    This Movie needs to Disappear!

A book- writing husband and his wife fed up in their relationship go on a boat trip with his girlfriend plus the boats skipper. Later the husband disappears. Was he murdered or did he jump etc? Who cares?! Everyone in this movie is dull and boring. The pace of the film is far too slow; there is no excitement or real interest. Only the ocean and beach scenes are worth any merit or a rating:

    3/10.

    Flat , boring, stiff acting

This move is flat and boring. There is nothing interesting about it. It feels like a sophomore project from a film student. I am sure of that blame can fall upon the editor's hands. But I feel it starts with lack of good directing and cinematography - bland shots with bland acting within. Lots of scenes feel like did not have coverage shots to allow for alternate editing choices. I believe that is why it cannot fall upon the editors. It also feels like it was shot on different types of cameras. Some footage is rich and deep in color, but then one gets hit in the face with a washed out shot that seems disjointed from the rest.

A couple of the actors are decent, but the rest are like anchors pulling the movie down. With monotone acting and monotone voice overs.

The script is also not the greatest - feels like they wanted a 1930s feel set in modern times. News alert - the 1930s were actually vibrant times

A Fine Story Mired By Poor Acting.

You'll notice right away there's a problem with Disappearance. All 6 or so actors are about as natural as robots at delivering their lines. This does ruin what is otherwise a very well produced film. The script may not be worthy of Hitchcock but it's definitely believable and intriguing as a mystery crime thriller. The cinematography, editing and pacing is also quite good. The wooden actors do improve slightly as the film progresses with a couple of laughable dramatic exceptions. I'd like to see this movie redone with capable thespians. Nice effort though. Worth a watch for the decent plot.

Calling this movie awful is a disservice to awful movies.

Story goes nowhere and it's as if the producers just hired a bunch if cute girls for the camera or for themselves.

Great Beach & Ocean Scenes in HD

I'm a sucker for a good crime thriller. I had never heard of this so I streamed it onMGM plus, hoping it was decent. By the time I had enough of the slow pace and poor acting, I was too far in to turn it off without knowing what happened to the troubled writer. By the time I got to the end, I was even more disappointed. The plot had potential, but it never took off, and ended poorly. Combined with the horrible acting, this is 90 minutes of my life I can never get back. I was impressed with the cinematic views of the beach and ocean on my new 4k OLED TV, so I added a star. I rarely leave reviews here, seriously maybe 1 or 2 in decades, but this was so bad, I felt like I had a duty to warn others not to waste their time.
