Netflix has no shortage of iconic hits and shows that have become a cultural phenomenon today. Shows like Bridgerton and Stranger Things have garnered global acclaim. Coming on the heels of such shows is Wednesday. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show is based on the character Wednesday Addams by Charles Addams.
A darkly comedic take on the iconic tale of the Addams family, the show has captivated audiences since its debut in November 2022. While it was Jenna Ortega’s brilliant portrayal of Wednesday that garnered attention, over time its supporting characters have started gaining similar traction.
Blending gothic aesthetics, sharp wit, and supernatural intrigue all into one, the show is helmed by the visionary Tim Burton, becoming one of the most-watched English-language series on the streaming giant. Now a global sensation, amassing millions of views, the show has gained a fan following even from people in the industry.

Lady Gaga closed Netflix’s Tudum 2025 showcase at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on May 31, stepping from a velvet-lined coffin into strobing lights to deliver a three-song medley—“Zombieboy,” “Bloody Mary” and “Abracadabra”—before leading dancers dressed as Wednesday Addams through the TikTok-famous routine that propelled “Bloody Mary” back onto the charts in 2022.
Mid-performance the singer confirmed she will appear in Wednesday’s second season as Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore Academy teacher, an announcement Netflix echoed across its social feeds in real time. Entertainment Weekly reports that Rotwood’s arc unfolds in Part 2 of the season, premiering September 3.
Series co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who joined the Tudum stage earlier in the broadcast, promised “horror-movie-worthy moments” while unveiling the first six minutes, which place Jenna Ortega’s heroine in a candle-lit chase with a masked killer. Lady Gaga, the one and only “monster queen,” rose out of her coffin to perform a rousing medley of tunes that were very much on-theme with Wednesday, closing out Netflix’s Tudum with a nod to her newly confirmed role in the highly anticipated second season of the Jenna Ortega YA drama.
The Emmy, Grammy and Oscar winner took the stage at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum following the premiere of the first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2, which also showcased new cast member Haley Joel Osment, who plays a serial killer infinitely more likely to be a victim than the eponymous macabre teen he has kidnapped.
Beginning her performance at the streamer’s annual event, Gaga stepped out from a vertical coffin amid a sea of background dancers dressed in the vein of Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), singing track “Zombieboy” off of her recently released Mayhem, critically acclaimed and largely...

The news was announced at Netflix’s Tudum fan event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles Saturday, where Lady Gaga took the stage for a climactic — and Wednesday-themed — performance. Emerging from a coffin with the words “Here lies the monster queen” on the lid and backed by a cadre of Addams Family-esque dancers, Gaga performed “Zombieboy” from her recently released album Mayhem.

YouTube is an anomaly in the TV upfronts: Unlike other networks and streamers, it doesn’t present a big slate of new programming to whet Madison Avenue’s appetite for buying ads.
Instead, YouTube touts scale others can’t match. And to underscore the claim that the platform drives culture, it invited a bunch of personalities to this year’s YouTube Brandcast upfront presentation to wow the crowd — including Lady Gaga, who brought down the house with a rollicking five-song performance; MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson), YouTube’s most-followed creator; vlogger and podcaster Brittany Broski; Sean Evans, host of “Hot Ones”; and gaming streamer IShowSpeed. Also on hand: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who talked up the league’s deal for YouTube’s first free livestreamed NFL game next season.

Lady Gaga performed the biggest show of her career Saturday night, playing to an estimated 2.5 million fans at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach.
The show, dubbed Mayhem on the Beach, broke the record for the highest attended concert by a female artist, according to the show’s organizers. Madonna previously held the title for a show she performed at Copacabana Beach last year. Both events were free of charge.
Gaga brought her buzzy five-act performance, which she debuted during her Coachella headlining set last month. The “Abracadabra” singer’s show included her new album, Mayhem, along with several hits from her long career in pop, including “Paparazzi,” “Born This Way” and “Judas.” The 39-year-old singer just wrapped a performance of the show in Mexico City.
“Nothing could prepare me for the feeling I had during last night’s show — the absolute pride and joy I felt singing for the people of Brazil.

Onya Nurve did it.
It’s been a few days since Nurve, whose real name is Justin Woody, was crowned the winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 17, and it hasn’t quite clicked for the queen who has been celebrating since Friday and is now up at the crack of dawn, speaking to the press.
But one thing is clear, she’s proud of her win. For Nurve, it’s been a season. She dominated with four Main Challenge Wins, she wowed with her Eddie Murphy impersonation during the Snatch Game challenge, and she triumphed over Jewels Sparkles in the finale lip sync to take home the crown.
Nurve spoke with Variety to discuss her win, performing that finale lip sync to Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and what she’d like to do next.

In an interview with Consequence leading up to her second turn serving as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Lady Gaga told us what makes the late-night sketch show so unique. “I’ve always loved lots of different kinds of art. So being able to be a host, but also be the actor in the skits, and then be the musical guest and bring my artistry as Gaga — it’s really cool to be able to do it all in one place. SNL is such a rare show where they really do celebrate that.”

Speaking of “Abracadabra,” Lady Gaga may have pulled off the ultimate “Saturday Night Live” magic trick during her two musical numbers in this week’s episode: dancing furiously and singing live.
That combination is not for every “SNL” musical guest, let alone one who is also expending energy as a host who’s appearing in nearly every sketch in the show. But Gaga pulled it off with “Killah” aplomb … if that’s not a phrase that would offend the catchy-superlative-averse characters in the closing “No More Slay” skit.
Gaga appeared in every segment of the 90-minute show but two, the only exceptions being the Trump-themed cold open and Weekend Update. But whatever effort she’d put into practicing lines for the sketches clearly hadn’t taken any time away from whatever hours were spent rehearsing the choreography for two musical numbers that made “hyperkinetic” feel like a woeful understatement.

“I know you might be thinking I’m here to promote my album, Mayhem, but I’m actually here to remind you I’m an amazing actor,” she said during her monologue.
But, it turned out, Gaga was in full voice during the sketches.
After riding across New York on an electric suitcase in the opening sketch alongside Marcello Hernandez, Gaga teamed with Bowen Yang for a parody duet. Dressed in a red dress, the pair mocked up their own version of Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.”

Lady Gaga kicked off her Saturday Night Live episode with some jokes about her movie Joker: Folie à Deux.
“Anyway, I’m an actor now,” the Oscar and Grammy winner says during her opening monologue before quipping, “I select films that would showcase my craft as a serious actor, films such as Joker 2. Apparently, people thought it was awesome. Joaquin [Phoenix] and I even got nominated for a Razzie, which is an award for the worst films of the year. So we won worst onscreen duo.”
She continues, “But jokes on them. I love winning things. My Razzie brings me one step closer to an Egort. It’s like an Egot, but it’s hurtful.”

Lady Gaga's new album, Mayhem, just dropped on Friday, but a number of critics are already singing its praises. The album scored 85 on Metacritic based on the first 11 reviews counted. By the time you read this that number will likely have changed. But if it holds steady, Mayhem will be the highest-scoring record of her career.

"Bow down, little monsters!" says Helen Brown (The Independent UK). "For her sixth studio album, Mayhem hails the return of your Mama Monster to all her shock-horror-bop glory." She adds, "At a moment when America’s leaders seek to shove its marginalized citizens back into the shadows, she invites them back into the centre of the floor, celebrating their defiant differences in the bright strobe lighting."
Alexis Petridis (The Guardian) writes, "It’s consistently well-written, teeming with hooks and liberally sprinkled with intriguing musical left-turns.

She adds, "At a moment when America’s leaders seek to shove its marginalized citizens back into the shadows, she invites them back into the centre of the floor, celebrating their defiant differences in the bright strobe lighting."
Alexis Petridis (The Guardian) writes, "It’s consistently well-written, teeming with hooks and liberally sprinkled with intriguing musical left-turns.

In the lead-up to Lady Gaga’s latest album, Mayhem, there’s been a lot of talk about Gaga returning to her roots. It’s been five years since her last pop release, the Nineties-house-inspired, cyberpunk concept album Chromatica. Chalk it up to timing (it was released at the dawn of the pandemic), but the album didn’t inspire the type of fervor it deserved upon its release. Since then, she’s been back to focusing on movies and jazz, even combining those other two modes for Harlequin, a companion...

Lady Gaga has finally dropped her new album.
Mayhem is her long-awaited solo follow-up to 2020's Chromatica — not counting 2024's Harlequin, a Joker: Folie à Deux companion album. She has been busy since the start of the decade, recording her second collaborative album with Tony Bennett (Love for Sale) in 2021 and contributing music to 2022's Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack. "The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved," she told Pitchfork in January. Will her return to her roots bring her back to the Grammys?
Gaga has been a Recording Academy favorite from the very beginning, so much that it actually cost her a Best New Artist nomination. She had already contended for Best Dance Recording for her debut single "Just Dance" in 2009, so she was ineligible for the breakthrough award the following year when her debut album, The Fame, was eligible for consideration.

When Lady Gaga started making her new album, Mayhem, she felt the dark, ominous energy of her first two albums — The Fame Monster and Born This Way — luring her back in.
“It was really powerful,” she says on a recent call with Rolling Stone. “Maybe the last four or so albums I’ve made, I moved away from that and tried some different things, but this was a return to those Gothic dreams.”

Lady Gaga is about to make her fifth appearance as “Saturday Night Live” musical guest — and second as host — this weekend. So to prepare, she stopped by the 30 Rock offices to share her creative process with the cast.
In a new promo out Wednesday, the “Abracadabra” singer sings what she sees (à la Randy Newman in “Family Guy”) as comedians Andrew Dismukes, Devon Walker, Ashley Padilla and Heidi Gardner attempt to get some work done.
Naturally, no one is safe from Gaga’s impromptu piano ballads, including Dismukes’ 2 p.m. breakfast sandwich, Walker’s big swing of a hat and Gardner’s obvious signs that she sleeps at the office. Check out the NBC teaser, below:

Fifteen years ago, Lady Gaga released EP The Fame Monster, a reissue of her 2008 debut album The Fame. In a stark contrast to its predecessor, the pop star’s EP tracks chronicled the sordid and grotty bits of celebrity. Among the four new songs on the reissue was “Telephone,” a single Gaga had reportedly intended for Britney Spears, but eventually found its way back to her and was recorded as a duet with Beyoncé.

Saturday Night Live's50th Anniversary celebration recently culminated in a special event, bringing back hosts and stars from the show's past. It was a significant ratings success for the network, bringing in close to 15 million viewers for the spectacle. However, as the adage says, the show must go on, and a new batch of hosts has been announced for the next two episodes of the series. Not only does the newly announced lineup include a pop music superstar, but it also features a former host who was fired a few years ago.
According to Variety, the recently announced lineup includes formerly fired cast member Shane Gillis and singer/actress Lady Gaga. The decision to include Gillis comes less than a year after he made his return to the sketch comedy series as a host. He was previously fired prior to his 2019 debut after a slew of controversial comments and past jokes resurfaced.

Practical Magic is a film revolving around the magically gifted sisters, Sally and Gillian Owens, played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. The fantasy romance drama was based on the namesake book by Alice Hoffman and saw the sisters use magic to destroy the evil spirit of Gillain’s abusive boyfriend, Jimmy Angelov, played by Goran Visnjic.

Just before filming Practical Magic, Nicole Kidman spent over a year working on Stanely Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut opposite her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Filmmaker Pablo Berger had never made an animated film before. He’d never even considered it until he read Sara Varon’s graphic novel “Robot Dreams.” Having recently lost his best friend and mother, the story of friendship and loss spoke to him on such an emotional level that he decided to adapt it — and learn how to make an animated film.
He spent two-and-years on animation education, but wanted to bring something from his previous directing experience: working with some of the best Spanish actors. Said Berger while on the Toolkit podcast, “In most animated film, [the characters] tend to overact.”
Berger began by working with a small animation team led by art director José Luis Ágreda and character supervisor Daniel Fernández Casas before “an army” of animators brought his vision to life.
“I started saying [to the animators], ‘I’m going to treat you as actors, you are my actors,’” said Berger. “They...

“There is a long chain of stories, poetry, lyrics, and musical roots that have crossed cultures and generations inspiring the whole world for hundreds of years and in all those lines of thought, music,...
