Dr. Li Finnegan is one of the best doctors on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, she has already made two major mistakes in her career. If someone exposes her, she could lose her job.

Dr. Li (Naomi Matsuda) let her feelings get the better of her. She was angry towards her ex-husband Jack (Ted King) and her sister Poppy (Romy Park). Li was convinced they slept together. She realized this when she learned that Tom Starr (Howard Clint) wasn’t Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) father.

Li took this paternity drama into her own hands. First, she confronted her sister. Then, she convinced Jack to see her at the office. That’s when she cornered him and Poppy about what’s been bothering her all this time. Li believed they had an affair, but that turned out to be not true.

Remy sent the photos to Katie (Heather Tom). She’s already in the middle of a PR mess, and now she has to brush this latest scandal under the rug before it worsens.

“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” has seen a 16% uptick in viewership compared to last year, TheWrap can reveal exclusively.

The CBS late night show has averaged 3.61 million total viewers during the 2024-25 broadcast season so far, leading Colbert to maintain his spot as the No. 1 most-watched late night show, according to live-plus-seven-day viewership figures from VideoAmp.

Late night wasn’t the only area CBS saw year-over-year growth, with several of its daytime dramas and game shows also seeing ratings gains. For the fall broadcast season thus far, “The Young and the Restless” scored an average total viewership of 5.09 million — up 5% from last season — while “The Bold and the Beautiful” averaged 4.13 million total viewers — also marking a 5% uptick from last year.

Netflix is rapidly expanding its Korean unscripted TV content slate. It will launch ten shows this year, more than double the number from 2022. They range from romance to cooking and comedy.

Yoo Hi-kwan director of content at Netflix Korea, says quantity was not the goal. “It’s important to be loved locally first before we can win over global audiences. Each show has its own unique appeal that matches what they want,” he said.

The new slate kicks off with “The Influencer,” debuting on Aug. 6, followed by “A-List to Playlist,” chronicling actor Cho Jung-seok’s journey to debut as a singer.

“The Influencer” is a social survival competition show where 77 of South Korea’s top influencers compete to determine who holds the greatest sway. Produced by Kakao Entertainment, it includes prominent figures like Jang Keun-suk, Risabae, PaniBottle, Jin Yong-jin, Shim Eu-ddeum, and DaeDo.

That’s even more remarkable since it didn’t win its first Best Actress trophy until 2000. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is one of the show’s past winners for playing Steffy Forrester. “Gh” is up for Best Drama Series, as are the other three soaps remaining on the air: “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “The Young and the Restless.” But those other shows aren’t nearly as represented in the overall nominations totals. In second place behind “Gh” is “Days” with 11 bids, then “Y&r” with 10, and “B&b” with nine. To put things in perspective, “Gh” has more nominations just for acting (16) than any other soap has overall.

So does that mean “Gh” is a lock for Best Drama Series?...

Courtney Hope is departing Los Angeles for Genoa City. The former star of “The Bold and the Beautiful” posted a photo of herself on Instagram on August 20 wearing “The Young and the Restless” apparel with the caption, “This seems like a good fit.” Daytime Confidential subsequently confirmed that the actress is making the move from one soap to the other.

Hope first arrived on “B&b” in 2017 as Sally Spectra, the grandniece of a fashion mogul also named Sally Spectra and the granddaughter of Shirley Spectra (Patrika Darbo). The younger Sally was so obsessed with Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) that she pretended to be dying in order to keep him with her, and even kidnapped the woman he really loved, Flo (Katrina Bowden). Suffice it to say that didn’t pan out.

A member of the Forrester family is headed back to town — and with a brand new look.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Delon de Metz (Zoo) is joining the cast of CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful as the new Zende Forrester Dominguez. The character, who is the adopted son of Kristen Forrester and Tony Dominguez, was previously played by Daytime Emmy winner Rome Flynn from 2015-2017. Daniel E. Smith originated the role in 2001 before exiting the following year.

“Y&r” has perused its 47 seasons and pulled vintage weeks from days gone by, starting with a week in the life of Genoa City’s iconic Katherine Chancellor (played by the late Jeanne Cooper).

And “General Hospital” is now interweaving flashbacks into new episodes to stretch out its stockpile of already-shot material, while also giving lapsed viewers a chance to catch up on current story lines.

But more than anything else, Lee Phillip Bell, who died Feb. 25 at the age of 91, was remembered by friends and colleagues as a gracious, erudite and kindhearted person who was the definition of a “great lady,” in the words of “Y&r” star Eric Braeden.

“When she walked into a room, you just knew that this was someone worthy of enormous respect,” Braeden tells Variety. “You knew from talking to her that she was someone who was so informed about various subject matters and was so used to talking intelligently on television about them.”

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Bell created two of daytime television’s hit soap operas,”Y&r” and “B&b,” along with her late husband William J. Bell. In 1975, Bell won a Daytime Emmy for outstanding drama series for “Y&r” and received the Daytime Emmy’s lifetime achievement award in 2007.

Aside from her work in daytime television, Bell was a broadcast journalist who began her career in Chicago. She produced and and hosted her own show, “The Lee Phillip Show” for CBS TV for over 30 years. Throughout her career, she produced and narrated numerous award-winning specials and documentaries covering social concerns such as foster children, the subject of rape, children and divorce, and babies born to women in prison.
