If you’re considering signing up or switching to Netflix’s advertising tier in the US, you need to be aware that 155 titles are blocked, meaning they’re unavailable to watch. Below is the list of titles you won’t be able to stream on Netflix’s advertising tier as of February 2025.

Launched in November 2022, Netflix’s ad tier notably had a few drawbacks. The biggest was that many big titles, including Netflix Originals, were unavailable to watch and were and continue to be blocked out. When the ad tier first launched, 5.1% of titles were unavailable. A few months later, it was 5.4% of the library in February 2023. On February 7th, 2024, only 175 titles were unavailable on the Netflix US library, representing a 50% decrease year-on-year. As of December 2024, the percentage has reduced again with 151 titles, representing 2% (a fall from 2.1% in November...

The Croods are back, but this time on the small screen. Our favorite cave dwelling family returns with a brand new series called The Croods: Family Tree. The Croods: Family Tree from DreamWorks Animation will arrive on Hulu and Peacock starting September 23, and is one of the many new series arriving this fall.

“The Croods: Family Tree,” a spinoff of the 2013 animated feature “The Croods” and last year’s sequel “The Croods: A New Age,” is a six-episode series centered on the character voiced by “Star Wars” star Kelly Marie Tran.

Per DreamWorks, “‘The Croods: Family Tree’ continues the ever-evolving story of the Croods and the Bettermans as they learn to live together on the most idyllic farm in prehistory. Animated sequel The Croods: A New Age laughed in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic, and unlike the vast majority of studio blockbusters that either packed up and fled to 2021 or went straight to streaming, the second outing for the prehistoric clan moved forward a month into November.

Of course, the studio tried to kill the Croods once before and failed, so they’re clearly made of tough stuff, and A New Age posted some surprisingly strong box office numbers, topping the domestic charts for three straight weeks and raking in close to $100 million globally before releasing on VOD last Friday.

The first installment is proving to be equally popular right now as well, with many Netflix subscribers presumably hosting a Croods double bill from the comfort of their own homes, and they might even be throwing in the four seasons of animated spinoff Dawn of the Croods for good measure.

Seven and a half years after the original first arrived, the Croods are getting a sequel that hits theaters in just under four weeks, and you have to admire DreamWorks and Universal’s determination to stick to their guns and release it on the big screen during a time when the theatrical industry is still a long way away from recovery. Not only is The Croods: A New Age one of the few mainstream titles arriving before the end of 2020, but it’s the only one that was actually moved forward on the calendar after having originally been scheduled for December.

DreamWorks’ last animated movie – Trolls World Tour – was the first major release to skip theaters and go straight to streaming following the coronavirus outbreak, but the studio’s latest release is sticking with cinemas. The Croods: The New Age – the long-delayed sequel to the 2013 caveman-themed family film – has just got a new poster which confirms it’s on track to hit the big screen this Thanksgiving.

Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener and Ryan Reynolds are all back from the first film as the various members of the Crood clan. As the poster below reveals, this time around, they’ll come up against a more highly evolved rival family, known as the Bettermans – as voiced by Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann and Kelly Marie Tran.

The first trailer for the upcoming second season of “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” has been revealed, and the Princess Rebellion is gaining ground in its fight against the Evil Horde.

The new season sees Adora accepting her identity as She-Ra, leader of the Princess Alliance while embarking on a quest of self-discovery to learn more about her past and her future. With She-Ra’s former pal Catra rising the ranks of the Evil Horde, the rebellion must fight to thwart her next attack.

Disney has cast New Zealand actor Yoson An for the key male role in its live-action “Mulan,” directed by Niki Caro.

An will star opposite Liu Yifei, who is playing the heroine Hua Mulan. She disguises herself as a man in order to spare her elderly father from having to join the military. An will play Chen Honghui, a confident and ambitious recruit who becomes Mulan’s ally and eventual love interest.

The film is a remake of Disney’s 1998 animated film. Jet Li will play the emperor of China, Gong Li will portray a powerful witch, and Donnie Yen will be Mulan’s mentor, Commander Tung. Chris Bender, Jason Reed, and Jake Weiner are producing the movie.

As if Netflix wasn’t taking over the world already, they are now teaming up with DreamWorks Animation Television with a view to entering the New Year with a bang and six new original TV series including the return of She-Ra: Princess of Power.

Three of the new series come off the back of their big screen debuts from 2017 with the likes of Trolls, The Boss Baby and Captain Underpants all getting the animated TV treatment and the much loved 80’s cartoon, She-Ra, who is the twin sister to He-Man, will be getting a revival as well. Trolls: The Beat Goes on! will be first off the block on January 19th, 2018. The premiere dates for the rest of the line-up are yet to be confirmed.

Netflix and Dreamworks Animation have announced that they have a new slate of animated series projects in development that are set to launch next year. One of the most exciting projects that came with the announcement includes a revival of the classic 80s series She-Ra: Princess of Power!

I hope that the series turns out to be good. I think it's something that my girls are going to love. I'm sure most of you are familiar with She-Ra, but if not, she is also known as Princess Adora and is the twin sister of Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man. She was kidnapped as a baby by the Horde's leader Hordak. She is eventually given the Sword of Protection, which parallels He-Man's Sword of Power, gaining the power to transform into She-Ra.

Why Should I Watch It? “Dear White People” is based on Justin Simien’s 2014 Sundance sensation of the same name, pulling characters and plot lines from the satirical comedy that helped introduce us to the glory that is Tessa Thompson. While the “Creed” star won’t be returning, other breakouts from the film are, and the core story — of a predominantly white Ivy League university facing a heated racial debate after a misguided blackface Halloween party — has been refined to fit a serialized format. Say good-bye to The Croods 2. Universal Pictures has officially pulled the plug on this sequel from DreamWorks Animation. The comedy adventure was announced even before the original Croods movie hit theaters in 2013. But now it has been tossed into the dustbin of history.

Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley made the announcement to employees at DreamWorks Animation headquarters in Glendale this past Thursday, which came as a shock to many. Production on the film was stopped immediately. Over 30 workers were deep into production on the sequel, which had been launched three and a half years ago. They are all looking for new jobs now.

Langley told those that were being laid off that she hopes to keep them at the company. The hope is to at least shift some of them to other projects that are still happening a DreamWorks Animation, such as Shrek 5. Some of these works may also...

Pixar Animation Studios was the big winner at the 43rd Annual Annie Awards, Saturday evening at UCLA’s Royce Hall. Inside Out won Best Animated Feature along with 11 other categories, including Outstanding Music – Michael Giacchino; Outstanding Editing – Kevin Nolting; Outstanding Production Design – Ralph Eggleston; Outstanding Voice Acting – Phyllis Smith as ‘Sadness’; Outstanding Writing – Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley; and Best Directing – Pete Docter.

You can bring Matt Damon home -- at least through digital download -- just in time to meet your family for the holidays. "The Martian," based on the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, is arriving on Digital HD on December 22, with the Blu-ray and DVD releases to follow on January 12. The 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and Digital HD releases have more than 90 minutes of special features, including an exclusive in-world retrospective starring Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Sean Bean, covering the "true" story behind the daring rescue seven years after the events of the film.
