If you watched "The Chameleon" before "Obsession: Dark Desires" (both are made by the same channel/ company) then it would play as any other badly edited made for TV movie. However, if like me, you watched April Hughes and Martin Behrman play Sarah and Stephen Peter Morin, then you would wonder why they didn't just expound upon that version? They played the scenes and characters in such a personal and chilling way that this version of the serial killer's tale seems jumbled and disconnected. It's too bad because it is an interesting and thrilling story- just not the way this version played out. In a word it was - disappointing. The story was out of order, didn't make much sense and I didn't care about the characters. It didn't draw me in or make me want to commit to it. Save your time and just watch the tv show version.
British main cast does wonderful southwestern American accents. I wish American actors would learn to do them as well. I was amazed when I found afterwards that they were not Americans. Good thriller, but I thought it got unrealistic the way it played out at the end.
This was a slow burn, but the turns it took kept me watching.
My only complaint, and I say this not because I don't appreciate great looking older women playing roles that are younger than they actually are, but in this case, she could have been the guy's mother. The guy is about 40 or 41 when this was done and she looks in her mid sixties.
I get that the character was using women, but this was pushing it too far, seeing as everyone else he went after was indeed young to the point of being younger than he is.
Call me nit-picky, but that's what killed the review points for me.
