These Women Regaled… Top 10 Women Characters In Bollywood
Image
In this amazing list, Subhash K Jha reveals his choice for the top 10 female characters in Bollywood.

Nargis’ Radha in Mehboob Khan’s Mother India(1957):

Nargis played Radha, the deserted wife who brings up her two sons on her own and kills one of them when he turns into an outlaw. For the first time in a Hindi film, the female protagonist was portrayed as strong, resilient, conscientious, and doughty without losing her femininity. Nargis won both national and international awards.

Meena Kumari’s Choti Bahu in Guru Dutt’s Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962): In the feudal household where women were content wearing expensive sarees and jewellery and never mind what their husbands did with other women, this wife dared to raise her voice. Image
Charades and WTFilms have teamed on “Vermin,” a horror movie set in the French projects with a cast of local up-and-coming actors, who star alongside real spiders.

The movie will mark the feature debut of Sébastien Vaniček, who previously directed critically acclaimed shorts such as “Mayday.” Harry Tordjman at My Box Films is producing.

“Vermin” stars Théo Christine (“Suprêmes”), Finnegan Oldfield (“Final Cut”), Jérôme Niel (“Smoking Causes Coughing”), Sofia Lesaffre (“Les Misérables”) and Lisa Nyarko.

The film is currently in shooting in Paris, with a March 3 end date. It will distributed in France by Tandem. France Télévisions pre-bought the movie and Netflix got the pay TV window in France.

“Vermin” is set in an underprivileged suburb that has been thrown into chaos following an invasion of venomous spiders. Ordered to be placed in quarantine, the project sees inhabitants living on lockdown alongside terrifying spiders that are becoming bigger and bigger.

First Trailer for Kidnapping Noir 'Rosy' with Nat Wolff & Stacy Martin
"I'm seeing that girl that I told you about... I'm scared I'm not doing this in the right way." The Orchard has debuted an official trailer for an odd little film titled Rosy, a dark comedy noir thriller about a socially awkward young man who kidnaps an aspiring actress in hopes she will fall in love with him. This is either very poorly timed, or perhaps an appropriately timed film showing how horrible this is and how unfunny kidnapping (even for love) is. Hopefully. Talented young actor Nat Wolff stars, along with Stacy Martin, plus a full cast including Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, and Sky Ferreira. I really don't know what to make of this, seems like a very odd mix of tones and plot twists and weird things galore. Unsure if it's worth a watch. Here's the first official trailer (+ promo poster) for Jess Bond's Rosy, direct ...

My Box Prods., the Paris-based company behind hit short-format series “Bref” and the critically acclaimed documentary “A voix haute,” is upping the ante with several uplifting documentaries, a “Serge le Mytho” feature spinoff and a drama series.

The company, founded by French siblings Harry and Anna Tordjman, is set to produce three new high-concept, highly cinematic documentaries, including Marine Barnérias’s “Rosy,” Mathias Pardo’s “Just Kids” and Coline Abert’s “Last Dance.”

Lensed by rising cinematographer Paavo Hanninen, “Last Dance” explores the world of Vinsantos Defonte, an icon of the U.S. drag scene in New Orleans. For more than 20 years, Defonte has been performing and teaching the art of transformation at the New Orleans Drag Workshop, driven by his political and artistic engagement. As he’s getting ready to retire due to health problems, Vinsantos has one last dream: to put on a final show in Paris.
