Thanga Magan

It is a good reminder that we do everything to be happy and money does NOT equal to happiness. Samantha and Danush performed brilliantly in this heartwarming family entertainer!!! This is a rare gem in tamil movie industry!!!

This movie, Thangamagan is an okay film with a bit of humour and action. The hero (Dhanush) struggles to find the money which his father has given to his nephew. It clearly projects the life of a South- Indian middle-class family. It casts 2 heroines, one is Amy Jackson and the other is Samantha (perhaps another heroine Radhika). Anirudh's music is soothing. The story is quite fascinating and pleasing. Definitely this is a watchable movie, but try only if you have time in your hand. Twists in the movie are unpredictable and are thus unavoidable. Good story, good screenplay, good music and good cast.

Bottomline: Can watch it for fun, do not expect too much of fun.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film. Rather than being the drama that I expected, Thanga Magan is a sweet portrait of love and the evolving relationships amidst tragic family dynamics.

What stands out the most is how love and courtship have been so innocently portrayed through great music sequences.

Dhanush gave a solid performance throughout the film. The dialogues are good, especially that of the supporting cast.

Give this film a go, and you'll also be in for a pleasant surprise :)

I love Anirudh music and soundtrack. The songs I like is Jodi Nilave and Enna Solla because Swetha voice is awesome. It also completely based out of strings, the cut-song with a symphonic twist is sensual and comforting and infects us with love and care. Anirudh ROCKS!!!!!

STRENGTHS: * Dhanush's performance steals the show.... * Anirudh's powerful romantic songs.... * Supporting cast.... * Family story....

WEAKNESSES: * Movie was certified as "U" which is unacceptable.... * No kuthu songs as we see in every dhanush movies....

FINAL VERDICT: * Overall.. it is a good family entertainer with some pleasant music. Dhanush will not disappoint his fans as he makes movies which are acceptable at least once. They would have avoided some scenes to deliver a clean U movie. Just go for it....

A young man, who has lost everything because of the selfishness and greed of others, must find out the truth about his father and clear his father's name.
