Justice League Dark is back on at Warner Bros. but this time, it will be J.J. Abrams overseeing things. This is a title that the studio has wanted to tackle for some time, with several high-profile filmmakers, such as Guillermo del Toro and Doug Liman attempting to bring it to the big screen over the years. Now, thanks to Abrams' recent mega-deal with Warner Bros., the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director will produce both movie and TV projects based on the DC Comics series.
According to a new report, Bad Robot is in the very early stages of developing various projects based on Justice League Dark. The company's Head of Motion Pictures Hannah Minghella and Head of Television Ben Stephenson are said to be taking meetings with writers soon and, at that point, certain characters from the comic will be getting their own projects. Exclusive: I hear that Bad Robot, through its new deal at Warner Media, is exclusively developing both film and TV ideas based on DC’s Justice League Dark universe at Warner Bros.
This deal is all very nascent and at this point in time there aren’t any specific projects or characters that are being specifically developed out of the franchise. I understand that Bad Robot’s Head of Motion Pictures Hannah Minghella and Head of Television Ben Stephenson will soon be taking meetings with talent reps and their writing clients on which characters will get their own projects.
Justice League Dark (or Jld team) first appeared in the September 2011 issue of Justice League Dark #1 featuring such superheros, mostly occult and offbeat, as John Constantine, mystic and fortune teller Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man, and Zatanna. The roster is much larger, and members joined later on, with Swamp Thing...

Warner Bros. Animation finally delivers a full throttle R-rated feature. Constantine: City of Demons is a dark, twisted, and incredibly violent tale of the occult. It is a ninety-minute feature film based and compiled from the CW Seed streaming series. John Constantine, the supernatural detective also known as "The Hellblazer", first took center stage in last year's Justice League Dark. I dug the character, but got lost in the weeds of the overly complex plot. Constantine: City of Demons is much easier to follow and vastly more entertaining. The character flies solo in a gripping, bloody mystery.
Constantine's (Matt Ryan) psyche is plagued by demonic manifestations of a past failure. He's awakened from his boozy torment by an urgent visitor. Chas Chandler (Damien O' Hare), Constantine's childhood best friend and former bandmate, desperately needs his help. His daughter Trish has fallen into a mysterious coma. The doctors fear she is brain dead,...

Constantine has had his problems when it comes to bringing the character from the pages to the big screen. The character was brought to the big screen in a not-so-comic book accurate film in 2005 when he was portrayed by Keanu Reeves. He then had his own live-action series in 2014 which only lasted a season. Yet, fans still love him all the same. So much so that the character has been revived in comic book fashion and has appeared in the CW Arrow-verse throughout the past two years. Now the character is back in a dual-release of Constantine: City of Demons. Get all the details below.

Matt Ryan is back as John Constantine in the first trailer for Constantine: City of Demons. Ryan originally played the character in the short-lived live-action series based on the DC Comics character. However, he's found his way back to the role several times, most recently becoming a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow. Now, he's got his very own, R-rated, animated movie, which looks weird, dark and fun.
This tale has been produced in a dual format. The story was initially released as animated shorts, the first five of which appeared on CW Seed. With a runtime of 90 minutes, the feature-length Constantine: City of Demons movie has over an hour of never-before-seen content, including the climax. So, while not everything featured here will be new, there is plenty in store for fans to enjoy.
