest to see plot armor allow one character to walk away from what should have been a deadly lightsaber stabbing, but the issue has existed for a long time - in both canon and Star Wars legends.

Darth Maul, Maw, Kylo Ren, and Finn all survived wounds that should have been fatal - Darth Maul's survival being one of the most staggering examples, given he was cut in two. On one occasion in Star Wars Tales,...
