Lots of fun

I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 400 (C H R I S T MA S ) MOVIES AND SPECIALS.

BEWARE OF BOGUS REVIEWS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. NOW I HAVE NO AGENDA! I AM HONEST! I REVIEW MOVIES & SPECIALS AS A WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT I HAVE SEEN!

If you grew up in the 1970's then every year at Christmas you knew that you and your brothers and sisters would watch all the "Christmas Cartoons". If you were older then you were able to watch "Bing Crosby's" annual Christmas special.

Now Bing Crosby was "Christmas" to millions of people. His film "White Christmas" is a classic as well as the tile song (However the song was originally first featured in the film "Holiday Inn").

Some of us feel that our Christmas was not complete if you missed "Bing Crosby's" special.

Now this special (as well as his others) always featured his family. So it was like having Christmas with "The Crosby's".

What I liked about this special was that it had great guest stars and everyone involved gives 100%. This special has its charms.

You can find this on line but I wish someone would release this on DVD.

If your a fan of vintage television specials then look for this!

I heartily enjoyed Bing Crosby and the Sounds of Christmas

Just watched this on YouTube, another of Bing's Christmas specials with his second family or as he calls it "Casa Crosby". The last one I saw of him with his family was a "Hollywood Palace" ep from 1968, so obviously in this one his offspring of Harry, Nathaniel, and Mary Frances (as she was ID'd at the time) are a little grown from then. Oh course, Bing's wife Kathryn is there as well and they all provide good voices accompanying Bing. Also guesting are fellow singers Robert Goulet and Mary Costa and a choir at various points in the show. In one musical sketch, Crosby plays a bum trying to get to jail because of the three square meals he gets and Goulet plays a cop and a few other characters, it's as charming as can be. In a later one, the two man and Ms. Costa play a vaudeville act in which they all dress in Santa suits. Then everyone gathers to play various Christmas songs before Bing does his "White Christmas" but not before his wife and Goulet asks about who's going to sing it with Bing putting them down at all times! But, at the end, his family, Goulet, and Ms. Costa sing background in the middle of the performance. One more thing, this was recorded without an audience but I didn't need one when hearing some of the funny lines as I laughed quite a bit at tome of those. Also, the version I saw on YouTube had some pixilation especially during "White Christmas". Oh, and this must have been from a local Los Angeles TV feed because the voiceover during the end credits was from Tom Brokaw who was an anchor over there at the time. Anyway, Bing Crosby and the Sounds of Christmas was a very enjoyable holiday special.
